Turbo head stopped working every 12 months – Used the Miele stick for 1 year. Hard to empty canister. Fills far too quickly. The turbo head stopped spinning as soon as it went on the carpet after using the vacuum for 1 year. Miele replaced it after a lot of phone calls. I had to post it to their repair shop myself. Was fixed but exactly 1 year later the same turbo head stopped working. It is… Read more
made of plastic and just wears out. We use the vacuum on timber floors and carpet only. We have a cleaner who uses her own vacuum so you can imagine we did not use the stick as often as most people. So disappointed as we have many Miele products. I would not recommend this product.
Great suction on pet hair (better than previous Dyson stick) but dust container is way to small. If you vacuumed a 3 bedroom home with pets once a week you will empty it about 5 times. The dust filter also detaches and flings dust everywhere due to design flaw. Also battery power runs out way too quick. I vacuumed front and rear foot wells in my car and it battery went dead. Dust goes flying everywhere. This vacuum developed a problem within warranty period where the fine dust filter randomly pops out itself leaving fine dust flying into your face. Big design flaw, health risk and am amazed this was not fixed in the production unit. Never again buying a Miele vacuum based on this alone. Show details

I'm highly recommending this Miele TRIFLEX HX1 PRO – I Had bought it from Harvey Norman Chadstone.... I immediately charged it....... It Worked brilliantly... Especially the light on the end.... WOW.... I was impressed..... After 1 week I went to use it, but battery was flat, couldn't understand it because it was always plugged in..... I used it the next day it was working..... A week later it was… Read more · 1
flat again.... By this time, I had enough, and I took it back to Harvey Norman... Salesgirl told me it was going to take 4-5 weeks.... I couldn't leave it for that long, so I decided to ring Miele on the way home to get it fixed a lot quicker... They had recommended to take it to one of their repair shops to get it checked out..... But when I arrived home the Sales manager rang me, and I had explained that the vacuum cleaner had a mind of its own... The vacuum cleaner comes with 2 batteries... He went through his manual instructions and apparently the battery that was being charged at the mains had to be charged at the capsule....... GOD BLESS HIM AND THE SALESGIRL..... ALL FIXED.... But Miele has to have a program where they teach their staff on appliances... Not just throw them in the deep end... Even the girl at Miele headquarters should have understood when all I kept saying was "This vacuum cleaner has a mind of its own..... I'm highly recommending this vaccum cleaner to anyone and everyone...... Can't go wrong with word of mouth.......... Jeppo
Great Stick vac - does what it says – We have a large house with multiple floor types kids with long hair and pets so it gets a work out and I must say it does very well. Uneven slate, floating floors no problems; although on the wool carpet the canister fills up really quickly. Wish that was bigger. Good suction on the low setting and can get most of the house done on one… Read more · 1
battery, love that I can just swap it with the 2nd battery and keep going. Aside from small capacity for dust the only other issue I have with the HX1 is long hair as it gets wrapped around the head and has to be cleared with a knife. That needs work, hopefully they can improve on that for the next version.
Best setup is with the motor at the bottom just above head so its balanced and can stand upright on its own. Weight doesn't strain your arm then.
Also like the way you can dissemble the dust canister and most of the head as well, very handy if something gets stuck. Hopefully newer versions have made some improvements.
Would buy again.
A bit disappointing! – Being a follower of Brand Names, I had little hesitation purchasing the Miele. At $590 this cordless Vac is probably described as mid range. It comes with a wall mounting bracket which is fairly simple to screw into position. The charging cable fits into the bottom of the cradle but is NOT really secure. A number of times we have seated the Vac… Read more
back into the cradle but the charge cable has failed to slot home, resulting in no charge. Dismantling the dust catcher is also more awkward than difficult but has required both my Wife and I to work out where the bits go and how to get it off and rehouse it! The Vac has 3 settings, basically Low, Medium and High. The low is not always successful at picking up dirt, the high is successful but the battery life would only allow for one big room or two small ones. Medium is ok but it is possible to run over gritty items several times before it picks up. Battery life on Medium allows me to get round our 3 bedroom house if I'm quick. I am led to believe an additional battery may cost as much as $200 which is barely viable on a $590 spend. Overall, it is ok but maybe I should have gone to the Dyson!

