ALDI Lumina Steam Mop (2007-2015)

Great performance - what a difference! – Been using Aldi steam mop for months with no problems. Tonight it was buzzing & no steam was coming out. Solution was easier than I imagined. Remove water canister and reposition it firmly in placed. Buzzing gone & instant steam. My floors are considerably cleaner after use. No mop & bucket cannot perform as well.
Junk!! – Don't be stupid! Don't waist your money. Something so simple and you got it wrong, now I'm left with a piece of rubbish! The reservoir only allows <5mins of use before needing to refill. Once refill, it takes another 3mins to get to full pressure and steam before adequate for use. Leaves water beads requires mopping or water marks if 10mins to… Read more
dry, hence temp and pressure requires to build up which provides 5mins use. Unit is not always consistent.
terrible – never buy- it's cheap Chinese crap I spent 40 bugs but it's not worth even for a cent thank sen
Rubbish – I bought one of these expecting it to do the job satisfactorily. I used it on slate, then a short pile rug and s a short pile carpet. It was hopeless on the rug and carpet as the mop kept pulling off. On the slate, the mop barely got dirty. i then used my trusty old mop and bucket to wash the slate and of course off came the dirt as could be seen… Read more
in the now dirty water in the bucket. It showed the Aldi steam mop did nothing! i took it back the day after I bought it.
It was useless in effect. incidentally the steam seemed to be negligible and really not very hot.
Complete rubbish! – Our son gave us this Lumina Steam Mop so we can clean our marble floor with much ease. We used our Lumina Steam Mop only twice and now it would not heat up anymore. This is a complete junk. Now we don't know where to store this piece of garbage away from our sight. Beware of the name: Lumina. Good for 2 uses only.
Good value – Lumina SM-102 has the excellent Triangular swivel head. I bought it for $50 to see how I liked steam mops. It works well. The balance is not great in that it easily topples when left standing. But value for money it wins hands down. More expensive models do not have the versatility of the swivel head. Mine has been working well now for over 2… Read more
years. Good work, Aldi Cheap, effective, good head design Not well balanced once the water container is filled.
Terrible – I bought 4 Lumina products together from Aldi - of these the steam mop was dead straight out of box, steam cleaner leaked on first use and microwave oven stopped heating after 2 weeks very minimal use (reheating food). I will never buy a Lumina product again - a waste of money especially since they won't honour warranty - steam mop and cleane both… Read more
have water ingress (I thought you were meant to fill them with water before use), microwave was used too hot (well hey it was too cold in the frige Goldilocks!). My Lumina kitchen scales still work, but I've only used them 5 or 6 times. In summary - these products are C**P
DOA - product was faulty straight from box
Useless, Unsatisfactory – Upon opening the product box, one of the steam mop heads was dirty on the corners. I disregarded this as I was looking forward to cleaning my floor. Go to fill up with water and then notice that there is already water in there??? 'Now' I was thinking this is a used item. I got to do half of my very small kitchen floor when it needed a refill. I… Read more
did so, then the 'ON' button would not work. Nothing could make it work and that was the end of that. Purchased from 'CATCH OF THE DAY' and they have told me to contact 'SKYWAVE' apparently their partners in crime. No refund for me. Cheap Broke in the first 5 minutes and cannot be used again.
I have had my mop for less than 1 month and just found out that I have to order the pads from HONG… Read more
Terrible product – This mop is like most of the other Aldi things you buy - cheap and doesn't work as described. I've had mine over a year so couldn't get a refund but the thing is no one else sells this brand!! It did clean the floor but I'm sure others would do a better job Doesn't get into corners, hard to fill, takes forever to heat up and mine just died!
I found it left streaks on my floorboards. Very disappointed, but I guess you get what you pay for. Definitely taking it back.
Terrible – Unfortunately the docket flew away outside the shop, so I couldn't get a refund. I may be wrong about this, but it looked like it had been tried by someone else and returned. I will never buy this brand again... Absolutely nothing It never worked from the start, the power goes on but doesn't heat up
Don't do it ! – Bought this steam mop a few months back when it was on special in Aldi. I thought I was lucky as I got the last one in the store. I hate using it. It is about to go out in the next hard rubbish collection. Nothing worth mentioning. It is 'clunky' and heavy to use. It takes a while to heat up. The steam head is too big to get right into… Read more
corners. The cord is too short. It is fiddly to fill with water. Can't expect much more given the price, after all......
It looks like they have updated the model external link compared to the photo shown on this site
Complete waste of money – Worked well first couple of times then the water container came to pieces with bits coming off the inside of the reservoir. Clunky noises then came from the heating compartment and no heat in the mop head. cheap and nasty you only get what you pay for.
Terrible – Don't waste your money. I bought this from Aldi because it was cheap and I wanted to see if a steam mop worked. In principle I can see how they work and will buy a much better one. Cheap Used a few times and worked for about 5 minutes each time.

Know better, choose better.
OK – does the job, but it not very well made. It is good for the price (I paid $50), but now I wish I'd paid more and got a better one. cleans hardwood floor well handle keeps coming apart, need to refill often, heavy and difficult to manouver
Terrible – At least I know not to buy any Lumina product again. I will buy a better quality product next time. Cheap from aldi @ $29.95 Cloth lasted about 10 minutes then was torn in two spots. Used on a tiled floor only.
Terrible – although my mop is only 2 months old, i will ditch it and buy a new brand - that is why i am looking at this site. the product works, but not as well as the kenwood i have had for 3 years (just died) and a much better investment. think i will go back to Kenwood - it was a much better product in comparison. it was very cheep - about $60 it doesn't… Read more
get hot enough and the pads don't slide well. on my light porcelain tiles, it leaves streaks so bad i want to get out my old mop (but i am too lazy).
Bad – I ummed and ahhed about buying a steam mop but with two small children I thought it would be a good idea. The price was right but I found this heavy to use, the cord is not long enough to do my family room/kitchen without having to replug it in another electrical outlet. Left my floors quite wet which took a while to dry. As I clean my… Read more
floorseveryday, I find it easier to get out a mop, fill the sink with water and do it that way Cheap (I paid $49.95) Faster to do the floors with a mop!
