Vanity cracking – Owned vanity for about five years. Started cracking (see photo) with regular use. Warranty is two years.
Marquis Bathroom Products Failure – I had planned a renovation of my bathroom some months ago. As part of the process, I visited a number of businesses before I decided what I wanted to purchase and I paid for tap-ware and a vanity from Tradelink at West Ipswich and tiles from Tile City, West Ipswich. Delivery times were long as expected due to corona virus problems and supply line… Read more
delays. No issue with that. Eventually, everything was delivered and stored in a spare room and nothing was unwrapped as there was no point in doing so. Yesterday, the builder arrived to start work and I decided to remove the vanity from its packaging. Lo and behold, the four (4) chrome legs of about 200mm in length were not present. I searched everywhere and the builder confirmed that they were not present in the box. I contacted Tradelink and they said that they would contact Marquis and get back to me. I had to call them back later that day and I was told that they were waiting for a response to an e mail that they had sent to Marquis. Workers on site this morning so I called Tradelink again and the situation was unchanged. I said to them that as they have the product on their shop floor, then they could remove the legs from that unit and send them to me. I was told that they couldn't do that as technically, they don't own the display vanity. I said that as they are ordering a set of legs, that Marquis wouldn't know anyway. But they wouldn't budge and asked if I could send some photographs as Marquis are insisting that the legs were packed inside the box. I strongly informed Tradelink that such was not the case and again asked for the display unit legs to be sent to me. As the unit is fully unpacked, I couldn't see any benefit in taking photographs and unnecessarily prolonging this stuff up. I told the Tradelink fellow that I have a tiler and a plumber who won't be able to do their job just because Marquis made a stuff up, which they won't own up to. Once again, many apologies but no movement on supplying the display unit legs. So I told the Tradelink fellow that when he speaks to Marquis, to tell them that I won't be buying anymore of their products. I mentioned this conversation to the plumber, who called Tradelink to see if they would listen to him, as they want his business account back. He got the same story. So, a big thumbs down for Marquis for not getting things right at their end in the first place, and a not so big thumbs down for Tradelink for not having the business sense to be 'flexible' in helping out a customer who has paid in full and didn't get what they paid for. Funnily enough, I've had no problems with Tile City, yet. A very unhappy customer.
Marquis vanities – We build a new house and paid $$$ to get this brand installed in our bathrooms. The vanity is falling apart within a year and a half. When I put in a warranty request, I was told “ The damage has been determined to be due to water exposure and not due to faulty manufacturing. resistant materials but are not waterproof. Any excess water needs to be wiped dry to avoid the chance of water damage. Water damage is not a manufacturing fault and is therefore not covered by our warranty policy. We are happy to offer you a replacement cabinet at cost price however. Please let us know if you would like to take up this offer.” It’s highly disappointing as the vanities are supposed to get exposed to water, they are in the bathroom not in the showroom.
I would not recommend this product to anyone. Please do your research before you pay $$$.
Thanks,
Lovely product and the Customer Service truly is amazing! – Family run, company that prides itself on proper, good old fashioned customer service. So very rare these days it seems. I had a minor issue with a 3-4 year old vanity and thought I probably won't be able to get the issue addressed and that I would be told "too bad, out of warranty". However, I was surprised to learn it had a lifetime warranty! I… Read more
thought there may be a catch on a 'lifetime' warranty (eg: must have to be cleaned during a full moon with whale spittle or some such!), but no! When Marquis were approached on my behalf by my supplier Eagles Plumbing Bennetts Green (thanks Eagles) there were no hastles at all. Marquis were very fast to approach me directly and rectified the minor issue above and beyond what was necessary to ensure everything was perfect. Their tradesperson was reliable, thorough, and took pride in his work. He told me when he first started working for the company he also thought a 'lifetime' warranty may not be as good as it sounds, but discovered they really do honor it and he is grateful to work for such a good company. Customer Satisfaction to Marquis is top priority. I am about to purchase another vanity for a different bathroom. It is a no brainer. It has to be Marquis as no one else offers such good after care. Thanks Marquis, you should all be very proud.
This is customer support!! – Five years ago we completed a home renovation and fitted two Marquis vanities, sourced from Harvey Norman Commercial. Recently one of them started showing some water damage on the drawers, so I contacted Harvey Norman and sent photos, as I noticed that the Marquis website offered a lifetime guarantee. Within a week, someone from Marquis contacted… Read more
me and said that they would not just replace the drawers, but would come out and totally replace the whole vanity as they noticed that the white body panels were yellowing, which they attributed to a faulty resin batch around the time we bought ours. This was so honest of them, as I would have been happy to just get two replacement drawers. I then mentioned that the second vanity was also yellowing a little, sent photos, and they promptly agreed to replace it too. They've kept in contact and the replacements are going in next week. That's how you look after your customers! And they are a great, local business - highly recommended!! Hats off to Harvey Norman as well, who kept the phonecalls and follow-ups happening through the process as well.
