Microsoft customer service in the past earned a better than this review. Bill Gates shares in this company 1.5% worth 40 billion approximately while hiding from his part in the Epstein files means I can have no trust in this company and will not renew any licences.
Stole $30 from me by causing me to loose access to one of my childs minecraft account during the mojang/microsoft migration, their technicians keep sending me into a circle with mojang saying its mojangs problem and mojang says no its microsoft XBOXES job and the keep sending me in a circle.
Everytime I try to subscribe or cancel my subscription, I find it really difficult. Systems are confusing and seem to be designed to deliberately confuse customers. It is really hard to know that you have cancelled and will not be charged again. Feels like soft fraud. Product is reasonably good but always hard to find a package that suits me. I do… Read more

Faulty software – Absolutely rubbish buggy software, freezes up even high-end capable PC laptops when in use, crashing computer and all other programs open causing loss of all data, cannot even use Ctr-Alt-Del to get Windows task manager to respond.
DONT USE, SPINELESS – Ruined Xbox, requires game pass to play already brought games.
What a crap show!!! – I have had enough of Microsoft and the multi step sign on system. It never remembers my password and I waste ssooooo much time resetting and setting up a new password. After putting in my PIN number, having a code sent to my phone which I put in I still need to put in another password. Go stick your Microsoft... moving to another company. Enough is enough.
FAULTY FROM DAY OF ACTIVATION - NO SUPPORT FROM MICROSOFT/TELSTRA – Having had a Surface Go for many years that worked perfectly until recently (Battery not charging correctly) I thought I would upgrade to the Surface Pro 9 purchased through Telstra on a plan with a total cost of $2599.00 which is RRP through Microsoft. The device was delivered 11.10.2023. From the moment the device was activated the day it was… Read more
delivered I started getting Blue Screen error messages, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. This error requires the device to restart causing the loss of data I may have been working on at the time. (See attached photos). FOLLOWING CONTACT WITH TELSTRA AND MICROSOFT EXPERIENCE CENTRE NEITHER COMPANY HAVE SHOWN ANY SUPPORT TO REPLACE OBVIOUSLY A FAULTY DEVICE. IN FACT BOTH COMPANIES HAVE SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT THE OTHER TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. I visited the MICROSOFT EXPERIENCE CENTRE in Pitt St Sydney yesterday 26.10.2023 following a discussion with a Telstra Store employee who suggested a visit to the centre would speed up the replacement process quoted by Telstra at 2 - 4 weeks. The visit was a complete waste of time and money (parking fees etc) as it was suggested I visit the Telstra in the city as Microsoft did not have any stock of the device to replace my faulty one. I have booked an appointment with Telstra in George St Sydney for Sunday 29.10.2023 to have the device tested and perhaps I may get the issue solved but my experience so far would suggest that is wishful thinking. Should the appointment not resolve the situation my intention is to cancel the contract with Telstra although a representative of Telstra has informed me that I would need to pay out the device for that to happen. OF COURSE I AM GOING TO DO THAT - AS IF. I CANNOT FATHOM THAT COMPANIES THE SIZE OF TELSTRA AND MICROSOFT ARE TREATING LOYAL CUSTOMERS THE WAY THEY ARE.