Too hard to take apart – Problem with taking it apart in order to use the Hand held option. I appear to not be strong enough to do this unless you have any suggestions.
The best! – Best stick vacuum on the market. I had a well known hyped up stick vaccum for a while and was so disappointed by its performance. I then decided to go with Miele. It is the best one in the market. I think I have the cheapest, it’s still better than anything. I have two little kids and Miele does a wonderful job in cleaning their mess. Recommend million times and over! Show details · 1
Best vacuum I’ve ever owned – A fantastic vacuum for ease of use, weight and strength of suction. I can just never remember how it goes back together after emptying and I wish it would hold its charge longer. Very happy with my purchase. Show details

Great until it wasn’t – Initially loved the vacuum but after 3 years the head motor blew out. It’s no longer under warranty and the cost to repair it was the same as buying a new one; over $400. Would not recommend. The Dyson I had prior last longer and their customer service you could not fault. Show details
Not up to the Miele standard – After having a number of Miele vacuums and being very happy with them, I had little hesitation in buying their stick vacuum. Regrettably I must say it’s embarrassing that it has the Miele badge on it. It has poor suction, particularly with the brush head on. The brush doesn’t spin easily at all, and the light on the head stopped working after the… Read more
first month (bought it in May this year). Really disappointed with this vacuum. We have had, and still have, multiple appliances and vacs from this brand. Really expected better from it
The worst vacuum cleaner! – This vacuum cleaner started to have issues within 1 year of usage. There was a burning smell, the light stopped working, the brush stopped rolling & suction was very poor. I took it back to JB Hi Fi & they sent it off for repairs. The repair took longer than expected, so I received a new one. AGAIN, less than a year , the same issues appeared. I will have to take it back again! Not happy after paying $1100 for this product! Show details

Triflex poor on wooden floor - look to adapt for soft floor roller – On purchasing product explained our home is primarily wooden floors and yet only the Triflex PRO model comes with the Soft floor roller brush( equivalent to Dyson Fluffy head). The Miele UK site clearly shows that this part is available for purchase (£42)and suitable for HX model and yet Miele Australia will not supply and is trying to sell me entire brush head for $457. Perfect cordless vac – We had 2 different vac sticks before and both were useless (one of them is a VAX). This Miele cordless vacuum cleaner is just as good and powerful as the full-corded one. Very happy with the purchase. Would recommend it to anyone who is in need of a great cordless vacuum cleaner. Show details
Good but filter falls out – Very satisfied with this vac but the Filter will not lock in. If I lay the unit down to shift a chair for example, the dusty filter falls out depositing dirt nearby. SINCE THIS REVIEW HOWEVER, MEILE GOT IN TOUCH WITH ME AND REPLACED THE COMPLETE CANISTER UNIT INCLUDING FILTER. I HAVE HAD NO TROUBLE WITH IT SINCE USING THE VAC WITH THE REPLACEMENT UNIT. Had issues but resolved by Miele support team – Product stopped working after 1 month. Only the noise comes from the motor without anything getting cleaned/vacuumed Gave product for repair via Godfreys as that's where I purchased it originally. They took over 3-4 weeks without clear indication of when it will get fixed. Only when I reviewed here, i was contacted by Sam from Miele and she… Read more · 2
resolved it quickly by offering a replacement vacuum.
Lesson learnt to not go via Godfreys for Miele product repair as they waste about 2 weeks in transit itself. Reach out to Miele directly to save your time.
Not great if you want it repaired – Bought this because I have serious allergy. My pro hx1 is still under warranty. Bought it from JB hifi. I stopped using the vacc when I smelt burning smell from the vent, which was melting. It’s been sent through for repair for more than 1 month but hasn’t come back yet. JBHIFI is not very helpful. They said I’ll just have to wait. Show details

Not very impressed – Purchased Oct 2020 when it was brand new on the market. Have had an excellent standard pull along style Miele vaccum for many years, so thought this would be good. altogether and the brush stops rotating as well. The suction motor still working. I either wait and wriggle it, or switch off and back on to get it going again. Battery fully charged. Doesn't vaccum floors at all well if the Electrobrush floor tool not working. Took it back to Harvey Norman as instructed in August when still under warranty.
Not repaired yet. Not sure what will happen from here, but is ridiculous for such an expensive item. Either got a dodgy rotating head or a bad connection to it.

Faulty Rotating Head – I have had the vacuum for 18 months. The head stopped rotating and I was told I had to send it back to be fixed with no replacement head in the meantime. I contacted Miele and they told me I have no choice… Read more
but to go through the same process again and they cannot tell me how long it will take. I looked for a temporary head while they are fixing it but it is not an option. The lady in customer service was lovely but the company policy is terrible. Very disappointed and after only ever having Miele vacuums this will be my last.
Waste of time and money - Unreliable product, compounded by poor customer service – Motorhead stopped spinning just 2 weeks out of warranty. - when you're paying this much money, you expect either a quality product or good customer service. This product had neither - Process of getting this fixed has been frustrating and misleading, lack of respect for customers' time. - Miele had changed their mind 5 times. time. Still not resolved 1) Miele initially informed that warranty would be honoured. Advised just return to place of purchase. However this was NOT the case. 2) lugged vacuum cleaner all the way back to place of purchase on advice of Miele, only to be turned away and told Miele has provided wrong advice 3) called Miele again, who confirmed the mistake 4) Miele then advised if I send photos of vacuum cleaner via email, a new floor head can be sent out 5) Shortly afterwards, I was also told this advice was also WRONG and I actually needed to send the product to their workshop. Was not told I would be potentially charged for assessment fee. This information was sneakily sent through in an email. Been a loyal customer for decades but you can be your bottom dollar I'll now be purchasing with your competitor.

