Turbo head stopped working every 12 months – Used the Miele stick for 1 year. Hard to empty canister. Fills far too quickly. The turbo head stopped spinning as soon as it went on the carpet after using the vacuum for 1 year. Miele replaced it after a lot of phone calls. I had to post it to their repair shop myself. Was fixed but exactly 1 year later the same turbo head stopped working. It is… Read more
made of plastic and just wears out. We use the vacuum on timber floors and carpet only. We have a cleaner who uses her own vacuum so you can imagine we did not use the stick as often as most people. So disappointed as we have many Miele products. I would not recommend this product.
The worst vacuum cleaner! – This vacuum cleaner started to have issues within 1 year of usage. There was a burning smell, the light stopped working, the brush stopped rolling & suction was very poor. I took it back to JB Hi Fi & they sent it off for repairs. The repair took longer than expected, so I received a new one. AGAIN, less than a year , the same issues appeared. I will have to take it back again! Not happy after paying $1100 for this product! Show details
Waste of time and money - Unreliable product, compounded by poor customer service – Motorhead stopped spinning just 2 weeks out of warranty. - when you're paying this much money, you expect either a quality product or good customer service. This product had neither - Process of getting this fixed has been frustrating and misleading, lack of respect for customers' time. - Miele had changed their mind 5 times. Wasted 1 week of my… Read more
time. Still not resolved 1) Miele initially informed that warranty would be honoured. Advised just return to place of purchase. However this was NOT the case. 2) lugged vacuum cleaner all the way back to place of purchase on advice of Miele, only to be turned away and told Miele has provided wrong advice 3) called Miele again, who confirmed the mistake 4) Miele then advised if I send photos of vacuum cleaner via email, a new floor head can be sent out 5) Shortly afterwards, I was also told this advice was also WRONG and I actually needed to send the product to their workshop. Was not told I would be potentially charged for assessment fee. This information was sneakily sent through in an email. Been a loyal customer for decades but you can be your bottom dollar I'll now be purchasing with your competitor.
Not a great vac for price – Purchased the vac around 8 months ago. Have found suction to be poor (low and medium settings are unusable) and the 10 min battery life isn't ideal. We have a mixture of surfaces with floor boards and wool carpet. We have to go over the same spot multiple times and very slowly for a decent clean. Using medium or low settings just won't do the… Read more
job.
Despite the above floors, the redeeming features are it's looks and how easy it is to empty. Outside of these, quite a poor product that barely does what it's designed to do.
For what you pay, I'm really disappointed in this product. Maybe would suit a single bedroom apartment, but certainly not a home.
Don’t buy this – Doesn’t pick up dust on floorboards it just moves it around . It’s impossible to empty the waste without it falling everywhere resulting in having to revacuum more waste off the floor. Terrible appliance. What a waste of $950 ! Show details
Vacuum doesn’t charge – I purchased two batteries - & Neither have charged up to get the vacuum to a working state. The Support line seems to have a minimum call hold waiting time of 45 minutes. Show details

I have a peace of mind Knowing my home is always clean using such great product from Miele . Show details
Achilles heel is dust canister – Vacuum has good suction, light to help see dust and can stand when canister is set close to ground. The canister has a small volume, is flimsy and overly complicated to take off machine. Major issue is most of the dirt get stuck between a large gasket and the filter. This means you need to shove fingers past the gasket and drag debris out. Total… Read more
deal breaker for me. So unhygienic. Was lucky that the Good guys returned with full refund. Got a Dyson V8 animal instead. Much more user friendly to empty.
Famous German technology disappoints – The time has come to replace our old hand held Dyson V6 Animal vacuum cleaner for something better. Miele is synonymous with innovation and excellent quality, so it was not difficult to decide to go for their recently released cordless stick Triflex HX1 Runner boasting the 3 in 1 innovation. This involves clever design which allow you to place the… Read more
suction tube either above or below the Power Unit. These are several advantages of doing that. The placement of the Power Unit on the top of the cleaner is advantageous for vacuum cleaning underneath furniture, whereas the placement of the Power Unit at the bottom makes the machine lighter and reduces strain on the wrist. The innovative design also makes it possible to use the Power Unit on its own without the suction tube. This is particularly good for cleaning the car's interior. Another great thing apart from the machine's attractive looks is that the Comfort handle incorporates an ON/OFF switch with three different suction power modes. This means that you do not have to keep the switch constantly pressed as in other vacuum cleaners. This unit includes a Multi Floor Electrobrush featuring a BrilliantLight lighting which is a welcome feature allowing you to see what the naked eye might not register. The Multi Floor Electrobrush is quite good automatically adjusting itself to different floor surfaces. The access to the brush is user friendly and thus it is easy to clean it if necessary. The Runner comes with handy second battery and one charger. The battery may be charged either on the cleaner in which case the LED lamps indicate the charging state, or separately in which you do not have this indication. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge the battery. Miele claims that you can get up to 60 minutes out of the fully charged battery if you use the power selector at the lowest suction. I found that even the lowest setting is quite enough for vacuuming with pretty good result. Overall, the suction of Triflex is very good. Miele supplies just three basic accessories: Upholstery nozzle, the Crevice nozzle and the Dusting brush. This is a bit mean for such an expensive machine as is this one. So far so good. Let us now turn to things which leave much to be desired. First, the dust container. The capacity is so small that it fills up very quickly necessitating the emptying procedure and associated cleaning of filters. And that is where Miele fails rather miserably. I wonder what happened to the famous German technology for the action requires a series of unnecessarily complicated maneuvers which are frustrating to say at least. To reassemble the dust bin is even more frustrating and time consuming. The dust bin is enclosed in cheep plastic assembly which is a pity, because the vacuum cleaner as such looks sturdy and high quality. The bin emptying process is not a very hygienic procedure as the dirt gets easily stuck on the pre-filter so you need to use your fingers to get rid of the material inside the dust container. Not good!! Now, the advertised thing that the machine can click in place and stand on its own upright-a very practical thing, is only partly correct. It can stand upright ONLY if the Power Unit is positioned at the bottom of the cleaner. The other claim which ring rather hollow relates to the weight. Miele advertises this as a lightweight vacuum. In actual fact it is quite heavy, particularly if the user is older and not strong enough. Suffice to say that to disappointment my wife has bluntly refused to use this vacuum as she finds it heavy!! The machine is expensive. I paid $999 for mine. The entry level one (one battery only) costs $799. So, not very good value for money here. The two years warranty applies. Interestingly, when I used the vac for the first time I ran into difficulty re-assembling the dust container when everything just fell apart. I rang Miele for help. After waiting on the phone for almost half an hour, I gave up. I only hope that unacceptably long waiting was caused by pre-Christmas flood of calls. Hmmm...it makes me think why would so many people need to contact Miele for help??? In conclusion, the cons outweigh the prons which is a shame because we still have at least 30 years old fashioned barrel Miele vacuum cleaner which works like a whistle.
Actually I got so disappointed with this machine, particularly with it totally unhygienic dust… Read more
