Versatile and reliable – I’ve been using the Wanaka for about 9years now. Over all a beautiful tent. Two ppl can pitch it with In minutes. I’ve used it in the deserts of NT, to alpines of NSW and VIC and it holds out in the elements really well. How ever I do haves some gripes with it. I find the tub lining too thin. I know they say to use a footprint ground sheet, however it’s to much fussing around. Also I find that condensation drips into the tent, by means of moisture running down the inside of the tarp “which it’s supposed to do,” however on the sides of the inner wall, the tent has these channels formed from the pole placement and tent design. Well, the moisture runs into and down the channels running right past the side vents.. that’s where it sometimes drips from.. besides these few thing me and my family of four have loved it.. it’s compact and light enough to fit in a car if needed, but tough enough to withstand torrential rain and Gail force wind..

Purchased at Newcsatle for $800.

extremely solid tent, fits a whole family and dog – we have taken the wanaka camping three times now and it is now our favorite family tent. it is very well built and holds up in high winds, it has excellent ventilation so in the day time it does not get too hot inside if you have the windows open. it comes in a nice bag that you can place all the tent and stick into and is easily store able in the trunk of our car.

Purchased in at Macpac Physical store for $500.

4 out of 5 only because of lack of instructions. Otherwise 5/5 – Earlier I wrote a 1 star review as there were no instructions that were helpful that came with the tent and my first camping trip was only days away. With the assistance of one of the brilliant staff at MacPac Town Hall, the tent went up easily but took 2 of us to put it up. Such a roomy and comfortable tent. Thanks MacPac.

Solo Pitch – We just discovered today that the Macpac Wanaka tent can be easily pitched by one person. Yes! One person is enough! This suits us perfectly. We love it, especially being able to stand up in it! The friendly and very knowledgeable guy in the Petone, Wellington, New Zealand store, kindly even let us pitch it right inside the store so that we could be sure that it could be fully erected solo. Our third Macpac tent.... quality, say no more, delighted.

A gorgeous Tent! – Super light, easy, beautiful to be in, really nice textures. Suits anyting up to an including a family of 5. This tent is easy enough to carry on your back, on single handed, yet can suit a family. Has weathered rain no problem. Absolutely love the colour. Macpac are a great company to buy from. Weight, colour, layout, Nothing apart from cost
