I am writing this to warn every Australian consumer to think twice before dealing with Midea Appliances or Metricon. My brand-new Midea M26 Hot Water Heater suffered a total, major failure, leaving my household with ZERO hot water for two consecutive weeks. This is a severe health and safety issue. When I reached out for emergency warranty support,… Read more

I was met with complete radio silence. No one returned my multiple phone calls. No one replied to my emails. To make matters worse, they attempted to demand upfront service fees just to inspect a defect completely covered by Australian Consumer Law warranty.Because they abandoned us without hot water, I had no choice but to hire an independent licensed plumber to replace the unit immediately, costing me $1,500 out of pocket.Even after sending a formal Letter of Demand, they continue to ignore me. Their communication is non-existent, and they do not honour their statutory warranty obligations. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the hardship—look elsewhere for your builder and appliances

Sadly a 1 star review because I live in NYC where you need a window AC unit, we paid $500 for this one, and my building requires you to have it professionally installed because I'm street facing and obviously it's a huge liability. We had to pay $350 to get it installed, then 3 months later they recalled the unit. We did everything right,… Read more

submitted a ticket, they made a date to come fix it, and of course, they never came. A year later, we were like okay, this is absolutely ridiculous, it's time to just get a refund. Ours had mold at this point (which is why it was recalled) and it was really bad. I called, they make you jump through all these hoops to get a refund, and then the refund they give you is on a prepaid mastercard.... so $500 on a Mastercard...awesome. Real awesome. Doesn't even cover the cost of a new AC from them (we will never buy from them again). I said, so are you guys going to pay to have it installed too since it was recalled 2 months after we got it, she said "nah". Rudest customer service ever. I said, what about my medical bills since we had mold in our AC for a year? "Nope, sorry". The company should be help accountable. But nothing will ever be done because America is a scam. Horrible company.

Got a Midea 2.6kW split system installed through Cozy Air in August. Pretty happy with the whole experience. The guys were easy to deal with, turned up when expected and got the job done without any issues. The air con has been working great so far and does exactly what we needed it to do. Installation was neat and everything was left tidy afterwards. No complaints from me, happy with the job and would use Cozy Air again. Cheers.

Our new Midea system has made my family happy. Since vesta installation it has certainly helped us a lot. As the men who came to install it were very polite, called first, gentle also professional. They came on time and explained everything we needed to know. Until now, there is no reason for any complaints.

I’m very happy with my Midea product. It works well, is easy to use, and the overall quality feels reliable. The design is simple and practical, and it has made daily use more convenient. So far, I’ve had a great experience and would recommend Midea to others.

Absolutely chuffed with this air conditioner. We had it put in at the restaurant and it’s been spot on... keeps the place nice and cool even when we’re flat out. Runs quietly, does the job, and the install team were great blokes... No dramas at all, would definitely recommend it.

I'm very satisfied with this air conditioner because it is very energy-efficient, reliable and has a high cost performance. It has brought a comfortable feeling to both my life and work. I will definitely recommend this air conditioner to my friends around me because it will make their lives happier and more enjoyable.

I was a bit sceptical at first, not going to lie... Thought I'd give it a crack anyway. Couple of weeks in and it's been running like a champ. Keeps our restaurant comfortable without sounding like a tractor. That's good enough for me. Good product, Cheers mate.

Excellent cooling systems! I was recommended Midea by a friend and decided to try Athena split system for our living space and I must say that I am quite satisfied with it. The cooling process is faster compared to the old system and surprisingly it is really quiet, especially when on the sleep function. There is no blowing of cold air,the air… Read more

coming out of the unit feels like it’s soft compared to the old one. The power consumption rate seems to be less than what I had expected...

I purchased a Midea air conditioner through a distributor, and both the price and quality have genuinely exceeded my expectations. They’ve been in Australia for quite some time, and I switched from a European brand to theirs. So far, everything has been very satisfying, If budget is a consideration, they’re a very good option tho

4 heads installed on the multi-split system through an accredited provider have been great and work really strong. I have had other brands in the past and I have experienced no difference in quality between the two, in fact I find the Midea more reliable than the other systems I have owned in the past. For the price point I didn't expect much but have been really satisfied with what it is delivering, punching well above it weight!

Got my 5 head VRF system done through Elite and couldn't be more happy. They saved us through the winter and my gas bills were near zero! Nice surprise after years of crazy bills with the ducted gas. Install quality matters!! The guys were thorough and respectful, answered all my questions and made everything neat and tidy. I had cheaper quotes… Read more

but the guy told me 9/10 issues with aircons arise from sloppy install and so far so good. Happy I paid for an accredited install.

Brought 5 Midea split systems about 7 months ago and have had problem after problem with both customer service and communication with myself having to call back numerous times. First time was in winter just after they got installed the systems were not heating properly we needed to get an electric heater just to heat the lounge, when they came out… Read more

they said there was no problem just that this winter was colder than usual. Then this December had noticed that the aircon was blowing out just air so rang customer service they put me through to the office where was told they could not get anyone out till 1 week (weather was in the 40c) the guy came out said yes a problem not much gas but he could not fix it another tech needed to come out, arranged another tech to come out and asked manager to ring 1 day before to confirm time. No call back Again l called and was told they would email someone to get back ,no call , technician came he was fantastic he located the problem when installed there was a crack and oil and gas had been leaking from the start. He fixed it. Again now l could hear a dripping from large aircon so much so that it filled a large pot and wrecked a basket of clothing took pictures and sent them through as requested and day 3 still no contact. You need to improve your customer service and communication with clients that have paid wether for 1 or 5 split systems . If you can take the money fast you should be able to resolve problems for your customers just as fast and communication is a MUST.

