Miele, wake up – Bought it when my new house was built back 6 years ago. it does it's job without any issues when it works. Unfortunately, the pump was broken after 5 years, which costed nearly 800$ alone without any installation. I managed to get it fixed, one year later, the error F79 came up, it's not the inlet valve, it's the control board issue, which costs… Read more

more than 1K to repair it.

ppl says Miele will last 12-18 year without any issues, but how come it only has 2-year warranty? mine has broken twice in 6 years.

it is simply not worthy the money at all!

Never buy Miele again – Has proved to be problematic since purchase. It repeatedly failed to operate during warranty and was repaired. Since the end of warranty it continuously develops various error warnings, F24 for example. Repairmen come to fix the problem and do not. Finally, I fixed the issue by purchasing the broken part and installing it myself. Now it has… Read more

stopped working again. No error signal. The buttons do not respond. Tried resetting to original factory settings but no success. This dishwasher has broken down 15-20 times in the last five years, cost money in repairs and has never functioned properly. We've tried to contact Miele many, many times - never had a response. Disappointing as we previously had a Miele that lasted for many years and always worked fine. I will never buy a Miele product again.

motor died after 5 years, cost $$$ to repair or replace – the dishwasher in my investment property died after 5.5 years, my agent cannot reach to a miele representative, so we called in another local handyman, I was told the motor died and will cost $7xx to fix or get another brand replacement, but i am expecting a miele product to last 20 years, not just 5 years and with a dead motor. is this serious, is this what miele's product? Show details

Fails everything except noise – We previously had a Miele for about 15 years and were happy with it in all respects. Then it died. We bought a new Miele, even though their selling system to get around Australian laws regarding retail price maintenance bothered me a bit. First thing we noticed is that it is designed for lots of champagne flutes, not for family plates and dishes.… Read more

We actually went back to Miele and recovered the bottom drawer from our old dishwasher as it had a much more usable layout. It doesn't clean as well, so we always now have to prewash - water and a scrub for everything. Bought in Feb 2016, this year some of the holder "teeth" in the cutlery tray have been breaking off, it's like they deteriorate with the heat of washing. And now, prompting me to write a review, the springs in the door just died, so the door just flops heavily to the floor. This machine is not even 4 years old! It's probably fair to say that we have lost faith in Miele, and will not buy another or recommend it.

Almost perfect - give it 4.75 out of 5. Rounded up to 5 on star ranking – Every one at work said go Bosch or Miele for dish washes. My parents had a miele growing up at it lasted for decades. It did a superb job as well. While miele is more expensive that Bosch given my experience with miele dish washes in the past I forked out the extra cash for this. This one did not disappoint! POINTS

* Perfect clean

* Not noisy at all, barely know its on

Only room I can see for possible improvement

* Washes take an extremely long time. Over 2hrs. Not really a big deal for us. We put the wash on and forget about it.

* Plastic comes out drip wet. We then leave it on a rack to dry. There may be setting for less of an energy efficient wash that would use more heat to dry them? I'm not sure. Everything else comes out fine. Metal cutlery and ceramics are completely dry.

I guess I also pre rinse my wash. Not sure how it would handle really dirty, dirty unrinsed stuff. Then again, that is bad for many other reasons.

Very quiet, works well, is expensive – This is a really quiet dishwasher and works very well most of the time (but we tend to pre-rinse and stack it sensibly so we make its job fairly easy). We use the long and efficient cycle (sensor wash) mostly - over 2 hours but running it overnight, so it makes no difference. The fast wash is the main feature in favour of this one over the… Read more ·  1

model below, which we previously had for about 2 years in our old place. Initial findings (we've only had it a couple of months) are that the fast wash is not as effective as sensor wash (no surprise really) but does work better if you just chuck the tablet (if you use tablets as we do) in the bottom of the machine rather than in the little compartment. Tablets don't even fully dissolve on the fast wash otherwise.

Another "feature" this has is the top cutlery drawer, but I don't like that as much as the old basket in the bottom (more time consuming and fiddly to fill than just dumping everything in the basket, and it limits the height of things you can stack on the top shelf more, though of course it frees up a bit of space in the bottom drawer).

The buttons do have a nicer, slightly higher quality feel than the ones on our previous one. Like all Miele gear it's poisonously expensive. But no regrets so far.

