Greencross Healthy Pets Plus 🏆 2026
My puppy recently had a castrate and dental extraction with Greencross Vets in Midland. He received absolutely fantastic care, and we were also given lots of support. Thank you, Greencross Vets!

obvious that CGV give zero care about pets, only Money.
YOU used to be able to call in when you needed a simple thing like a nail clipping, especially when if you don't get it done, your pet's nails will pierce their foot pads. They basically told me to go away.
I prefer to take their advice and just GO AWAY. 16-year customer, not worth a napkin.
Greencross Vets should rename to GreenMoney Vets. It used to be a great place, but now you and your pet are a number, and even when you ask, they just shrug. And i guarantee your number isn't #1 as that is the money's number.
I then called to cancel the HEALTHY PETS PLUS insurance, and they told me I would need to pay for the year in full. Just double down then, mate and expect good people to cop it. Trust me, DON'T GO HERE, as in June 2026, they DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET.

my first time having to make the decision to let my pup go I wasn’t aware of the process. The information was thorough and clear except if there was a time frame. The vet did allow us time to give her a chocolate cupcake before we started the process. Over all I would definitely recommend this service and the cremation service people were 5 stars!!

Very competent and friendly staff! They take good care of our dog after three different surgeries. They don't charge excessively like most vets. For all these reasons, we drive 40 mins to see them. Much appreciated!
I love Pendle Hill because I go there all the time from my animals – The service at Pendle Hill vet is so beautiful they'd like to help you and they always have a smile on their face

say goodbye to their beloved Daffy and were anxious about the process and having a stranger in their home at such a vulnerable time. But Linda made such a sad and heartbreaking experience a really beautiful and comforting one. The lengths that Linda went to, to ensure both my elderly parents and their Daffy felt safe and happy, was incredible! The extra special treats and Linda’s gentle and empathetic nature made this heartbreaking experience so much easier and actually very beautiful. We are so grateful to Linda… what an absolutely gorgeous person she is ❤️

recommend this clinic to our son, who's mini dachshund needed an operation on one of his rear legs. So he made an appointment, had a consultation and diagnostic x-rays done. He was quoted $6000 and while a bit more expensive that expect and researched,he booked in for the surgery. He returned home and about an hour later received a phone call saying if he could bring Devon straight back it would be $5000, because they have had a cancellation. Unfortunately, that was not possible and so he kept his original appointment. While is was a saving of $1000, he does work and also had to budget for the surgery. If he had known it would have been a saving of nearly $3000, as the bill came to $7977.16, he would have returned and we would have loaned the money to him. Then the day before surgery another phone call, approximately 1:30pm asking whether Devon could be brought in for his surgery as another cancellation, but as he had been fed etc, didn't want to take the risk of complications. Day of surgery and nurse advises that $6000 was a low quote and it could be up to $8000. You can image the shock!!! So, it appears that amazingly a surgery that could been done for $5000, if you took a cancellation, drastically goes up to $8000 when you keep your appointment. I'm wondering if this is because you are covering costs for a "visiting" surgeon and who had bookings cancelled, but he still needs to be paid. I can't express how disappointed I am in this clinic. The "philosophy" on their website is extremely misleading. We will never use this surgery again, which saddens us because we thought we had finally found our forever clinic.

veterinary treatment. Instead, we were met with uncertainty, constant pressure for more expensive procedures, and a bill of almost $3000 without anyone being able to tell us what was actually wrong with him.
The treating vets repeatedly pushed antivenom despite being unable to confirm a snake bite and without providing us with any clear diagnosis. We felt as though every conversation was centred around the next charge rather than proper assessment of our animal.
Thankfully, we trusted our instincts and sought a second opinion elsewhere.
Within a short assessment, another veterinarian was able to determine that our cat had suffered an insect bite — not snake envenomation — and advised that the antivenom Animal Referral Hospital was pushing was unnecessary and could have caused further complications. Our cat was treated appropriately with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication and was sent home.
To spend thousands of dollars at an emergency referral hospital and leave with no diagnosis, no answers, and recommendations for treatment that were later found to be unnecessary is beyond unacceptable.
After reading through many other customer experiences, it is deeply concerning to see a repeated pattern of owners reporting excessive charges, poor communication, lack of diagnosis, and feeling pressured into costly treatment plans. (ProductReview.com.au)
This hospital appears far more focused on extracting money from distressed pet owners than providing clear, competent and ethical veterinary care.
We left feeling taken advantage of, financially exploited, and terrified that had we agreed to everything being pushed on us, our cat may have been subjected to unnecessary and harmful treatment.
I would never return and would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before agreeing to any major treatment recommendations from this hospital.

