How to use cold water only settings – We bought a maytag front loader MAF7512AAW intellisense7.5kg and it will only was using hot water it's set on the screen at 30 degrees we have lost the booklet/manual that may have told us how to use it properly there for we need some help to rectify this issue please help Show details
Maytag never missed a beat – I have had my Maytag toploader for 16 years. Household of five. At least ten loads of washing par week. In the lady couple of years that has dwindled down to 5 loads per week. My maytag has not missed a beat . It is not as water efficient as some other washing machines but this would not deter me from buying another. Show details
Need a manual – My machine has workied well until the electrical filter blew up, I have replaced it but the machine will now - not work. Does anyone have the owners manual so I can deciper the display? As I have never had the manual I have just been pushing buttons and it worked up until now.
Product Discontinued – No wonder this product has been discontinued as it must have been the worst machine ever produced by Maytg for it to rust out in less than three years. I'm glad that others have read my review about this product. I even rang to complain and the response I got was "oh can't do anything about it because now it's out of the warranty period." Nice customer service.
So glad we got the extended warranty – It washes well...........when it's not broken down. It had a panel rust in less than 6 months and was replaced under warranty, it's had a new control panel, a door seal, now (luckily for us) with 3 months left on the extended warranty the pump has died, none available for at least 3 months. We didn't realise when we bought it the machine was just a rebadged Whirlpool, our previous machine was also a Whirlpool and just as bad.
Worst washer i ever had – Maytag only a name with a price tag in Australia. no parts no after sales service. i had the washer for just over 3 yrs and its rusting, door seal bellow is warn and water leaks through. very poor service in australia. very expensive to service or fixing it. switches goes in when pressing. Does the job Body rusting. door seal warn and leaking after 3 yrs use.
The best washing machine! – We purchased our Maytag MAF7512AAW back in 2009 from the Good Guys in Cairns. My Family has three members. My wife, I and our five year old son. We originally purchased this model after our initial purchase of a $600.00 Samsung. The pump on the Samsung went after only three months. We are heavy washers and stick everything in our washing… Read more
machine including sneakers, back packs, etc. We usually wash once a day, sometimes twice depending on the items. We do not look after our washing machine and expect it to perform for us. We use our 1200 spin cycle for everything, and we usually use the Coloured cycle which is designed for heavily soiled clothes. Under most circumstances, the approximately one hour "everyday cycle" is good to go. The express wash cycle is very convenient for pool towels, Speedos and the likes.
It is now November 2012, and our Maytag just keeps on turning and spinning our clothes at 1200. It occassionally has a leak form somewhere beneath and this appears to be when we place a Queen sized mattress protector. It may be that it is to heavy once saturated with water. Apart from this, it appears obvious to us and more specifically given our heavy use of this machine, that this machine is rock solid, and comes highly recommended to anyone wanting to purchase a reliable and solid machine.
We did know that this machine is built with industrial strong components and this appears to be the reason why this machine keeps on turning. If it does ever give up, we would not hesitate to purchase another Maytag.
We hope our review assists other's who are researching a new washing amchine purchase. Super Reliable No "beep" to let you know that the cycle has completed
Terrible – I hate this machine. I have had it for 2 years and it has just started stopping and throwing errors. it has been a dud from day one and has finally packed it in altogether. We bought a Maytag because we thought it would be a good machine retailing at $1500. It is awful. I will never buy a maytag appliance again. Sometimes washes clothes if you put… Read more
it on the longest cycle... * The timer lies, cycles take approximetely 1.5 times what the dial says, ie a 2 hour wash takes 3 hours
* No coldwash capability, the lowest it will go is 20 degrees, which uses my hotwater and thus my lpg runs out a lot quicker than before I got this machine
* Everyday wash is a waste of time, clothes come back out dirty
* Takes 10mins to reset if I want to get my clothes out and unlock the door
* Start button doesn't work from time to time so if you press it and walk away it is very frustrating to come back 3 hours later and find it hasn't even started...
* You need to add an extra rinse to get it to rinse properly and use a lot less powder than reccomended otherwise the clothes are still full of suds, but then itf you don't use enough it doesn't wash the clothes, it is a hard balance to find.
Terrible – I'm with you dlawson12 this machine is a dud. Thought Maytag would be a good brand after owning a Kleenmaid but boy was I wrong. I took extended warranty on top of the price and wish I hadn't - can't wait for it blow up so I can get a new machine. Um - Um - Um - not sure there are any - Oh yes it uses less water than my old machine. Controls easy… Read more
to use and it looks great and takes up less space than the top loaders. takes to long to do a decent wash
My whites have never looked greyer.
If wash blacks on hr cycle they come out with powder on them even after using 1/2 the recommended dose.
just got washed socks out and still had grass on them after an hour cycle.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Do your homework – Purchased April 09 noticed that after approx six months the door seal developed mould which is very difficult to remove.. Then just recently after a washing cycle a small part of the seal broke off into the washing and caused the machine to leak into the laundry. We actually purchased an extended warranty with this product, but guess what? It… Read more
doesnt cover the door seal. So also be wary of extended warranties and what they cover. Initially we purchased Maytag because of its reputation and reliability for industrial washers Faulty door seals moudl builds up regardless of cleanijng with bleach
Would never buy again – Horrible machine and bad aftersales service. Machine still leaks after trying numerous different things advised by 'customer service centre' (ie use less detergent, cut back amount of water going in to machine and adjusting the tilt of machine so it leans back) and because of this machine has started to rust. Also occasionally will not complete… Read more
rinse and spin cycle and does not clean clothes as well as other less expensive machines do. Would never touch a Maytag appliance again. Looks nice and is easy to use machine leaks, does not wash clothes properly, wash cycle takes too long and fails to complete all cycles every now and again
Good – Overall a good machine, which washes well. The salesperson gave us a good tip to only use about half the recommended detergent to stop excessive sudsing. Found it best to use a favourite setting to reduce the spin speed and add an extra rinse to the everyday wash cycle. Good choice of washing cycles, including everyday wash cycle which takes 1… Read more · 2
hour. Reasonable load capacity. Like being able to control the wash cycle options. Would like a chime to signal end of wash. Prone to vibrations through the side panels when starting a spin cycle, despite being perfectly level (and didn't that take some doing). Towels don't seem to come out as soft as previous toploader, and capacity does not seem as much as previous 7kg toploader.
Good – I really like this machine. I find it relatively quiet and very efficient, the clothes come out nearly dry. I find the capacity is more than sufficient for 2 people. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Mine is two years old and have never had a problem with it. Easy to use, washes well. Love the choice of cycles and the delay start is a… Read more
god-send. My long hair seems to congregate in the crease of the rubber seal, better there than on my clothes though. Short cycles and powder detergent sometimes leave white marks on the washing.
Excellent – What can I say? I am very happy with it. I suppose its the old clique - "you get what you pay for!" I just love it! Its very quiet, the washing comes out cleaner than clean and the most important thing - NO GREY SCUM RESIDUE ON THE CLOTHES!! Its so user friendly! The instruction booklet is so easy to understand and the machine is too!