Scratches hardwood floors, even mentions it in the manual 'susceptible to scratching', very annoyed – Only a few weeks old. Great suction that works really well on carpet and floors, but now have multiple scratches around the house on our hardwood floors. The electrobrush catches small bits of dirt or sand and drags it across the polyurethane coating on our hardwood floors leaving long deep scratches. Disappointed to open the manual and read on… Read more
page 25 'The Electrobrush can be used for all normal cleaning of carpets, rugs and hard flooring which is not susceptible to scratching' - are you kidding? Would suggest Miele develop a basic brush for hardwood timber floors. Like others have mentioned, I'm also a little skeptical on the durability of its mostly plastic construction. When you knock the electrobrush into walls, furniture, etc you can feel the connectors flexing which drops suction pressure temporarily. Will be returning to try another brand.
The head snapped after hitting a plastic kitty litter box – The head of the Vac hit a plastic kitty litter tray and snapped, not great build quality or design. Have put a ticket in to miele but reading the responses here im not hopeful of a good resolution and foresee having to lodge a complaint with fair trading. Show details

Aggressive rotating stiff brush is damaging my rugs and carpets – Ok, I was a Miele Fan and a customer who has purchased many Miele products in the past, so I purchased the Triflex HX1 Pro Infinity, a top end cordless vacuum at cost of $1199. I use it on travertine flooring, wool carpet and wool rugs. After about a couple of weeks I discovered it was physically pulling the fibres out of my rugs and carpet. The… Read more
roller brush became bound tightly with the torn fibres requiring them to be cut free from the roller head brush with scissors. I repeated the process every two weeks or so until the roller bearings disintegrated. Although I purchased from Miele direct I was advised to go to a third party repairer 18kms away. Two weeks later I drove another 18kms to collect my vacuum head. Ok it was repaired, but my carpets and rugs are trashed. Yes it is powerful and it collects dirt, but it is DESTROYING my RUGS and CARPET. It is so bad that it leaves tram lines in my carpet. It's about two months since repair and the roller bearings are already worn badly and may fail again soon. I have rated it Two stars because it is compact and powerful, but if you like your carpets and rugs FORGET IT. I wait on the phone for 45 minutes at a time and the call drops out. I try again and again....This is hopeless & disappointing. I notice now after further research that this is a common issue reported by many customers. So, what are Miele doing to resolve it....Nothing at all yet. I am very, very, very unhappy.
Total garbage, and not the service I expected from Miele. ARE THERE ANY GOOD STICK VACS OUT THERE!? – After too many disappointing experiences with the early Dyson stick vacs, we were excited to pick up the Triflex after having other traditional Miele vacuums lasting more than a decade. Unfortunately, it’s basically been a $799 wall ornament…. At first, I was impress at the setup, function and suction. We live in a small 2-bedroom flat with a… Read more
couple kids, mostly wooden floors and a couple rugs both short and long pile.
First disappointing thing was the bin emptying, which was marketed as no touch and hygienic. Apart from being clunky and messy to disconnect, I haven’t once had all the dust empty without sticking fingers or a utensil up there to clear it.
The biggest product issue though was the power head / brush, which apart from being constantly clogged with hair and rug piles, stopped working after a few weeks of use. This resulted in it being mostly useless, and then we had nearly no suction when using the other attachments.
We bought it when COVID meant there was only click and collect and no customer service centre in person. I emailed both the retailer and Miele to request a warranty repair replace (2 year warranty). What ensued was a 12mth back and forth email game with no one accepting responsibility or offering any solution to help. Usually waiting 1-2 months between responses to customer service, Miele says they can’t help so go to the retailer. retailer was closed during covid so contacted head office, who said go to the store (which I couldn’t). Ultimately I hold Miele responsible as it’s their name on the side, and as of last week, they still won’t help. Pretty disappointing, waste of money from a premium appliance company which we have 4+ great items of in our house.. It’s basically now out of warranty, was used for a few weeks, and is now about to be a $799 piece of landfill.
DO BETTER MIELE - or just stick to what you’re good at.
NOTE: does anyone have any recommendations for a good stick vac? We bought a top end Robovac were very happy with, just want a stick vac for quick clean ups and kids bedroom rugs (toys everywhere).
Best stick vacuum - I love it and it’s an ethical choice! – This stick vaccum cleaner is the best. It is so easy and light to use and I love the floor light that highlights the dust - makes vacuuming at night entertaining! It’s great on carpets and floorboards. It’s really easy to empty too. It also comes with a spare battery - so we always have one on charge ready to go. We bought this brand because it is ethical - but no regrets as it’s so much easier to use than our son’s Dyson. Outstanding – We happily made the shift from Dyson 6 months ago and haven't looked back. It's not the most expensive on the market, therefore don't expect the highest quality plastics, but the actual results speak for themselves and I'd easily put this up against each of the four, more expensive, Dyson sticks we've owned. Versatile – I was looking for a stick vacuum to replace my Miele barrel vacuum, which my wife and I found similar to a gym workout vacuuming carpet. Our short list was short, as we thought the Dyson V15 was going to be the winner. as we both vacuum we needed something we both found comfortable. The winning combination for the TriFlex Pro was the ability to mount the Dust Canister low towards the cleaning head, takes the strain off your wrist as the weight of the canister can be tiring. If your wanting to use as a handheld frequently then mount the Dust Canister near the top, as less disassembly required. No need to hold a button down to power up as the TriFlex has a 3 position power switch. Our house is a 4x2 and 50/50 carpet and hard flooring and although the TriFlex comes with 2 batteries, I found 1 battery did the job comfortably. I have found the TriFlex has cleaned the house as well as the old barrel vacuum and pet hair was not a problem. The LED light on the front easily shows up dust on hard floors that with normal lighting can’t be seen. Emptying the Dust Canister was easy enough, just need to follow the instructions carefully, as with cleaning the filters inside. The Hepa filter is lifetime in the Pro model. The only flaw that prevents a 5 star rating is the Dust Canister is on the small side, in otherwise what appears to be a well made German vacuum.
why such poor plastics? – plastic parts are absolute rubbish why make a major locking part out of thin plastic? breaks down into other helpful configurations only issue is plastic wear and breaks now have to use vacuum in compact mode for the entire house great for a 3 year old maybe! Only ever pulled configuration down 3-6 times and parts are worn out. Also does not… Read more

