How to go from an outstanding product to a mere average, with the cost of a top one: this is the trajectory that Meredith Goat Milk Yoghurt is pursuing with stubborn self-inflicting pain! One or two years ago the yoghurt had a dense, creamy texture, and now for the same price you get a cloudy suspension of yoghurt lumps and whey, more acidic and a far cry from the excellent product it has been for years. Not worthy anymore and, unfortunately, another product that, like many others, is tricking the market hoping in customers' loyalty, brand attachment and habitual buying. Well, it's not going to work. Better go back and give us the good product we all knew, or you risk saying goodby to a relevant slice of your customers!
Follow-up · In the last few weeks we have bought the product several other times, and it seems that the reported issue of having too much whey, and being much more acidic, is at the moment not present anymore. It would be interesting to know from the producer why that issue occurred. For example, we suspected that it might have been a seasonal change, but we had waited all winter and all spring before reporting the issue, and nothing had changed in those two seasons. We will update this in the future.
