Employ polite people – Have a garden hose reel which suffered minor damage ,my fault it was self defence with a wasp , contacted McNaught Sydney NSW and received 100% help . Parts available , in stock , reasonable price . Arn't you glad you can still with Aussie companies sometimes ?

Mc naught R3 18metre garden reel – Great product as usual ,had air reels by mc naught,and now purchased a garden reel. Great flexible hose ,good tension pulls the hose not like the weak tension imports that you have to litrally push the hose back into the housing case. and further more Australian made! Try and get a 10 year warranty and spares from cheap imports. Please check out and just because they are made here " dosn't mean they cost more" common garden shows promote our stuff"

24 years and still going – I bought a Macnaught Retractor Water Hose Reel in November 1988 for my home. It was still fully operational when I sold the home in 2013. ie 24 years later. It was placed outside in the sun facing North East all that time. The colour had faded but the plastic case still strong and the mechanism still perfect. Never had to service it. In my near-new home after that there were already 2 well known but cheaper (about 25% less based on todays prices) brand reels installed by the Builder. These lasted 4 years and had to throw both away. Now building a new home and looking for a couple of good hose reels and come across Macnaught again while surfing the web. Hence writing this review now. I seriously have to consider Macnaught again. They are much cheaper in the long run than other reels I've used.

Way Beyond the Call of Service – In March 2018 I purchased on line, 3 Retracta Green auto rewind hose reels manufactured by Australian company namely, Macnaught Industries Pty Ltd of Turrella New South Wales. One of the reels sustained a small leak where the hose is connected to the body of the reel which drove my wife mad and as a result told to fix it. I misread the detailed instructions and as a result unwound the tension retraction mechanism. I made contact with the Macnaught company to establish whether they had a qualified tradesperson to help me out of this self inflicted mess. They instead asked me to provide proof of purchase and replaced and delivered a new one as a gesture of good will. In an environment of unforgiveness and having to prove way beyond reasonable doubt the item was faulty [not in this case because I was at fault] I am most appreciative to Macnaught's for their gesture. Although not cheap at $219 these hose reels are manufactured from ultra tough components and are top notch and come with top quality hoses and accessories. Above all one is confident the manufacturer will stand by their product and offer assistance when required. What's a good nights sleep worth?