I bought a brand new laptop and it came with windows 11. I cannot set up the laptop because Microsoft's operating system is rubbish and doesn't work. I get to a page during the setup and it wants me to prove I am human by clicking and holding down a… Read more
button. I do this and the button turns blue and gets a tick in it. I move the mouse pointer off the button and the software doesn't do anything. It won't proceed to the next step.
I spent 6 hours trying to get this to work and it doesn't work. I have checked online and tried everything from turning the laptop off and rebooting it, to using a bypass code in command prompt but nothing works. I can't even get command prompt to open because Microsoft's software (win11) won't accept command prompt as a safe program even though it's a Microsoft DOS based program that has been around for 30 years and is embedded in windows 11. How st^pid is that? Microsoft has spent so much time and effort trying to stop people bypassing this st^pid piece of software, it doesn't work at all.
I can't contact Microsoft by telephone because their phone numbers are invalid, and so is their email address.
I did manage to find a phone number for business customers to contact Microsoft but the AI software on their answering machine doesn't understand English and won't let me talk to anyone. It kept telling me to go online for help. There is no help online because Microsoft don't care about their customers or providing customer support. All they want to do is collect our metadata and monitor and control everything we do on our computers.
I tried logging in to my old Microsoft account but they want to send me a passcode and I don't have that email address anymore. I haven't had it since before 2015. I refuse to give Microsoft my new email address because I get spammed by them and scammers called me up when I last did that. So I am not giving Microsoft my new email address because they can't keep my personal details safe, which is kind of ironic considering they claim win11 is the safest operating system around and Microsoft is a multi-billion dollar software company that specialises in security software. Well maybe spy software is what they specialise in rather than security software.
I did try to make a new Microsoft account using an outlook.com email address but I couldn't because Microsoft's software is cr#p and doesn't work.
There's a consistent theme here and Microsoft makes trash software that is bugged and doesn't work correctly. And they have no customer support and refuse to help anyone except businesses, and they get screwed over too.
You would think that a multi-billion dollar company could find a few dollars to spend on valid telephone numbers and hiring real people to help fix problems instead of using cr#p AI software they make, which simply doesn't work.
Microsoft is a horrible company to deal with and doesn't care about customer service or making decent software that actually works and is user friendly. I am over 50 and have been using Windows operating systems since Windows 95. I can't use Windows 11 because it simply doesn't work properly during the set up. Imagine how older people that don't use a computer must feel when they buy a new computer with Windows 11? I am ready to smash my new laptop because of this, but I won't. I will return it for a refund and buy something that has Linux or some other operating system because Windows 11 is trash.
For anybody out there who is looking at getting a new computer with Windows 11, don't because it doesn't work properly during set up and Microsoft doesn't care.
Follow-up · Was a different device available? I tried a different laptop but it had windows 11 too and it got hung up at the same section, blue button prove you are human. The shop couldn't help fix it so I went back to the original one and put windows 10 on it (fresh install). It installed so easily and I skipped the MS account cr#p. In a struggling economy it is disappointing that businesses are permitted to charge for services to improve the economy. government should legislate an act to assist with employment opportunities and impose fines to business who actively restrict a fair opportunity to gain employment such as not allowing access to/editing documents already created such as resumes. Gov benefits barely provide enough for basic living expenses and can not cover subscription costs to Microsoft or Google on top of the phone costs/ wifi already being paid and creates a situation whereby gaining employment becomes impossible, decreases confidence, increases mental health issues and dramatically increases strain on the economy. While there is no legal requirement there is a moral obligation. Even word online doesn't work to create a new document because it links to you account that requires a subscription.

the issue caused by Microsoft online on their site. More being ignored by this company that creates problems and wont fix, wont reply and shows no customer service.
The issue that they refuse to resolve is their filter system that is hopeless. They allow rubbish, offensive sexual emails into the junk email box. The huge increase in gambling emails -Duckysino, Free spins, BetnJet, Likes Bet, Slotmaster and many more. Also Cloud Storage security, payments declined, Norton renewal when I don't have Norton, Costco Visa Gift card when I don't have Costco. Others like Riverbend Ranck, Omaha Steaks, ones in foreign language Gefeliciteerd, Walmart, UK Health and so many more.
They are unwanted and not welcome. I have put the settings at the highest. It doesn't stop the.
I report and block them which is a waste of my time. It takes a lot of time. The number of them keeps increasing and Microsoft need to fix their filters and stop them all!!! These emails do not come into my gmail account so it shows it can be done.
SHOCKING NON EXISTENT SERVICE from Microsoft
A company that lack manners. Does not reply to customers. Microsoft does not fix problems.
You have ignored letters, reviews, feedback on line on your page and you have demonstrated no customer service, no concern for customers. You have DONE NOTHING TO BLOCK THE RUBBISH EMAILS THAT YOU ALLOW INTO OUR HOTMAIL ACCOUNT.
You have DONE NOTHING to fix the filters to stop all the gambling, inappropriate sexual emails. You have done NOTHING TO FIX CUSTOMERS CONCERNS.
IT IS WAY OVERDUE THAT YOU IMPROVE CUSTOMER SERVICE, THAT YOU FIX THE FILTERS AND STOP ALL THESE TIME WASTING RUBBISH JUNK EMAILS.
ENOUGHT IS ENOUGH, FIX TGHE ISSUES, REPOLY TO CUSTOMERS AND DO BETTER.
MICROSOFT STOP BEING RUDE, REPLY TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND FIX AND STOP ALL THESE RUBBISH UNWANTED EMAILS FROM COMING INTO THE JUNK MAIL!!!

