Ruined our day nothing is fast about it – This company is an absolute disaster and would highly recommend people stay away from them! Ruined our day nothing fast about them.

Dishonest service provider – We were travellers from Melbourne. On Sunday 12 June, we went to Manly Beach via public ferry. When my wife, my son and myself went into the Manly Beach Wharf on 12 PM, we intended to take the public ferry too, because there was a $8 daily cap in the weekend. We just went into the wharf, before we had time to look around, a man in blue uniform… Read more

with white beard below has nose hastily approached us and said, "Quick, quick, it's leaving!" He grabbed our Opal card, scanned them, and shouted to the staff on the ferry, "The boy has insufficient fund on his card", as he ushered us to ferry. He never told us it was a private ferry and we didn't have time to ask.

On the ferry we realised this was not the public ferry, so I complained to the captain. The captain said, "How about three of you pay only one adult fee, which is $10.20?"

I said ok, and the captain charged us $10.20.

Ten minutes later I realised that the man on the wharf had charged us $20.40. So I asked the captain to refund the $20.40.

He changed his mind: "I will only refund you the $10.20 which I charged you on this boat. This boat didn't charge you a cent. I don't care how much you were charged on the wharf."

When the ferry docked, and the cashier got onto the boat to do the refund, the captain charged him mind again. He asked the cashier to refund the $10.20 and then charge my son's fare, which was $4.50.

How much more dishonest can a a service provider get? Just for a few dollars?

Oh my God!

This service is shocking. Run by morons. Fifth time they have cancelled a service. No wonder they are going broke – Hopeless. Never plan around this service, it is very unreliable. This is the fifth time they have cancelled a service and I don’t even use it that much! Think twice!

Fast and efficient – I understand and agree with some of the negative comments, however for the times I catch it, it is worth the extra money for its speedy and efficient arrival. I do wish it was at a more affordable rate.  Show details

The staff at Circular Quay panic at every busy queue, they’re not rude or anything... they’re just not trained – Just poorly trained staff that cause delays, mainly because of their payment system infrastructure which can’t really handle a fast process, it’s hard to read and misses payments all the time Get a better payment system Show details

Worse quality and higher price – The staff were clearly striking for a reason. Fewer services, usually late and at an increased price. Often less clean too. Shows why competition can be good in a market like this!

Doesn’t run to same time as schedule – Went for last ferry which according to tripview is at 9:25pm on a Monday. Got there as it pulled in at 9:20 to be told that was the last one and there was no trip back. Thanks for leaving me high and dry! Please update your schedules. Photo of tripview showing it not following that schedule because i’m petty and annoyed!

One of the worst company to deal with - Manly Fast Ferry – One of the worst companies to deal with, most unprofessional with no courtesies at all. During the Christmas period I had booked a Zoo Combo pass for the family online. However next day I was told they don't run service on 25th, so I had to make my own arrangements to reach the Zoo. Then at zoo, I had a lot of difficulty entering as they could not… Read more

approve the online ticket given. The pass ideally was to allow me 48 hours access of the ferries, so I reached their office on 26th to be able to go to Manly and was informed, they are not running any services to Manly on that day. So ultimately I was not able to use their services both the days which spoiled my holidays. The first lady at the office of Darling Harbour was rude and not at all ready to help. The second one Samantha was at least a little positive and agreed to take the complaint and refund request. The real journey started here. I had to follow up with this company for 2 months to finally get a petty $40 as return, wherein I had paid $198, if I had purchased the zoo tickets directly I would have got it at $118. The company says, we cannot refund $80 as per some stupid rules. This is a complete case of cheating, where they are trying to fleece customers even when they don't give satisfactory services. The worst part here is the ability to get in touch with this company, they just are not available most of the times, they don't respond to your mails for days and then give back some lame excuse. I have not got even one call from their head office till date to understand what I have undergone. If you don't want to spoil your holidays, please do not go with this company ever.

Monopoly – Once again a clear demonstration that a monopoly does not work. 4 or 5 of us not let on because of no reason other than the ladies call. To make it worse she lied saying the boat was full when clearly it was half empty. Rest assured I will be vociferous when the tender is out again. Since the monopoly customer service has disappeared. Show details

Aircon often not working – I do this commute daily and cannot believe the amount of times the aircon wasn't working in summer time. Not acceptable in this heat packed with passengers. Are the ferries not serviced, cost saving, what?

Worst experience – So Awful! But what choice do you have. Very Disappointing, rude staff and zero customer service. Bring back the old fast ferry service. These guys ruin the vibe of manly.

