were already owners of a Miele washing machine. The set up wasn’t easy but manageable and have not really had problems with connections. The right hand brush stopped working after a number of months and the seal in the dust bin fell off one day. The real problem is the service. I have written three emails to Miele service and included general enquires including once to Germany without any reply. I believe that at the time of my first email to service the vacuum was in warranty. Not one reply. This from world renowned appliance company who promote the quality and longevity of their products. Between the washing machine and the vacuum it has not been a great experience although reasonably expensive.
Love Miele, this would have to be the worst item they have – So my boss kindly brought this for me after saying I wanted a robo vacuum. Lucky girl I know. But ... it. 2. The app is woeful. And even upon emailing Miele for support (as stated on the other reviews), they don't get back to you. If you have had such an influx of bad reviews I don't understand how something cannot be fixed by the tech department? It never saves your information so you're constantly having to reset it with the serial numbers etc 3. It comes up with a barrage of errors constantly 4. It gets stuck more often than it vacuums 5. It never really returns home 6. I've just stopped using it and it is now just a dust collector.
My sister (and now mother) both have a Hoover, which work perfectly for half the price. I'm inclined to sell mine on marketplace and buy one of those, this would have been done already if it wasn't a gift.
In good faith I couldn't recommend the product, which is a pity because I love the brand itself.
Everything works except the cloud connection via the app (IOS) – Hard to find customer service or support online whilst the product isn't listed on the website. Following the manual to factory reset it or trying to add an existing cleaner. All stopped at failing to connect the cloud server. The app was working fine without sign-on. the test-clean into each room individually. I heard people said I could 'draw' the barrier to stop the cleaner go beyond but I found no more information and manual doesn't talk about it.
One significant problem to operate the cleaner between carpet and wooden floor is the brush would go below the carpet and can't climb over easily.

It took several days and contact with the Miele customer support team to try and set the robot up. We got the basic functionality operating, and in the 18 months we've had the robot I think we have successfully connected through the app only a handful of times. The instructions that are given to connect don't match with what actually happens and even now I can only use the app as long as I am not logged in and operate through our wifi.
The first few weeks we gave it the benefit of the doubt with the total randomness of where it went - as it learning the layout of the house. But that hasn't ever actually improved. Sometimes it does the same room 4 or 5 times and totally misses the rest of the house. Sometimes it just does one part of the house, other days it does other sections of the house. Very rarely does it come back to base and go back for more cleaning once it has recharged. In fact it very rarely makes it back to the base to recharge, getting lost along the way. Because I cannot connect to the vac whilst logged in it never retains the map of the house, so I am always trying to work out what part of the house it has made it to from very vague sections of map when they are available. It also means that we cannot set up virtual barriers to stop it getting into areas of the house where there are many things it will get caught on.
After about 2 months it went lame - with the front wheel not functional. Occasionally it works and spins like no tomorrow and then stops again. (See video) .. the video will also show how ineffective it is at sweeping and sucking up debris from vinyl floors. I spoke again with Customer Service who said to return it to the place of purchase to send to service. The place of purchase said to send it directly to Miele. Customer service gave us an address to give to the place of purchase but no one wanted to take any responsibility for it going anywhere to be looked at. Hence, after all this time it still has not made it to service.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, a friend, after listening to my constant tales of woe of what was meant to be my favourite and greatest purchase of all time, brought over their robot (NOT a Miele - good on them !) for a good old fashioned show down. To no-ones surprise, after sending my RX2 over a room and then my friends over the room their vac picked up twice as much as my Miele (that had JUST FINISHED !) I's just so so disappionted in every aspect of the this vac.
After 18 months of ownership of this robot vac I would NOT recommend it
My experience in summary: * Only 1 sweeping wheel works most of the time; * Suction on hard floors is useless. There is a carpet suction function which is much better than what is applied for hard floors, but cannot be selected for hard floors. * It very rarely ever navigates back to it's charging station. * It's mostly incompatible with the app. * It burrows under furniture and in places it really isn't meant to go. It's like it takes a challenge from getting into the most ridiculous and tiny space it possibly can. * It stops for no apparent reason. Like theres something there, but theres not. Clear vision, no dust, just stops. * Gets stuck on something like a lip of the carpet but then tries to mountaineer a pair of shoes only throwing an error when it's on the top. * It has no natural predators, if it did it would be extinct by now without a doubt. * I'm so much more than disappointed. I waited and researched for so long to get a great quality and reputable brand of robot vacuum only to be thoroughly let down at it's inability to do even the most basic of robot vac functions well.
I've always admired people who could afford to have Miele products in their home, and lament at how happy they must be, but alas I will not be joining those ranks if this is the quality I can expect from products being produced by this company now. If I could give this review no stars I would.
does the cleaning well, but – Moved over magnetic tape and fell down stairs. All 14 steps. Rumba has sensors that respond to steps and prevents falling. This one doesn't. Сleans up well when not crashing down from stairs. Show details

motherboard and wheels. They said something like the internal parts are sub-par. Got it back two weeks ago. It rarely finds it way back to base unassisted, gets stuck- seeking to burrow under furniture it does not have clearance for, stuck in corners where there is ample room to get out of, constantly needs supervision.
I have longed to have a Miele product most of my adult life because of their great reputation. Normally would not spend the expense on a Miele product. I did this time. I am so very disappointed and very cross at the failure of this product.

Complete waste of money!! – The app is useless, as stated by many reviews you can't go passed the pairing page, the robot itself is the dumbest I have ever seen, I bought it to replace my 6 year old LG robot but my god this thing is so much worse, it doesn't navigate smart at all, every time it gets to a corner it spins on itself 7-9 times (seems lost) sometimes it doen's… Read more
even clean a whole room, it does half and it just stops and says finished... The cleaning tecnique is very random, it reminds me of the old roomba's from 10 years ago. at the price these retail at I can almost buy 3 Xiaomi robot vacuums!!! Still needs some refining – As with with electronics the RX2 Home Vision has its issues. I believe mainly to do with the software and app connection via the cloud. no issues with the cleaning, it gets into all the corners with its little brushes. It’s great to run as a every day vac to keep the dust at bay. Would it replace your normal vac, no but does a great job for what it is. Would I recommend it? Yes. Hopefully Germany can sort out the software issues then it would be perfect.