I am waiting on a $50 refund from MS, following action by the ACCC. The refund was not processed within their promised 30 day timeline and I have followed up 'support' now on three occasions. not to mention her pay packet.) I am at a loss as to why it's my job to follow them up endlessly. There should have been immediate communication when they were unable to meet their original timeline and updates with their progress. (And, ultimately, payment of my refund. FFS. How hard can it be? You didn't seem to have a problem deceptively overcharging me in the first place.) I guess being a global monopoly means you don't need to give a crap about your customers. Still, you'd think someone in the organisation might have enough personal pride to put some care into their customer interactions. Clearly not.
I am posting this publicly on Product Review as well to highlight the broken support system while I await further interactions with the Microsoft AI bot re formal complaint below, hoping a human will escalate my issue to the Complaints Department. --- **Microsoft 365 Support & Subscription Feedback – Escalation Requested** I am sharing this to… Read more
request a thorough review of my **support experience with Microsoft 365**, which has left my subscription issue unresolved and caused significant frustration.
Summary of the issue:
* I attempted to renew my Microsoft 365 Classic (non-Copilot) subscription after a previous failed auto-charge for an upgraded Co-Pilot version. * During my first chat, the agent (referred to here as “the first agent”) repeatedly fobbed me off, refused to escalate my issue internally, and closed the chat abruptly, despite saying I could keep the chat open to provide feedback. * This made it impossible to copy or screenshot the conversation for my records. * I requested that my issue be **f o r m a l l y documented and escalated** internally, but was met with delays and vague responses without confirmation that it was being recorded. * During a second chat with “the second agent,” I was directed to a public forum (learn dot microsoft dot com / answers / …) to post my issue, which is not appropriate for sensitive support concerns and does not guarantee escalation.
Further issues encountered:
* The support links provided did not work. * Attempts to use the Business Support portal, as suggested by the second agent, failed. Previous reference numbers I had documented were invalid when entered. * Despite clarifying that I am a personal user, I was repeatedly redirected to Business support links and public forums instead of having my issue formally logged. * I was sent in loops to the same broken webpages, which had already failed. * There was no confirmation that my issue had been logged, escalated, or would be taken seriously. * I was advised to call a Microsoft sales team, but no phone number was provided, and there was no assurance my concern would reach them. * I have photographed and saved screenshots of my most recent chat conversation and am prepared to forward these to Microsoft internally.
Observations about systemic issues:
* The process for submitting **official support concerns** is very difficult for consumers. * Pages and feedback links are often broken or confusing, making it nearly impossible to escalate legitimate concerns. * Chat agents appear unable or unwilling to forward issues internally, which creates unnecessary frustration. * Abrupt chat closures, inability to provide feedback, and public forum suggestions create a poor customer experience and prevent proper resolution.
Request:
I am requesting the following actions:
1. That my support issue be **officially documented, reviewed, and escalated** to the appropriate Microsoft Complaints Team. 2. That I receive a **case/reference number** confirming that my issue has been recorded. 3. That I receive a **private and confidential response** to my Microsoft account email, rather than through a public forum, as it is difficult and unsafe to share personal contact information publicly. 4. Guidance on how Microsoft ensures proper resolution of consumer subscription issues, particularly when chat support is unable to assist.
Thank you for your attention. I look forward to a **prompt, official, and confidential response**.
Sincerely, Elizabeth

Every time I sign into any Microsoft product it is a nightmare! The absolute worst customer experience design, this coming from someone who works in online media on a day to day basis. Honestly, how can you earn so much money and provide such a terrible experience. couldn’t go past the step of entering my product key. This is because the second step requires you to provide your payment details to set up an automatic annual subscription. ‘You won’t be charged now, but we still need your payment information to continue your subscription once redeemed subscriptions and additional free time end. Cancel within 30 days after your first renewal charge to receive a full refund.’ At the bottom of the screen it reads ‘To activate without adding a payment method please contact support by visiting Microsoft Support and click the Contact Support button.’ I did this and then I chatted with an AI bot online support on one occasion and an online support person on the other occasion, without any success. I phoned the Australian Microsoft Support Centre on a Saturday morning and received a recorded message and therefore no support at that time. So I tried the online download and installation process again. Then I tried another way. I signed into my Microsoft account, then clicked on ‘manage subscription’. Below my record of expired subscription, there were two links: ‘billing history’ and ‘redeem a code or prepaid code’. I clicked on the latter and followed the prompts with success, finally! Microsoft do not make this procedure transparent or easy to navigate. Some people prefer not to give their card details to be stored in their system and do not want to purchase an annual renewal subscription, choosing to shop around for a special pricing from another store. I hope the instructions are reviewed and become easier to follow and their AI chat can find this procedure to actually be able to support customers with the correct service information.