Multiple issues, but resolved by Meile – Nothing but trouble with multiple Miele Appliances, supposed to be the best on the market. 1. Dead after less than 3 years – This dishwasher is by far the lowest quality appliance I have ever own. Bought the Miele dishwasher in March 2017 for $1700 labelled as 'high quality Made in Germany product' at Bing Lee. In February 2020 with less than 3 years in operation (3 times usage per week), the dishwasher suddenly blew the electrical fuse due to an internal short cut in the dishwasher. Show details ·  2

Dishwasher is good but takes alot of time to wash – its a good dishwasher but doensot do well on a quick program (45 minutes) , it wash pretty well on longer programs that are 1 hour 15 minutes long. Other than that no problems, wash perfectly , no marks on the plates after wash. Its Cutlery tray is great , it has lots of space.  Show details

Disappointing – Had it fixed twice in the past two years and one day after getting it fixed for the second time it has the F24 error AGAIN! Apparently need to wait one month for a part to come from Germany then pay for that part and labour again after paying $300 for the other part and labour that I paid two days ago. I would NOT buy a Miele dishwasher again – The circulation pump and main PCB electronic board failed after 5 years of operation, cost of repairs was $1619. I bought a Miele for its reputation, expecting 20 years life. I should have bought a cheap brand and replaced it after 5 years. We kept it very clean, so the fault was not ours. On the other hand it was an excellent machine while it worked. Show details

Not a very good dishwasher – Just after the warranty finshed there was F14 error. The problem was the pump failed. Got fixed with a new Miele pump same problem few months later. Just poor quality dishwasher. Miele Customer Care did try to help by giving a new pump. But this Dishwasher model is terrible. Not fit for purpose – We had a major kitchen renovation 3 1/2 years ago which included purchasing a Miele Oven and Dishwasher. The oven is fine, but the dishwasher is a disaster. progressively got worse to a stage where many of these spikes are now detached which means that the cutlery draw on our dishwasher is now no longer fit for purposes. We have been overseas and interstate for a total of more than 36 weeks, so the machine has not had a lot of use. So far our negotiations with Miele have been time consuming and frustrating. They expect us to pay $280 for a new cutlery draw and a $179 Service Call. Shortest cycle is 45 minutes, and it does not dry the dishes well – The title says it all. The shortest cycle is 45 minutes, and the dishes do not dry completely. Have to run for at least 1 hour and 25 minutes for the dishes to dry up properly. Not energy efficient at all. Hate it – Hate this dishwasher! Had a Miele dishwasher for 20 years and loved it. Purchased this new one trusting it would have 20 years of improvements. 1. Despite the overall outer dimensions being bigger the inside just doesn't seem to fit our dishes. Miele should sell it with a crockery set as for the life of us we can barely fit anything into it.… Read more

Every spot seems too small. We are lucky to fit half the dishes we used to. We gave this thing the benefit of time. We thought that this problem disappear after we had learned to stack the dishes differently. BUT NOPE!

2. It doesn't dry the dishes!!!!! WTH. Probably some stupid energy saving feature but I am back to wiping dishes with a tea towel before putting them away.

3. The trays constantly slide back into the dishwasher which make it extremely annoying to empty.

4. It doesn't wash very well. Probably another energy saving feature. These days we usually put it through a double cycle to get everything clean. There goes the energy savings!

Final assessment. Don't buy it. Its sole purpose in life is to wash and dry dishes which it does a terrible job. the only good thing I can say about it is that it's quiet. But you should kind of expect that for a machine that doesn't do much.

If I had to make the decision again i would spend whatever it cost to refurbish our 20yr old Miele. Alas it was good.

away. With its Sensors, It can sense how many dishes are in it for a wash so it saves on energy using less water, it senses how dirty the dishes are, has 6 different wash cycles, it has a 3D cutlery tray which I love as my old one had a basket. I have not had any second goes at washing any dishes, I have try some very hard to clean, dried up grit on some dishes and they all came out clean.

My old dishwasher was fairly noisy, the new dishwasher is so quite I can barely hear it running.

What are your favourite features? I really like the Sensor wash, it senses how many dishes and how dirty they are before it washes, then sets up how much water and energy it will use.

Very quiet but dishes still wet and some not very clean – I purchased this Miele to replace a Miele that was existing in the property when we purchased the property. Kids would sometimes ask me ifvthe dish washing machine is on because we can not hear it, especially when the TV is on. At night when we go to sleep we can hardly hear the dishwasher.

I do not overload this dishwasher. However I find have found at times (not always) a couple of dishes not come out clean. Could be the way I loaded the dishwasher.

The moveable top rack for cutlery is very handy as it allows for additional space to load slightly larger items on the second rack. The fact that there is a cutlery rack is a big bonus as it does not take space away from the bottom rack for big bowls and plates etc. I can definitely fit a lot more into this dishwasher than a conventional one which does not have the top cutlery rack.

