Very competent and friendly staff! They take good care of our dog after three different surgeries. They don't charge excessively like most vets. For all these reasons, we drive 40 mins to see them. Much appreciated!

Two ACL surgeries and my dogs quality of life has improved significantly. Strangely she was not scared to go in for the second acl surgery and walked straight in and out the back. Yet she is scared at every vet. Staff were very caring. I’m very grateful. Comparatively low cost made it affordable.

There plenty of vets in my area (Dandenong) but there’s only one that doesn’t charge like a wounded bull. 10/10 for all aspects of my interactions but better still my Jolene issue was dealt with and with care. Jolene isn’t scared to go there. If you’re considering Melbourne Pet Surgery don’t hesitate and I give

Following a couple of years of outstanding care and support with our female Rottweiler (ACL surgeries on both legs 1.5 years apart), our old girl (8+ years) developed severe pains and a limp in her hind leg. Subsequent X-Rays identified an advanced bone cancer in her Femur and sign that the cancer was also moving into her lungs. Having made the… Read more

hard decision, Lexi was euthanized this morning. I stayed with her through to the end and was able watch the caring and compassionate staff making her last minutes comfortable and pain free. This afternoon my wife and I received a beautiful bunch of flowers and a caring note from the staff, acknowledging and sharing our grief. They are now arranging for Lexi's cremation and return of her ashes to us. Melbourne Pet Surgery have made what is a painful time for us more bearable.

Cannot recommend Melbourne Pet Surgery enough, my experience with them was amazing and their care for Coco my German Shepherd in her time of need was above and beyond. This was an extremely difficult moment when I found out Coco needed emergency surgery that had to happen as soon as possible, the kind and understanding staff at Melbourne Pet… Read more

Surgery found time for us and stayed until whatever time necessary to make sure this could happen as needed. The entire staff were great, professional and extremely helpful, Thankyou to all of them for helping and saving my precious Coco and an extra special shout out to an extra special person (Erin) who personally helped me while I was struggling in this confronting time, can’t thank you enough and will never be able to explain what this meant to me.

I have no words about the care for our darling cobber dog. The patience, the kindness, the follow up, responding to emails on weekends, gentle nature was next to none. Having to put our darling dog down was made so much easier because of the care here. I would recommend it to everyone and would use it again if we have another pet. Thank you from bottom of our heart

My dog Barney recently ruptured his ACL, and having done his other leg a year ago I knew this was going to be a very costly experience! Last time cost $7.5k, and i just didn't have the finances at the moment for that again! My dad found The Melbourne Pet Surgery online and suggested i give them a call and i am so glad I did because not only was I… Read more

quoted a much lower price, $4k, for a 55kg American Bulldog, but the staff were so lovely and professional and they could quickly accommodate Barney and get him in the next day! 2 days later and Barney had his TPLO surgery and I must say having been through the experience many times before with other dogs of mine, I was very impressed with the whole process from start to finish. I had imagined maybe he would receive the basic of care and it be substandard but infact it was the opposite! There was certainly no compromise on quality and care despite the lower price and id actually go as far as saying they were extremely thorough and unbelievably organised and had thought of everything right down to his medication chart, the ilium neocort cream given and great sufficient and adequate pain relief to make him comfortable while his leg heals! Lovely vet nurses too and I must say again so impressed with the high level of care and quality treatment he received every step of the way! They certainly make the process as easy and stress free as it can be for such a stressful situation when your dog ruptures his ACL. Top notch quality care and the best and latest of products even down to his flavoured anti biotics as we all know some fussy dogs will spit out their anti biotics, and his course of injections for me to take home rather than have to cart him all the way there every week! They could not have done anything better this place totally exceeded my expectations, so impressed and I've dealt with many vet clinics over my time!

Wonderful caring service – One of our twin border collies was checked by local country vet and we were advised that her right anal gland was extremely enlarged and cancer was presumed. We were referred to a Geelong surgeon who quoted an horrendous amount for surgery. Checked internet for costs and Melbourne surgeons were so much cheaper, half price at least so thousands… Read more

less and found Melbourne Per Surgery and read a review for the same surgery performed by Scot Plummer. Chose to go there and so happy we did, our dog was looked after so well by Scot and the staff and so were we. Leaving a nearly 11 year old for major surgery was very worrying, but staff gave us the feeling that they actually cared about our darling dog and her outcome and not how much they were making fro her care. So grateful everything went well and when I went to pay the account, it was $1000 cheaper than what they quoted as the surgery was not as extensive as what they thought it was going to be. The Geelong vet would have still charged the full quoted amount I am sure. Post surgery care has been great, with email and phone contact to check on her progress. Have no hesitation in recommending this service, sure you will be as happy as we are.

Outstanding Surgical and aftercare pet clinic – Our 6 year old 46 kg. Rottweiler Lexi tore her ACL and was in serious pain. Dr. Scot Plummer suggested immediate surgery, which was performed the next day. Getting her home that evening was a challenge as the anesthetic hadn't warned off yet, so we had to carry her inside. When we picked her up after surgery, we received detailed written… Read more

instructions about her recovery requirements and about 2 weeks supply of all the medications she was going to need; these were included in the price of the surgery (which was about 40% lower than all other quotes). After about 12 days, we ran out of one of the pain management medications and Lexi was exhibiting almost manic behavior due to pain. This was on a Saturday evening (clinic closed) and I was at a loss how to help her so I sent an email to the clinic at 9.35 pm. in the hope that someone would read it the next day. At 10.15 pm. that same evening, I received a detailed response from Dr. Amanda (bless her!) telling me what other medication to increase the dosage of to manage Lexi until the Monday morning. That service was unbelievable!! Today is 12 weeks since Lexi had the surgery. We have had her on a diet to protect her from further injury and she is now 40 kg. She walks without a limp, wants to run but we stop her. Recovery is not yet over as she now has to rebuild the muscles not used for several weeks. I hope not to need surgery for Lexi again in the future, but if we do we would only consider Dr. Scot and Dr. Amanda to help Lexi get back her normal life again. A great thank you for an outstanding job and caring from the whole team at Melbourne Pet Surgery.

Dr Scot j plummer A++ vet surgeon – Dr Scot plummer is an amazing caring vet surgeon, his kind heart has helped me and many more pet owners who struggle with fees when surgery comes, he is so patient and DOES NOT rush you out the door, but patiently gives tips and helps the patient(dog)in dire need of help, had it not been for Scot's many years of advice, my dog would not be with us… Read more