I am not particularly impressed with the split system recently installed. The wall units are noisy when in heating mode. Would not recommend installing a Midea system.

Follow-up  · As it is winter the cooling cycle has not been used. In the heating cycle nothing has changed. I am not impressed and would still not recommend this system.

It's great until it's not. I bought a Midea split system air conditioner just over two years ago. The price was attractive, and at first, it performed well. That changed when the unit suddenly stopped working. On my first call to Midea customer… Read more

support (17/3/26), they reviewed the fault codes and said it was caused by a power surge. I disputed this but agreed to cover the call-out fee if found to be caused by a power surge. What followed has been incredibly frustrating. It's now been over three months since I lodged the warranty claim. I've had to chase Midea with numerous calls because their authorised service company rarely returns calls or follows up. After all the delays, they’ve finally agreed to replace the indoor unit tomorrow. Thankfully, this happened at the end of summer rather than the beginning. Overall, this experience has been a clear reminder that you get what you pay for. While the unit was affordable, the terrible customer service and warranty support have left a very sour taste.

Follow-up  · Installation went well, however, replacement inside unit was a different size so I had to repaint the wall. Outside unit not replaced but not necessary. Unit now working but what a long process of well over 3 months. Very frustrating and poor customer service with multiple technician visits before they finally chose to replace the unit which they were very reluctant to do.

Just got a five splits installed. Two units are leaking water down the wall while cooling, besides missing three remote holders. Will not pay until they resolve the issues.

Awesome aircons from Elite. got the 5 head unit multi-split system installed and working like a charm. Noticeable difference on the heating bills and are super strong for cooling. Able to get the home up to temp on my way home from work. Great price for great units and awesome install the guys were quick and thorough. Highly recommend save your money and get these systems.

Just had a 5 split system put in and the remotes do not come with wall holders. They advised that these need to be purchased separately and they are not packed with remotes as they impact on the sensors WTH??? The holders are only plastic clips FFS. I will let you know if the units are worth the huge install costs.

We recently installed 5 Midea split system Units, sad to say that we are disappointed, the moment they left after installing, it started to leak/some sort of oil substance from outside unit. Excellent systems. Replaced my old Mitsubishis with these systems under the Vic government rebates. I love how I don't have 4 compressors on the outside of my house anymore and got larger capacity systems at a fraction of what I spent on my old units. They are nice and quiet, look good and have the best warranties! Also love how I was now able to install them on any wall I chose.

I have the Midea VRF system with 3x indoor splits, installed through the Vic energy efficiency program. It is horribly inefficient (despite being approved by Vic government as an efficient system!), a coefficient of performance around 2.5 when heating (eg I am pulling ~3kW from mains for a 6.5kW heat output split). Spend your money on something… Read more

better and more efficient. My little Fujitsu splits elsewhere in the house can be left on all day and consume hardly any power (they have a COP around 5).

All round a bad experience: you can also hear the refrigerant flow in unused indoor units, even when the electronic valve is set to be closed off. Plus, I also get an audible pressure wave through the system at low heat output (while tapering off - note it is not the de-icing cycle), which could be damaging the refrigeration components.

I’ve had multiple Midea brand Aircon units over the years, only ever split system. And some of them work as intended, but I would say over half of them have had major faults. technician, I was basically scolded and told I was crazy, and that such an issue cannot happen so it was therefore not happening to me. The customer service itself is abysmal, at least for my area in Brisbane. The woman scolding me not once validated the existence of any issue with my aircon unit, and I got the heavy impression that she just did not want to send someone out to me. I am deeply unhappy with this service and with the poor performance of my aircon. I have had to resort to spending more of my own money paying a different technician not with Midea to diagnose and resolve my issue, as well as buying a seperate dehumidifier when I use my aircon unit. I usually do not make reviews but you NEED to air on the side of caution at the least when considering to associate with Midea. They have been cold and unwelcoming, and have more often then not had disappointing products, faulty even, while refusing to do anything about it.

Not Recommended at All I had 4 Midea split systems installed, all connected to a single outdoor unit — and the outdoor unit was faulty right from the start due to a fan issue. his van, took an old fan from a used outdoor unit, and tried to install that instead — completely unacceptable for a brand new system.

Despite multiple requests, Midea is only willing to replace the faulty part instead of the entire defective unit. This is not what I paid for, and certainly not the level of service or product quality I expected.

Very disappointed.

I’ve been using this Midea AC for a few weeks now and it’s honestly been great. It heats my room quickly, runs quietly, and looks nice and modern. Setup was simple, and I haven’t had any issues since. For the price, it really delivers. Only criticism is the app is a bit complicated & takes a while to get used to but got the hang of it now!

Had a 4 unit system put in a few months ago thinking about the winter and boy has it paid off, just had my first bill where we've been using the heating and I'm very pleased. A great thing which i didn't realise is that they come with built in WIFI, so when the kids have forgot to turn them off and the house is empty i have done it through my phone.

Great Installation with Elite, electrician was great and explained everything thoroughly. Couldn't be more happy with my Midea air conditioners. Nice and quiet, look great and are super quick at heating and cooling my space and my bills are so much less than they were before. Wish I pulled the trigger on this sooner! Wifi also works great and I have them integrated with my smart home set up.
