This dishwasher does not live up to expectations. Our old dishwasher broke so I sent Hubby off to buy a new one. This dishwasher was pitched to him "As Seen on The Block" and one that would be amazing. Well it isn't amazing. Firstly, we get it home and it needs salt to be added to ensure dishes are cleaned and dry. We live in North Queensland and the only place you can buy the salt needed is online. We finally get the salt, use the machine and nothing dries. Yes it has rinse aid but all my plastics are coming out still wet. I may as well be washing them in the sink. Really disappointed in this machine.

I gave Miele an opportunity to 'meditate' this issue with me and what a waste of time that was. After an agent reaching out to me, her question was "why did you even bother publishing on product review?" Clearly, I wasn't going to get anywhere ...

Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $1,649.

IT SHOULDN'T BE THIS HARD I have never had the money to buy this "high end" brand. Wish I hadnt. It was installed 2 weeks ago. The Miele installers pressed the "on" button and left. Then an "F11" sign came on. The machine never finished one cycle. I then called Miele. It took I hour of spirited argument to get them to agree to swap out my machine. They were insistent on sending "a technician" to try to fix it. No way.

I made a request that the installers stay til a cycle finishes. They were aghast at the thought as "they don't have time for that". Finally they agreed they would wait 5 minutes.

Good grief. Avoid Miele like the useless scammers they are

Purchased for $1,600.

Miele Needs to Improve Their Online Experience – After owning and being satisfied with a Miele dishwasher for the past 15 years, it was an easy decision to replace it with the latest model. Unfortunately, the online ordering and delivery process direct from Miele was a bit of a schemozzle, I ended up spending hours on hold and in the end never got the promised call back to sort out the final issue. We also had another issue (I guess partly our fault) in that we had previously had what Miele calls an "XL" model and the G5000 is not a direct replacement for that, it is a standard sized dishwasher. The Miele website doesn't make this clear. The problem is that whilst it now offers a third tray for cutlery, the dishwasher isn't as high internally as the XL model and in order to stack standard dinner plates in the bottom, the middle tray needs to be adjusted to a height where you can no longer stack even small wine glasses or side plates. If you follow Miele's stacking suggestions (wine glasses and side plates in the middle and dinner plates below) you literally can't slide the trays in. I would strongly suggest before you buy one of these, you go to the store with a dinner plate, a side plate and a wine glass and have a go at stacking things as they recommend and see if it works for you. We love the third cutlery tray we had on our previous Miele but I am not sure it is a good idea without the extra height. Since then, we have spoken with a customer advocate at Miele about our concerns and to their credit they have gone out of their way to make this good and to find a solution for us that works (we upgraded to the XL model). We were very happy with the level of support provided by the Miele customer advocate and Miele have promised to improve their online experience. Meantime, you might be better off buying through a retailer as the price is the same.

Dream of a dishwasher – This is my second Miele dishwasher and I am a convert! I spent my younger years scrubbing and sudsing piles and piles of dishes as I am an avid cook and entertainer. When I bought a unit and redesigned the kitchen I was told a dishwasher was 'compulsory' if I was to attract tenants in the future. I relented and bought a Miele on the recommendation of the kitchen manufacturer. Having done my homework, I realised that the brand does not come cheap, but the performance really does measure up to the price tag. Fast forward to this purchase and once again Miele has delivered sparkling clean dishes at the push of a button. My pots and pans have copper bottoms that usually require special attention, but this dishwasher restores the copper to a gleaming quality that I usually only see after hard elbow grease. The top cutlery rack means I never find any silverware in the bottom of the machine and the layout of the racks means I don't need to waste time re-organising dirty dishes. Thanks Miele .. I am a fan!
