This is the worst Washing Machine I have ever owned - Don't buy it or the latest version of it – Washing always smells after being washed. Smells like vomit, bad odour, damp pee smell. Have tried everything with this machine. Different detergents, various cleaning options, re setting machine even. Had Miele technicians out, do the usual standard checks, give you some detergent to try then walk away. Also being in Canberra you have to… Read more

organise your own technician if the representatives from Sydney aren't coming down. There's also a white cable like cord hanging out the side which I was told by the technicians won't affect the use of the machine, it's just sticking out and wasn't pushed in properly when the front part of the machine was put on! That to me sounds like an issue from the start, did I receive a dud machine or are they all just like this with all it's issues. I always have lint on my clothes, that's never happened with other front loading machines I've owned. I paid top dollar for this machine thinking I was getting the best, sadly I got the worst. In all consciousness I can't even on sell this machine, I couldn't pass these issues onto someone else and expect to get paid for it. I'm going to buy a Bosch and just have to deal with the fact that I have wasted good money and time on this Miele machine.

Do not use the Woollen Cycle – Until recently this has been my favourite washing machine. A few days ago I decided to trust this machine with my expensive hand knit jumpers. After the cycle (using wool wash) the garments were unrecognisable. they had shrunk and were matted beyond use. I contacted Miele and was simply told there is no compensation for this! Clearly this product… Read more

doesn't do what it promises to do and I have to wonder whether the wool cycle has ever been tested by Miele. The jumper photo I have attached was made from expensive alpaca wool and was in new condition before using this cycle.

MIELE W1 Powerwash & TwinDos XL – Team I have had this unit for over 12 months and it continues to fail me I have had the TwinDos Maintenance code, have bought the TwinDos care, but it doesn’t work. I have bought about 20 bottles of 1 and 2 that I can’t use, because of the F0212 code. I can’t fix problem or eliminate the code. All my products are Miele, from the laundry, kitchen etc Sorry, but I won’t be buying another. Show details

Twin dos error – We have had an error with twin dos- not registering the canisters at all even though they are full. We called customer service after receiving a $1000+ installation and parts quote to replace the fault. Customer service seem to be happy to say- “oh well, just use the machine without Twindos” We purchased the machine with our children’s skin… Read more

Smelly Clothes – Clothes smells bad even just after wash with Miele TwinDos system. Complained and they kept saying I need a maintenance wash - which I've done 5 times in the last 8 months - still can't get fresh smelling clothes from this machine. I'm also having loads of issue with the T1 dryer - so I think the functionality of this line is just plain bad.  Show details

Good quality – Miele washing machines have a high standard of build quality and functionality. It cleans and rinses my clothes well ever time. It is gentle on clothes and none of my favorite features are being able to put longer wash cycles on shorter times if im tune poor with the sane great wash results. I love the gentle cycles with both hand wash and delicate options. Miele technicians come out to install it to ensure it all works optimally.  Show details

Expensive rubbishy that makes your clothes STINK!!!! – At nearly 50 years old and with 4 kids, I have owned and used many washing machines, this being the most expensive and one of the worst. Had a Bosch before that was less than half the price and washed great. This machine washes just as well, albeit with a much longer cycle, but the clothes smell like vomit when they come out. They smell worse than… Read more

when they went in. The machine itself does not smell, it's the clothes, even when I take them straight out when the load finishes. I have used a range of detergents but to no avail, and I have to overload the amount of detergent and softener to stop smell, and it's worse when I use the Miele laundry products. I looked at other reviews to try and find out why, and there are many reviews complaining of the same problem. Perhaps it is because the clothes are still hot when the, wash is finished. Only connected to cold water tap though. I asked Miele why clothes still hot and got lots of nonsense about the motor being hot underneath. This is nonsense though because doesn't explain why all the clothes are hot, not just the ones on the bottom of the drum over the motor. I wish that I had just got another Bosch. I hate this machine. Don't buy it.