I had the option to upgrade to a slightly higher model where the door can open lower (or wider?). I chose not to and am glad I didn't. The door to this dishwasher opens big enough to allow access, loading and unloading of all items that is dishwasher safe.

I have found finding a place to fit large cups (in height) difficult as the second rack can only fit cups no bigger than a mug and the lower rack in my household I tend to need for large bowls and plates.

Overall very happy with this Miele although with this price I do expect all dishes to come out sparking clean 100% of the time as dishes are stacked according to the racks provided.

Happy overall – Purchased new dishwasher in Feb 2017 from Bing Lee. Miele delivered on time. The Installer from Bing Lee was very professional. Initially I found that it left things quite wet- however if you open the door very soon after it finishes and let the steam escape it… Read more

will then leave most things dry. The top model I think has an automatic door open function. I just use straight dishwasher detergent or tables which already have rinse aid mixed is so don't have to worry about separate rinse aid.

The flat cutlery shelf I have found very good after initial trepidation. I actually kept the basket from my old dishwasher but have not used it. If you insert the cutlery organised into sections it makes unpacking very quick.

Also not having a cutlery basket on the bottom shelf makes it easier to fit large dishes.

It seems to wash well although I usually rinse dishes first and only run the machine every few days using the light soiling cycle. It is very quiet.

It does not fit tall glasses easily so these need to go on the lowest shelf and I have not tried wine glasses yet.

So overall I am happy with the purchase after one month of use.

cabinets. Love the sensor wash with auto half load option with 6.5 litres of water being used. My cutlery is coming out cleaner than it ever was with hand wash. Plastic containers work better in bottom basket with just minor bits of water left in place and followed the instructions to open door and leave for 30 minutes. Decided to use all the Miele detergents as the dishwasher detergent you can buy in grocery stores does not seem to get great rating with consumer.org and first impressions it is working well. Very easy controls to use, when you turn it on the last cycle is highlighted plus the dishwasher is sensing the load to give you best wash at the shortest time, plus you have a turbo option if you need the dishes done faster without sacrificing the wash

2 main reasons why this Miele G 6100 SCU Dishwasher fails :

1. the stainless steel cutlery etc are streaked as the condensation in the machine does not escape at the end of cycle , the Miele Service man told me that i should of bought the more expensive unit and i would not have had this problem, i spent about $1700 and i get streaked cutlery?

2. the dinner plates do not stack properly and have a tendency to fall out of their racks and lay against each other which causes them not to wash between them as there is no gap to allow washing to occur, in fact this dishwasher is terrible to stack its like they designed it to suit dishes / Glasses from another planet , this is a design fault that cannot be resolved according to miele service man. we even tried another dinner plate set to no avail.

So how can we be expected to live with these issues , well miele said they will take the unit back and give me a refund minus 20% of the units cost , i said to miele on the phone you have got to be kidding , i have done everything i can to try to keep this dishwasher and adapt and make allowances for its shortcomings so surely after only 3 months of trying to make it work i should get full refund especially as mieles serviceman agreed with these issues being present. i am certain that they try to make you keep the dishwasher by keeping 20 % but as i said to miele customer service i expect a full refund as the dishwasher fails to perform as it should do. bearing in mind that our family has had a dishwasher since the 1970's i feel very competent in owning and operating this dishwasher, i am a huge fan of technology but this unit fails in that department as the basics of its operations do not come up to par. to be honest this all feels a bit like the Emperors New Clothes ( you are told that you are getting the best and it is this and its that but really its an illusion )

Miele has so far declined to give me a full refund and will only refund the cost minus 20% , i have given miele any and all opportunities to rectify the issues so after 3 months of trying to make it work and i am pretty sure that as per consumer law i should be fully entitled to a full refund. if you think miele stands by its products then think twice before you buy . one last word on Miele Customer Service , they say that they need to consult and call you back tomorrow , well on two occasions , first a woman said she would call me back tomorrow i gave her my number and then the next day no call , so i called again and had to tell the whole story again to another customer service man ( Liam ) and he took my number again and you guessed it he did not call , so i called again and again spoke to another person and etc etc etc. the first customer service lady was rude to me when i tried to clarify what she was saying , she said "don't interrupt me when i am talking " in general Miele customer service means that you are going to be Handled as miele want to handle you, don't expect customer service , expect rudeness and absolutely no follow up , if you want any thing to happen you will have to really hunt them down, Miele is not in any way the Rolls Royce of appliances as Miele is all about $ before Reputation, hate to say it especially as i have german heritage , German is no longer synonymous with Quality if this scenario is something to go by. its a shame you can't try before you buy ??