Terrible company & ferry service – I honestly don't know where to start!? I would give 0 stars if I could. They charge double the price compared to the other ferry run by NSW transport. This is because it is supposedly 10 mins faster. I have been getting the ferry twice a day for the last 6 months and can confidently say it has been delayed at least 2 out of 10 trips per week!… Read more

Finally fed up and going to return to the 'old' ferry which at least will listen to your complaints and is regulated by the government if they have consistent delays. Their prices are ridiculous and you can only top up a minimum of $50 at a time at a minuscule booth which can house a maximum of 2 workers to facilitate the HUNDREDS of costumers who queue up. The result? People top up hundreds of dollars at a time to avoid waiting - exactly what MFF are aiming for. MFF staff are unprofessional, unfriendly and unhelpful. This private company is preying on costumers from Manly who are desperate for a more efficient way to get into the city for work. Awful service, constantly pushing more people on board who clearly don't fit (especially in rainy weather when it's more dangerous!!) and constant delays. If you are a regular ferry go-er I wouldn't give my money to these shameless people.

Bad experience and delayed an hour to pickup the customer today – First time take ferry and very bad experience with fast ferry. They have delayed an hour to pick us up from tagonra zoo and no apologizes. Very bad experience. We have more than 140 customers have to stay and wait for next ferry coming. I won’t suggest this ferry at all. Jason

New crew on board treat regulars like trash – I've been travelling on this service for several years all of a sudden you can't top up your card on board but have to queue up on the wharf so I complained and now I can't buy a beer on board ! Good one manly FF certainly not going to be recommending you to my interstate or overseas friends

Fast but no longer efficient – It was better than the Sydney Ferries, seats are newer and cleaner. During peak hour, it has more frequency and they are usually on time. If you get their travel card, you will pay slightly cheaper than the normal rates which works out around the same or slightly more than Sydney Ferries. However it has a shorter operating hours, which means… Read more

taking Sydney ferries is more reliable in some sense.

Since changing the wharf to wharf 2 in circular they seem to have more issues than ever! Confusing signs, No queue system - if you arrive earlier but you are not the first ones to board (Not first come first board why) You can use opal but that is around 25% more expensive than using their charge card. Recently they increase their fares! I guess these changes might be out of control but I will definitely start planning to use alternate transport now.

Don't bother – Ever since the competition was eliminated the service has been terrible, staff rude and commute to work uncertain. The morning and afternoon peak commutes are overcrowded and it is often a case of having to wait one or two ferry's to get on. Ticket prices have also risen from what the promised in their tender. NOT WORTH IT.

I wish we still had Sydney fast ferries – Every morning peak hour they close off gates 10 mins prior due to overcrowding. It is overrated calling it a fast ferry, why bother when the 'slow ferry' takes the same time when consider standing on wharf waiting, miss Sydney Fast Ferry.

Fast ferry always full – Hi Manly fast ferry! Ever since the change to the opal card system, the fast ferries have been packed. Especially around 8am. One needs to get to the ferry 10 min before, which makes the commute at least equal to the slow ferry. Its really inconvenient and frustrating not knowing whether you'll get on the trip. Are you looking into a long term solution for this?

Lack of care consideration for passengers – 6.30pm 24/8/2016 ferry from circular quay to Manly was in such a hurry to unload and load people. Passengers were loading on before passengers from the existing trip could get off blocking the entrances. I am stuck on the boat going back to circular quay and back again. I hate this. The waves and darkness is making me sick.

Drop in service – Sorry guys I agree with the first review. Since you have taken over your service standards have dropped. The additional ferries are not built for winter in Sydney. You pile passengers on , but if down stairs is full we have to go upstairs where on some ferries the cover from wind and cold is non existent . Please improve.

They treat people like animals – I used to catch the 6pm Manly Fast Ferry, but not any more! Quite a few people catch this ferry and I can imagine it is a little stressful running such a big ship, but the staff behave appalingly! It is almost incredible how rude they are. After shouting all around at eachother infront of everyone, and shouting down to the people running to the… Read more

ferry "hurry up! The ferry is leaving" I have caught them watching people run, and shut the gate in their faces. They also had a period of time where they had the ferry leave at 6pm but the website stated 6:10pm. But that isn't the worst of it! I have heard one of the staff shout "someone forgot ot shut the back gate you Cee You Next Tuesday!" - I was astounded and very shocked that they would say that, and to top it off, the guy didn't hear her, so she shouted it three times! - Mainly, what upsets me the most is that they treat their patrons like animals, herding them, shouting at them etc. I like to think the Human race has come a long way, and the people who catch this ferry pay a fair bit to do so, so a little respect would be appreciated! It was fast Rude staff, expensive, bad service,