Perfect washing machine – I would say I cannot live without this washing machine. It has a range of washing mode which I can choose from. Normally the express 20 is enough for daily use. If you select short program, it would only take 20 min then your washing is done! The best part is it can calculate how much washing liquid needed if you use the dos.  Show details

Unbelievably quiet – I have a Miele dishwasher which I installed when I built the house 17 years ago. It's the best dishwasher as far as reliability and performance I've ever had . So choosing a Miele wasn't a hard decision. My Blaco front loader died because some sort of bug fried the motherboard and at 12 years old wasn't worth spending the money to fix. So I… Read more

thought stepping up to a Miele was a logical step. WOW. You almost need a degree to use his machine. The only thing this thing lacks is Bluetooth connectivity to my smart phone. Twindos you don't even need to add detergent each wash. European washing machines have wash cycles considerably longer than Asian machines, so I'm used to it thanks to the Blanco. But they do have selectable and long delayed start which allows you to wash off-peak in the wee hours of the morning. Once you get over the seeming complexity, it is after all a washing machine. The Germans just like to over explain things. My new machine will tell me if what I am washing is compatible with the detergent I'm using, will your's ? Or if the spin cycle is too harsh. Or if the degree of soiling requires extra detergent. But most amazing is the quietness - all you hear is the sploshing of the water in the drum. And at the end of the wash, it will even tell you how much electricity and water it's used for that wash. Yes it's expensive, and no, just maybe, it won't last as long as 3 x $800 machines, but the performance, features and quality is what you pay for. And even their seconds come with a 24 month warranty.

Finally my clothes are clean – I upgraded my 6 year old LG and after a bit of research went with this model. I was unsure about the front loader having only used a top loader, but I love It! Clothes come out really clean and fresh and it had good program options. We mainly use the DOS detergent but for my sons cloth nappies and the kids clothes we use other detergent and I… Read more

like that I have the option.

It is super quiet, but has taken getting used to- temperature of some washes has removed clothing fixtures, dulled some prints.

Also, wash cycles take a lot longer than I was used to- 1 hour in the LG, 3 in the miele, but I just have to be organised!

Very happy

For the $$$ I paid it has destroyed more $$$$ in cloths! – I moved into a new house and needed to save space so I shelled out $7500 for the W1 and T1 package. I expected that if I buy the best I get the best (and in results). The T1 (drier) is fantastic! The W1 has destroyed more cloths than I can count and I'll be talking the cost shortly and sending them a bill. Does it or has it every washed better… Read more

than my old F&P? NO.

The twinDOS has faded darks, greyed whites and stripped colours.

Mile Service came out and set it for "Australian" conditions.

I now wash everything on cold cycle only (auto temperature does not work) and have created a custom setting for each cloths group. Turns out that this is the slow method for destroying cloths. Mile advised me to stop using the twin DOS detergent and sent me their powders.

This has not worked either.

I'll be doing my washing at a laundromat until I get something else.

A major improvement on my old Miele but a bit early to give 5 stars – I bought a twin DOS machine in August last year after my 30 year old Miele died an agonising death. The first detergent dispenser seemed to generate an air lock which was cleared in two minutes. The cycles are very good and intuitive and I think the rinse cycle is very good as all of my wash is now much softer than the previous machine ever… Read more ·  1

produced. If you buy a digital electronic machine like this there will sometimes be issues BUT if you have a 20th century brain and a child with a 21st century brain none of the issues will impact too much. I have recently had to deal with an error message that says F######### and call service. I treat this like my computer; empty load, switch off and re-boot. All good. If it happens again I will call Miele but at the moment I am getting clean clothes, no fuss, free detergent and rinse solution and I think it is very quiet too. Another plus was it cost only $10 to remove my dead washer. I am a big fan, at the moment.

Give me my LG Back – Had an LG front loader for 10 plus years and it was an excellent machine but we moved house and the LG would not fit into the allowed space otherwise I would still have it. Favourites ( a must for a male),, wash times are too long, the machine is way to rough on your clothes , Your bras fall apart,

We purchased it from Harvey Norman and we were told it came with a five year warranty and we were told no need to get the extended warranty through Harvey's so we didn't and then about one month after the purchase we were sent extended warranty details direct from Miele offering additional warranty which would give us a total warranty of five years for an additional cost of $249.00, Harvey Norman are still stating the machine comes with five years warranty which is not true.

I could keep going but why this machine wash a very bad choice and I would not recommend it to anyone. The LG is twice the machine at half the price I will be selling my very poor performing Miele for an LG.

