One month after purchasing the top spec AX7l and delighted with this great value SUV. Was downsizing from a Kia Carnival, but needn't have worried because despite it's small size a comfortable and spacious experience.. Will update if anything changes going forward, but if you're looking an under 30K I highly recommend including this is your 'homework' as I did and definitely giving it a test drive. Although the upgrades are great value, I would have been happy with the base model (especially as no fan of sun roof and for a cooler car in our very hot summers I prefer a white roof rather than the two tone that seems compulsory on top spec models these days) . However, daughter on Ls, who loved the sun roof, was picking the car which will be hers as of mid next year. Despite not having an ANCAP, it had excellent crash test results and all the safety tech to appease my parental concerns, including a lane keep assist which is not insane like the reviews criticize in other sub 30K alternatives. As of now it is certainly in the running for my car after the handover to daughter. With solar panels on my roof I might go electric, but unlike petrol cars I think EVs have much improvement ahead of them that I think makes it wise to wait.

Update: Four months in and after completed service at Mahindra's Bowen Hills dealership, that from woe to go has been great, fixing a minor issue with boot, still very happy. Quite a few pleasant surprises along the way, with the most recent, being the car, via a lovely Indian female voice, informing me my tyre pressure was low. By the way I didn't mention it, but I had the windows tinted (through the dealership) and because of exterior plastics, the car ceramic coated first week of ownership (as apparently the sooner the better) at Car Ceramic Protection Virginia and am very happy with both. Forgot to mention that having knobs, rather than everything in the screen was a major convenience and safety selling point for me (and has made driving more pleasurable for sure) and funny enough, apparently going forward ANCAP will stop giving five stars to these everything in the screen cars.

Purchased in at Brisbane City Automotive.

Now seven months and after 10km (economically cap priced) service. Still very happy with my Mahindra. Also just rotated the quality Goodyear tyres that, along with the emergency spare, came with the car and are holding up very well. All surprises have been positive ones such as tyre pressure warning. No annoying bing bongs, bhe one annoying modern feature is the stop/start, supposedly that helps with fuel economy but creates problems long term) but the button right next to the steering wheel makes that super easy to turn off every drive. Lane keep assist is mild so is just helpful, not annoying and speed alert has never been on, so seems to need me wanting it to activate. Wireless charging helps my daughter who has an Apple phone which (just like her equally disappointing ridiculously to crack the screen Apple Laptop) now has an issue and can't charge by plug in, while I appreciate the super fast charge plug in for my much cheaper, but never had had issue, non wireless charging Android. Although it doesn't have a lane change warning which I liked in my Kia Carnival, I have got used to the lane change blind spot view assist so that's not as big a loss as I thought.

Putting my money where my review is, I just bought another of these little beauties from the same great friendly vibe, and so far super excellent service, dealership. It's the second replacement of a parked car run into and written off, this one our 16 year old i30 spare car (we also have an 8 or so year old one). The tyres are holding up great. The fuel tank is small, but its nice little turbocharged non-CVT engine only needs 91 petrol which is sweet right now especially. And the ceramic coating has been awesome, with the big surprise being with all the rain dirt just washes off and I honestly have only had to simple wash the car like three times in 8 months. I am going to get the same great guys, Ceramic Coating Geebung, to do the new one as well. One negative, the wireless charging works for my one daughter's Apple, but not the other. Fortunately hers in USBC so she can use the 65w fast charge plug in. Talking charging it has rear-seat charging points (12V and USB) and also much appreciated by the child in the back over summer, rear air vents.

Our poodle has scratched the interior in places, but in a light bulb moment after stressing about a solution from the wrong end, he will now be wearing doggy socks whenever we put him in the car.

Below, pretty much matching my experience, is a link to a Car Expert .com .au three months of driving a 3XO review.

Of the 3 'Cons' C 1. Aggressive idle stop-start system - As stated, super easy to turn off right away or at first occurrence if you forget. 2. Super-sensitive front parking sensors "our particular vehicle seemed to have a faulty front parking sensor, which would occasionally activate when there was no obstacle ahead" It was a mystery to me as well, but it seems that when there is something it considers too close to the car on the side like a traffic island (it also happens if I get too close to my hedge as I back down the driveway) and yes it is mildly annoying but yes also very occasional.

3. Very strong competition from China - I'll take a well travelled Korean car (SsangYong Tivoli) upgrade that this is, no huge centre console to cramp the driver's legs, Goodyear vs Linglong or whatever tyres, knobs over everything in the screen and no annoying safety features (everyone seems to complain about in Chinese cars) that would earn it a ANCAP five star here, so for what it's worth I will settle for the Indian 5 star rating. For example, lane change assist is automatically on, but is simply helpful and not annoying at all.

Finally, he mentions the gas mileage not meeting the specs, but as he, like me, was pushing the handy button to turn off 'stop, start' which if left on apparently saves petrol, but is bad long term bad for the engine. The good news is 91 petrol is fine in this car.
