This might just save you from an expensive mistake – The first one is 4 years old and a great bullet proof speaker, so good I wanted to buy a second so I could pair them for stereo, and that's where it went south. nothing will induce the pairing app to work. However there is a manual procedure independent of the app but this can take 30 plus failed attempts and then like magic it works 3, 4 , 5 times in a row and then nothing for another 30 attempts. No support in Australia, and only via email with the US. After many months of send and wait emails UE have acknowledged the app is faulty and they refuse to even discuss the hit and miss manual method. If pairing 2 units is your intention you will be so frustrated, you will stick it on a post and use it for target practice. Buy a Bose.

Not a bad product works with ease – I've used both the UE boom 2 and JBL Charge 3. I ended up purchasing the Boom 2 It's small compact design is great for storing in my car glove box. But it WILL NOT charge your phone as you play like the JBL charge 3 will do. I use it when camping and the sound level is great for that purpose. with little to no bass response from the speaker. It has the ability to adjust the equalizer via the App and is something I done straight away as the factory settings are terrible. I like warm sounding music try these settings Bass 0, 5, Mid -3,-4 Treble -3. That's the best sound I could find.

The charge port is narrow on the unit but will fit other thin micro USB charges such as the Samsung S2 Charger and most thin chargers found in Kmart and Target. People report they can't find aftermarket charges to charge the Boom 2. I think they need to open their eyes and have a little look around.

All in all is a great unit. would be great if UE made a subwoofer to link with the unit.

Sounded good, did not last more than a couple of weeks – It sounded good, although I was a bit nonplussed when it grabbed my phone calls. the power, but still tell you that it won't charge up because the power connection hasn't been made? It knows what you want to do, it can tell you have plugged it in, but it refuses to comply and tells you so, in a polite female voice. It defies logic. I went on Youtube and tried the various suggested contortions of pressing several buttons at once, but this didn't work.

I took it back to JB Hi-Fi and there was no problem at all about getting an immediate refund, although there was the expected recitation about me being the first person ever that this has happened to. I get that a lot. Now I've got a JBL one from JB HiFi and it is really good so far.

Beautifully designed and incredibly useful – It's nice to have an electronic product which is intelligently designed and well constructed -- this definitely fits in to both categories. be safely put high up on a shelf while in use, as it's stable standing upright or on its side. Despite it being mostly cylindrical it doesn't roll too much due to the rubber material on one edge.

The battery life seems surprisingly good for casual use - we charge ours every 1-2 months based on generally a few hours of podcast listening every weekend while cooking / ironing / gardening.

The sound quality is great for the size of the device and it's easy to start listening via the phone speaker and turn the device on to have it seamlessly take over once the phone's bluetooth connects (1-2 seconds).

One small improvement which could be made is the ability to have multiple devices connect in to the Boom simultaneously -- this saves about 2 finger taps on a phone or tablet to reconnect, however it would be quite useful when there are multiple family members sharing the same Boom in a common area of the house.

The USB charging socket also does take some getting used to in the sense of being quite narrow. It is a standard USB micro socket, although whilst the included USB cable and plug fit perfectly, other USB cables lying around the house tend to need to be jiggled before they can be plugged in to the device.

Overall a fantastic unit with great design and performance!

Pumps Out the Bass! – We have 2 of these - one purchased from Bing Lee and one through Kogan. Both are working well and we have linked them together to form a true stereo sound. Batteries last and no problems so far. Only issue was that I was sent an English power plug with the UE when I purchased it through Kogan and they refused to change it for an Australian plug! few goes to correctly insert supplied usb male connector into female on device. Will look at another bigger one soon, from UE. Maybe MegaBass....... Edit: I love the inbuilt hook as well, to put a carabena through and hook anywhere. For me it's my backpack!!

Do not buy these speakers !!! – Australian customers Do not buy these speakers. Logitech the manufacturer have no repair center in Australia and no speaker repair people will touch them as they are not worth it. Whilst its ok if they are in warranty as soon as they are out you are basically left with a piece of tech junk. disappointing as I was expecting a lot more bass, but small size is no doubt the key here. Could also do with a shorter recharge time. I would recommend this because of the size, plus the sound quality is a lot better than my laptop speakers.

they cannot actually hear you on the other end. To solve this I just immediately turn off bluetooth when my phone starts to ring. 2: It would be great to have fm radio rather than streaming from a radio app then through the speakers.

Aside from this, super happy with my speaker... I am considering getting a second one for work.

Absolute frustration – The eu boom by far has been the most frustrating piece of technology I have ever used. The wire cable that recharged the unit is fragile and breaks - the unit disconnects all the time. We purchased 5 of these and had the same experience with all. Love this portable speaker – I just love this portable speaker, It produces good sound and bass for its intended purpose. I mainly use the Boom 2 on trail rides with my cycling group, it keeps the whole group entertained connected via my mobile phone device. Stunning sound for this size – Very good sound, great bass, esp. considering the size. Very happy with this unit. Waterproof and drop proof are a bonus. I need good sound for a small group of people (~20), this does it with capacity to spare. It charges quickly. with rich deep sound is increadible. A friend came over with his JBL flip and was embarrassed at how much better this sounds. Hope this company makes multi room audio system they would give Sonos a run for their money.

great speaker and very loud and sturdy – Owned this speaker for about a year before I lost it. Very happy with its performance and would recommend it to anybody. Fantastic sound, long battery life! – This speaker has awesome sound and the battery life is so good. Very nice loud sound, has become crackely occasionally – Very nice sound from this device, very good quality Bluetooth connection, but the music / sound is sometimes crackly when connected through bluetooth or aux cable. Good but not reliable – I’ve had this speaker for a month and a half and it’s already not able to charge won’t connect to my phone and will only turn on when it is plugged in but it still won’t charge. with a 3.5mm auxiliary jack which allows you to connect to non Bluetooth devices. I connect mine to my portable DVD player and it sounds amazing. Sound quality is good and loud and with two of them connected you get true stereo sound. Brilliant all round!