I believe Miele needs to review this product I have no problems paying extra for a good washing machine but this machine does not get a rating from me.

my friend – My son is a chef, so he has very dirty white chef tops. I thought I was doing a good job cleaning them, by soaking them first. Now that I have a new Miele washer, I don't have to soak them. And they are coming out a LOT cleaner. If you are looking for an efficient washer then Miele is the one to buy.

Best washing machine I've ever had – Super quiet machine, even at full spin the machine is stable and hardly audible. Some people have commented about over sudsing. The machine needs to be recalibrated for Melbourne soft-water or TwinDos will over-sud. I have reduced the dosing of both containers by 10ml. To access the settings menu simultaneously press both the up and down… Read more

arrows under the display.

Can adjust via settings the water consumption and add additional rinse to every wash. In soft-water areas don't need fabric softener. In the occasional instance of there being suds left these are not soapy and leave no film on the finger, which makes me think it may just be the spinner agitating the water to create a foam.

Have noticed that the cycles are longer than other machines I have had but it is quiet enough that you can use the timer and have laundry be ready for when you wake up, this lets you start the day one load of washing ahead.

Machine has a good capacity and the accompanying dryers have same load capacity.

Washing Machine WOES – Unfortunately, I have the same opinion as [name removed]. It is my first Miele product and if this is a gauge of their quality, I'm truly disappointed. I was lead to believe that it would remove ANY stain, it would last me at least 20 years and various other AMAZING features and promises, but the most disappointing of all is how harsh it is on all… Read more

my washing -the colours fade and fabrics are stripped, especially my brand new Sheridan towels and various, new, 'delicate' underwear items. These are now ruined and the towels are like thin cardboard. I have tried every conceivable option to prevent this from happening e.g. laundry bags, delicate programs, Miele branded fabric softeners - both cap and Dos and have studied that instruction book like a bible, read it inside and out and cannot come up with a solution. I am going to approach Harvey Norman to discuss how to resolve this issue, I'm hoping I can rely on their reputation to assist me. This washer was purchased to replace my existing commercial, 16-year-old Kleenmaid, which is still working beautifully, but due to Kleenmaid's exit from the market some years ago, I had concerns about any future repairs that may come up, so I thought I'd upgrade to newer technology and get something a little smaller as I'm planning to renovate my existing laundry and thought it would create more storage space, as well as save on energy and water costs. If I don't have any success with rectifying this situation. I will forego the space and keep using my Kleenmaid. VERY disappointing.

Dissapoitment – Yes it's super quiet; has all the bells and whistles and design and built are excellent. But it cannot wash properly.... You have two choices - either use one of their regular programs which will mean between 2 and 3 hours of washing and with extra water/rinse feature, the clothes will be relatively suds free. But that will drastically reduce… Read more

life of your clothes. After just one wash (and I selected the faster option, reducing it to 1.5 hours), I compared 2 pairs of undies and the one from Miele faded almost 2 shades in comparison to the other one washed in the old machine. The clothes were also visibly "tired".

Other option is to use fully automated program or fast wash - but neither of them will allow you to select extra rinse (as suggested by one user below) and that means just two rinses, second being the one with fabric softener - so not really a rinse. Needless to say, when the program finished, the door was full of thick foam - and no, I have not "abused" the dosage.... Besides, I tried my regular powder in one wash and then second time I used their product out of twin do's and that is fully automated - you can't do anything about it.

The other design flaw is that it starts spinning with relatively lot of water in it and at high spinning speeds it means that the water is pushed onto the door glass and the "draught" caused by the spinning prevents it from coming down - it just circles on the glass. As soon as it finishes, of course that water (plus suds as mentioned above) ends up falling onto your clothes thus countering the benefit of having 1600rpms as the clothes will have that extra water on them...

Bought for 2600 in sale thinking I will have product for years to come. There are other brands that will deliver better wash performance for third of the price and even if they'll only last few years, at least you can have brand new machine every few years for the same amount of money.

Bottom line - not recommended. I would never buy Miele again.

If this was in Europe, I could return it with no problem. Unfortunately, Australian consumer laws are so flawed that I am not even going to try to argue with Miele (and by some of the reviews below it looks that they are hopeless anyway).
