Dolphin cleaner not worth money spent – Brought this unit from Clark rubber Cannington just over 3 years ago after trialling the unit instore. Worked great for the first year. After that needed to reset clean start for every use and it would only go for an hour then needed restart again. Cleaned basket at every stop but no change. After 3 year with 6 months no use for winter no… Read more

communication from controller and stopped working completely. Took to store for repair and told motor seized and all internal parts need replacing. $1000 to fix. Would not waste that money again on an overpriced cleaner that only just lasts through warranty period. Main debris type was sand and small leaves which the cleaner handled well for first year or so then after that took about 3 cycles to remove what was done in one. Cord tied itself in knots and had to untangle so cleaner could reach other end of pool. Would not recommend this cleaner to anyone thinking of purchasing.

Angry and disappointed – - .I'm so angry and disappointed .paid over $3000 for this a week b4 Xmas so I could have a nice clean pool for summer. Within 2 days it kept stopping. Advised I needed to unasked it to get to the motor where debris had got in. That fixed it for 2 cycles then the same problem occurred!! Had to keep fixing it. 2 weeks later the whole thing… Read more

stopped working and couldn't turn it on. Took it the Saint Mary's store as advised by Dolphin to have it tested. Told they were to busy today and would try and get to it tomorrow. May need to send back to Dolphin. No indication of how long that will take. Won't offer me a replacement. Now paying off a cleaner I don't have during the hottest time of the year. I suggest looking for 1alternative pool cleaners

Great machine 6 months into ownership – I bought this as I was time poor, and it is great at resolving that issue, most of the time. We have a significant amount of vegetation around the pool and thus a lot of debris including long difficult bit of palmtree and other things to pick up. It doesn't handle them so well. I'd love to have an option to run the unit more than once a day or… Read more ·  1

for longer, as it doesn't quite get the whole pool clean. We run it daily when we are away to reduce the load on the pool filter.

Just doesn't last as long as it should for the high price – Was fantastic for the first year in our salt, pebble pool (as you would expect for $2.5k) except for the fact it tied its cord in knots. Over the next year performance reduced, and during the start of COVID died altogether. It had stopped moving like the drive gear was jumping so I replaced the treads wondering if they had loosened. No difference.… Read more

Took back to Clark Rubber but as over the 2 years (just) not covered under warranty. Impeller replaced at 300+ plus various other work. 6 months use later and it has stopped moving in the pool again. For about $1000 per year would be cheaper to pay someone to come clean the pool every week. (Bluetioth also never worked properly on this model to connect)

Had to Upgrade, but very happy with it – I purchased my RC4800 (bear with me) from Clark Rubber in Cairns 2 weeks ago having trialled the RC6000 shop unit. The two are basically the same bar the wifi and the caddy not included with the RC4800, so I believed. I was very impressed with the trial RC6000 to the point I was a little worried as to how much sand and dirt it was collecting and… Read more

if I'd have a pool surface left! The water was murky within 20 minutes as it went through it's cleaning, and the pump/filter was on the whole time. On returning the unit I asked this of the staff, and he advised to keep it going continuously initially and that will get on top of it (it did 7 cycles over the weekend of the loan). My pool is a 65k litre pebblecrete with deteriorating surface due to poor chemical balancing over years. The RC4800 was the one I went with as I coudn't justify the caddy and app (that doesn't work unless you are near your unit by the way, so don't get images of dialling into the machine from work so your pool is ready when you get home - because you can't). The unit ran twice and on the third time decided it had had enough and spat the dummy. I returned it to the store and they put it on diagnostics. It had a fundamental problem, however there was no forcing me to wait for a repair, it was straight for the replacement (as you'd hope!), however they were out of stock. I ended up doing a deal on the upgrade to the RC6000, and it wasn't until I got home that I realised the difference. The RC4800 barely stirred up the water, nor collected anything like the RC6000. It's now operated (without a hiccup) 9 cycles in the week, and I can say my pool has never looked as good. The balance of the chemicals was the first tip I picked up from the reviewer above (so thank you) and I made sure it was good to go. My machine does the entire waterline over the cycle, and even the stairs look amazing. I did brush one set off, but not the other steeper step as an experiment, and it's amazing. I highly recommend the better model if your budget allows. Oh, and the silver lining of great service was that Clark Rubber (Rob) even called me a few days later to confirm I wasn't going crazy, and there was a rare fundamental issue with the RC4800. Great service by Clark Rubber, and very happy so far with the unit and the stuff it takes out of my pool. I should add it's been great with the gum leaves and small berries the birds drop also. It's not missed a beat. The dual filters are amazing and make it really easy to clean with my heavy arthritis in my fingers. It's all very straight forward. The cleaner happily runs around even when we are sitting in the pool, and bar the waterline scrubbing (which is amusing to watch), it's absolutely silent.

Faulty design. Back to the drawing board – My pool is 50,000 litres, kidney shaped, pebble sheen finished. I needed a new pool cleaner to replace my Zodiac CX20, which died after only 3 years. I did not want to buy another Zodiac so I was advised to buy a Maytronic Dolphin. As I needed a very good one, I purchased the top of the range, the RC6000. This is by far the worst pool cleaner I… Read more

ever had: it perfectly collects sand and dirt but it totally fails to pickup leafes and seeds. It just goes over without collecting them. It looks like it moves too fast pushing away stuff rather than collecting it. When it changes direction it actually does wheelies, once again, pushing away debris rather than collecting them. It does not climb walls very well: sometime it reaches the waterline but most of the times it just fall off halfway through its climb. I contacted technical support but they were quite usless. They just told me to go back to the shop to get the unit tested. I really miss my Zodiac. It did not last long but at least it worked well.