desexing.
Even though I now live almost three hours away, I did not hesitate to contact Dr Phan, as I know he is among the very best in his field.
I have known Dr Phan for many years, and he has provided exceptional care for all my beloved four-legged companions: Ania, my Kerry Blue Terrier; Mikkie-Lyon, my Wire-Haired Fox Terrier; and Clément, my beautiful Airedale Terrier.
From the moment I called, his genuine warmth and willingness to help were evident. That level of care and attentiveness has always been consistent over the years.
Despite moving from inner Melbourne to regional Victoria, I have chosen to continue using their services. My dog is not just a pet—he is my family and my best friend.
Dr Phan possesses qualities that are increasingly rare: he is ethical, compassionate, and truly sees each animal as a member of someone’s family. His pricing is also very fair, and he shows genuine consideration for pensioners and those who may be struggling, ensuring their beloved companions still receive the care they deserve.
What stands out most is his approach—he does not rush into surgery unless it is absolutely necessary, unlike others who may proceed without fully exploring all options first. That level of integrity speaks volumes.
The service and care provided by the entire team are simply outstanding.
I highly recommend this veterinary clinic. The care they provide means everything to me, especially as I live alone here in Australia.
Thank you, Dr Phan and team VetCare Hawthorn. Without your understanding and compassion, I would not have the comfort of having my dear companions by my side in the way that I do.
I would also encourage anyone who has experienced such dedicated and exceptional service from Dr Phan and his team to share their experience on ProductReview.com.au. Supporting them helps ensure that this wonderful level of care continues for many years to come.
Kindest of Regards Jean-Claude de Shablé

an emergency vet he stopped breathing. Attempted to give IV fluids however they could not find a vein because of his low blood pressure and just put it under the skin and then did not tell me they could not find the vein and instead said how they put it in some lump no clue what that means as there was no lump. They then wanted to run an MRI, ultra sound and x ray for well over 2.5k and keep my cat over night so they could charge me even more. I took him to an emergency vet hospital and they did an ultra sound for 150 finding no internal bleeding, but he has a bruised lung and I think the antibiotic they gave him caused an allergic reaction as he was struggling to breathe. I think he would have had a better chance to live if I did not take him to these pet hating people and just attempted to do first aid myself. Horrible vet do not take your pet to them if you love them or if you like having money, these people will drain your account to the best of their ability.

or so - of late the cost of medications has increased weekly (up to 50%) one week I paid $65 the next week meds increased to $103 (for the exact same meds) was told due to suppliers increase). But have been able to get the same medication for a month supply (not just a weekly supply which I was getting from FVC) for$80…. recently have also been charged for telephone appointments for suggestions of medications that I have made over the phone to the vets that just needed approval that also cost $100 (this has happened on several occasions). The fees are way too over the top and I’m being charged for the suggestions I am making also! Not good enough. Very disappointing since Lucy has left practice.

our pet was taken behind a locked door. We were the only patients in the waiting room, & we were told on 3 occasions that the vet will come in 10.mins & tell.us what was happening, this never happened. A nurse came out to us & told us to sign a form asking if we wanted cpr & costs of $600-$900 roughly. When a vet did come into reception we asked her what was happening, & was told that she didn't know as she wasn't treating our dog, & wouldn't find out from the treating vet which we asked of her. She became very aggressive & told us we might be waiting 4 hrs. We were told by a nurse that our dog was on oxygen & had an ultrasound. We demanded to see the treating vet who eventually came out at 1.30am who wanted to keep our pet overn ight, do x-rays, blood work etc. We demanded to take our dog home, if our dog was going to pass we weren't letting them hold him.there, & we would see his regular vet at 9 am that morning. The vet would not say what he thought was wrong & we said to give him antiobiotics & a diuretic to help him breath, which he said he did at 1.35am!.not intravenously but a tablet! Who knows if this even happened, even though we were charged for these meds.but not given them to take with us. He also said he would email all clinical.notes to our regular vet, which didn't happen. Our vet had to obtain these notes.& no ultrasound was mentioned only how we were shouting at his staff. We left about 2.45 am after paying their inflated bill in disgust & watched our beloved dog all through the night & took him to his reg.vet at 9am. Disgraceful service. There were several.vets on duty that night & only 1 other.pet arrived the whole time we were there. Thank God our dog is going well on his meds, antiobiotics & diuretics which his regular put him on!

2022. On Thursday 11th July 2025 i noticed a lump on my dogs back which doubled in size overnight so i called the vet to get an emergency consultation. After explaining the situation, the receptionist J----- told me they had no appointments available until the Monday following. I booked the Monday appointment but remembered afterwards that i had to go into hospital on that Monday and Tuesday following and the dog had to go to a puppysitter. I called back the vet and explained the situation to yet another receptionist A-- and basically begged her to squeeze me in on the Friday. She again said there were no appointments and with no empathy at all said she could book me in for the Wednesday following. This would mean nearly a week to get my dog in for what i considered an emergency. Somewhere in the conversation with her i said "this does not help, and you don't open Saturday" to which she replied " Oh yes, we are open Saturday" so i asked why the other receptionist had not told me this and could i book a Saturday appointment. She replied with "We only have two emergency appointments left on Saturday, but you can't book these, you will have to call back on Saturday morning and we will see if we can fit you in, or you could try another vet". The steam was starting to pour out of my ears by this stage so i asked her to have a Vet call me back. I never heard from anyone and Friday night about 9.00pm i became really worried about puppy, so we called an afterhours vet, Coast and Valleys, and they said we could bring her in now or first thing on the Saturday morning. We took her in on the Saturday to discover that the lump was a Haematoma. They initially put a compression bandage on the lump to hopefully push it back in but when it burst on the following Wednesday, she had to have surgery to open it up and clean up the wound. There were follow up visits as well to check on the healing process, all covered in the initial surgery fee. They were so wonderful and caring at Coast and Valleys and even though they are a little further away, we decided to switch over to them for future puppy care. We chose Kanwal Veterinary Hospital originally because they are just down the road from us with modern facilities and the fact that they advertise "Being Compassionate". They were very good at looking after our puppy by appointment only, but I don't believe they showed any "Compassion" when we needed them in an emergency situation.
