Get an electrician to check. Mine has never caused a problem. Maybe you've overloaded the circuit. How would I know?

Our Miele has the same issue - it's 18 yrs old. The bottom spray arm was actually hitting the element and it wore it down and blew the fuses. My dh, being handy, covered the element in mechanical grade silicon (turn of all electricity first), let it dry out thoroughly, and it worked great again for a couple of years. Recently it did it again (after our dd accidentally used a heat drying cycle), and no amount of silicon repair is helping - must be water leaking into the electrics.

So need to buy a new one. 18 yrs was a pretty good run though :)

Thanks HouseMouse, we took it to an electrician who fixed the problem, but we had to wait for parts. Now all good. Would still recommend a Miele.

We were able to pull the old dishwasher out from under the bench and the Miele slipped neatly into place. Just had to connect the pipes.It's the best dishwasher we've ever had.

Hi my dishwasher has not missed a beat no problems at all Twice it has an error code and the non return valve below the filter the was jammed with a piece of broken teacup handle . I had to scoop the water out which was about a litre or so in volume , pull the filter out and find the catch to pull out the non return valve that was jammed with the broken crockery . Then I removed the broken crockery and replaced it all in reverse The dishwasher comes with a 74 page manual with clear detailed instructions on how to do this . I have been very pleased with the dishwasher just wished I had purchased it earlier
