Good but could be better – I purchased the electric mower from Bunnings in Nov23 and have had plenty of opportunity to use it with this wet, warm summer. What I like: - Instant start - Full width mowing - Plenty of power on full power option - Ample battery life with the 6amp/hour batteries - Cuts the lawn very evenly. Finished job looks great What I don't like: - Mower is quite heavy, no lighter than my old petrol model and slightly longer - Mower is quite noisy on full power. The quiet mode is not enough for my grass at the moment - Handle is inadequately anchored at the base and flexes when mowing around curves and corners. - Has only two speeds. At present my grass needs the higher setting and a third (mid-range) option would have been welcomed. - Safety handle is heavily sprung, more that it needs to be. - The grass catcher shute has ridges that the clippings lodge into and need to be removed by hand each time. The mower uses around one third of battery life after mowing my approx 200sq/m lawn area. It cuts well and evenly but is a bit of a job to manouver around curves and corners with the heavy base and flexing handle. I was expecting a mower lighter and more agile than my old petrol mower. It is easy to use in straight lines but that is not my garden!! At age 72 I am happy with the easy charge and easy start but I think that there is a bit more work for Makita to do on this one to make it more convenient to use.
