Mimosa Andaman Cantilever Umbrella Questions & Answers

It has a pin and locking mechanism to secure the pole to the plastic base. And its in the instructions. I bought one of these large ( the largest) Mimosa umbrellas from Bunnings and after setting it up, filling up the base with water etc the thing nearly blew over with the slightest of breezes. So I took it back the same day. Way too dangerous in my opinion. They are fine if there is absolutely NO wind at all . They are too unstable in the slightest of winds. The weight of the base (with water) is not enough to prevent it toppling except when there is NO wind and I do mean NO wind. The slightest breeze will cause the umbrella to fall over. Thats what happened in our case. The base needs to be far heavier such as solid concrete which you wouldnt be able to move. The large umbrella surface area underneath generates a lot of lift in a slight breeze so the base weight vs umbrella area seems wrong.

I dont know why my one cannot fit inside the water tank so I think about buying the concrete slab instead and ignore the wanter tank. Lol Thank you so much for your answer. Merry Christmas :)

Hi Helen Not sure but if you speak to bunnings they may be able to help you ... did you want this in a sand coloured version?

Not to sure on that one? It may do better in a cooler climate. Bunnings sells a replacement cover by a company called Mojo. Its cheaper then a replacement from Mimosa. The product itself has been fine.

Thanks for your quick reply My daughter lives in Sydney and always felt Auckland has a cooler weather so it may be more durable in NZ weather.

What is the cost of the replacement by mojo and mimosa?