Not working after a year and a half – After our first miele vacuum cleaner broke down early 2020, miele complaints department credited us for our old one and we paid the difference to purchase the triflex. later. The machine has lost suction, is wobbly and the battery life severely diminished. I complained in person and requested a repair at the doncaster store. A polite young lady told me I could drive it to Mornington for a repair (over an hour away for us) or box it up and send it via Australia Post. I have been reluctant in doing either of these things as this would leave me with no vacuum cleaner for who knows how long. We are a family of asthmatics and I vacuum daily. Just this morning the vacuum has died completely mid clean. It had two bars of battery left, cut out and won't turn on or charge. I am so very disappointed. We keep buying miele appliances only to be disappointed with their quality which was once outstanding. We were looking at miele for our knock-down rebuild currently in progress but I'm not sure the longevity and quality of their product is there now.
Pathetic after sale service – I have purchased Miele trifled . After an year of light use it stopped working . It’s still in warranty, we tried contacting Miele multiple times but no response whatsoever. -there is no direct Helpdesk number , there is online form to log request we did multiple times but no response . It’s a regret sale I would advice to pay extra 100 bucks and buy Dyson instead which has much better quality and after sale service . Show details
Unhygienic and not suitable if you have allergies – Got this vacuum for a small house with floorboards and carpet. For the first few months it worked well. The barrel is too small for anything other than a small space. However, it is impossible to clean - you need to put your hands up into the barrel to clean the dust out and it spills everywhere. Otherwise I had no issues (wouldn't re purchase… Read more
given the issues with the dust and cleaning the filter). However, 10 months in it died suddenly and Miele won't cover the warranty. It's taken 2 weeks to get this information from them. One star for the marketing hype. Zero for effectiveness – One star for the marketing hype. Zero for effectiveness. This is an overpriced vacuum cleaner and would not suit families with carpets or rugs - you will be emptying the dust bin after vacuuming one rug or room (it's tiny). out sadly. There's nothing turbo about the rotating head - the vacuum cleaner doesn't work without the rotating head. It's just marketing hype.
The dust collection cannister is also a nightmare to empty with dust (that you've just vacuumed up) flying everywhere when you try to empty the tiny cannister. This might possibly be ok for a small apartment with no carpet or rugs. Families - save your money and go for Miele's corded bagged vacuums.
Also, be careful of the Good Guys' returns policy. The "Good" Guys, weren't so good to hear that it didn't work in the real world, after I missed the 30 day return period, and weren't willing to exchange it.