NOT HAPPY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND - Beware - NO MIELE INSTALL NO WARRANTY – I had a Miele Dishwasher delivered yesterday morning and had paid for the install. electrician to fix it. There was another power point next to the offending power point but he declined to use it. He said HE COULD install the new machine into the dishwasher location but could not actually connect it up - despite saying that it was against Miele's policy to do that but he would do me a favour and that he would organise for a refund of my install fee. Which at the time I thought was very kind of him. They spent a good 30-40 minutes aligning the machine and pushing and pushing it back into position. It was an underbench model and was supposed to be flush with the cupboards, they told me that there was an issue with the depth of my cupboard and after pushing and pulling the inlet/outlet hose at the back they screwed it into position. I said that I would not connect the machine into the offending power point until it was fixed and he showed me what I had to do, ie connect the water and attach the outlet hose with the jubilee clip that he also left me. I had not paid for the old dishwasher to be removed ($30) and asked him if he could still remove the dishwasher for me. I asked him who I would pay and how I would pay for the $30 ie pay them or contact David Jones/Miele for payment. He again said don't worry about it we will just take it away for you, which I was very appreciative of. I said are you sure and he confirmed yes. Before he left he got me to sign on the delivery docket that he did not install the machine. He advised me that he would get into trouble if the company found out that he installed the machine - barring connecting the water and plugging it in.

After the electrician had been I plugged in the machine and connected the water and put it on Quick Wash as the installer had advised. An error message F84 appeared on the indicator panel. The inlet/drain and the rinse aid came lights came on.

After going through the manual it said contact Miele. I called them up immediately and advised them what happened - they literally turned this around like it was my fault. They said that if I had not had their install I would be charged $169 call out fee which included 30 mins labour plus $6.20 per 3 mins thereafter and started trying to blame the electrician - who actually did not even touch the dishwasher as there was no need because it had already been installed by the Miele personnel. THIS MACHINE HAD ONLY BEEN IN MY HOUSE FOR 4 HOURS AND I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT TO START.

They cannot get anyone here until Thursday morning - where they are sending a Tech out. I am absolutely APPALLED - I have paid $1699 for this product, they physically installed the item - (Impossible for me to do it as I have a back injury) and are possibly going to charge me all of the above fees and have also taken my old dishwasher away. So now I have No dishwasher and definitely NO functioning dishwasher.

I have been an AVID BOSCH purchaser for many years and all the sales people I spoke too told me I was getting a great product which I thought would last me 10-15 years or more. I CANNOT EVEN GET THIS THING STARTED AND THROUGH THEIR PRE-USE WASH. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MIELE AND REGRET NOT STAYING WITH BOSCH.

MIELE'S Customer Service were extremely rude - they did not listen to what I had to say and were also rude to the David Jones Sales lady who also spoke to them.

Sure I may have got a lemon and as far as I am concerned they should replace straight away as I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG. I shall be contacting Department of Fair Trading with regards to this.

Also PLEASE NOTE. THEY DO NOT ADVISE YOU ABOUT THIS WARRANTY/INSTALL ISSUE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE - SO BEWARE IF YOU THINK YOU CAN INSTALL YOURSELF I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT ADVISE IT. IN FACT JUST DON'T BUY MIELE. If they can treat me like this at the beginning of the purchase it really does not say anything for their warranty or Customer Service.

Im not even sure if the Sales People are trained/aware of the Warranty/Install situation. The lady at David Jones was not aware of this and was also appalled - so it would pay to double check.

If there is no resolution to this situation I would be more than happy to send this damn machine back and will go and purchase Bosch. Their products I have had for years ie washing machine, dishwasher, dryer with no problems whatsoever.

Beware: no rinse and hold cycle – I like everything about this dishwasher, BUT, for all its fancy features, it doesn't even have a basic rinse and hold cycle. This is very disappointing for people like me who are energy and water conscious. Also it takes a while for me to fill my dishwasher. Rinsing stops smells; I would have thought it was an essential function. I have since… Read more

discovered that everyone has very idiosyncratic ways of using their dishwasher. (Some hand rinse first and never use a rinse cycle, even if their machine has one), some wipe dishes before stacking etc.etc.) Miele tried to help by suggesting alternatives, but never actually stated the truth. This model does not have a rinse/pre-wash and hold program. I wish I'd bought a model that did. I researched brands, but didn't think I'd need to look closely at the cycles!

Dishes And Glasses Always Come Out Wet – Purchased the new Miele prior to xmas to replace our Brandt dishwasher. Wish I had got another Brandt. It is most annoying that I have to continually hand dry dishes and glasses after removal from the appliance. Rinse and appears to make no difference. Why won't a $1900 Miele dry the dishes and glasses?
