Terrible Service – Have been waiting 6 months for a roof restoration after being told it would take 4-6 weeks. Still have no line of sight to when the works will be started. Really annoyed and I won’t be rescheduling any appointments with this company....I own the house not ‘a husband also’!! Would not recommend any female contacting this company!! You should be ashamed, if someone says no it means no so move on!

Very bad company – They come and force you to sign the contract. It is free to cancel within 10 days. But if you try to cancel then prepare for difficulties. Very rude, hanging up etc. As a matter of principal not to use such company

unlike several other services, wasn't pushy. He was very happy for us to look at other quotes and discuss our needs over the several weeks we spent deciding. He spotted an issue that was also identified by our house inspector and helped us work out a solution to fix it (some beams were letting water into the roof due to a poor design decision and this was rectified). I appreciated his honesty that they weren't as cheap as your local tradie, but that their product came with a guarantee we could trust and in the end that swung it for us and he was happy to negotiate with us to find a price point we could afford. We were having a baby in the next three months and they worked with us to ensure the work was completed before the baby was born (with three weeks to spare!). The tradies they sent gave us their number and were happy to answer all our questions and even provided some advice on further work we might want to do ourselves. The ridgecaps were redone and look fantastic and the colour turned out excellent (ironstone). All in all a good experience with a polite and communicative company.

High pressure cleaning left area wet for householder to clean – High pressure cleaning has left our outside area, including some outside furniture, soaking wet. The area was cleaned up after the roof clean by the high pressure cleaner. There was some dirt left in this area best cleaned by hand NOT by more water. A wet job for us to clean up especially considering the amount of money the whole job costs.

Modern Group, telling us he did not like doing roofing. Sub-contractor left with our air-conditioner not working, pipping hanging off the roof, uneven finish on roofing and a botched job around our chimney. Other poor finishes were typical of his work

A few weeks later we had new leaks through our bedroom and dining room. Modern took months to respond to these initial concerns and we had to initiate fixing ourselves.

The "customer care" team have been contacted on numerous occasions and prefer to ignore you, block attempts to communicate or delete reviews. Interestingly, out of the 250 recent reviews on their Facebook page there were 169 1 star reviews which have now been removed.

We are still regretting our decision to use Modern for our roofing and have had to contact other professionals to fix their mistakes.

Deceitful company, terrible customer service, poor workmanship – We thought we were quoted for a full roof replacement but Modern only replaced part of the roof. The salesman deceived us, as what was described and what was written on the contract differed and Modern took no responsibility for this. The roof which was replaced leaked causing our bedroom light to fall. addition was, but didn't get a written down final figure for each item, only a total. So when they never did one of the additions, they only offered me back 1/4 of what it was worth as a credit. The actual roof installer subcontractors they used were hard workers and did a decent job. The company itself is disorganised and I have found them to be dishonest in their dealings with me.

Do not use them, and if you do- get any additions broken down. I signed the original contract over 18 months ago and it is still not fully sorted. Worst company I have ever dealt with and I am in the building game and have seen some shockers!

Great result – The tradesman was a mans' man. Knew his stuff inside out. He had to travel from Northern suburbs to south west suburb to my place but came back after the job was complete to paint some aluminium in a terra cotta colour to match my clean tiles. Poor workman ship and no after sales service – I employed Modern to repair and repaint my roof. The salesman was quick to come out and sign us up. Made numerous promises which swayed us into signing and to take our deposit. That was in May 2017. on completion with instructions not to walk on the roof for several days. On inspection I found that the roof capping was not sealed and under colour leeching onto the newly painted roof. I made contact with MODERN on two occasions with my concerns in August and September with only one phone call from the company stating that the area rep. will inspect the roof when in the area. To this time November 2017. I have not received any further contact.

SO IF YOU WANT A PARTIAL JOB DONE ON YOUR ROOF DON'T USE MODERN AND DOINT EXPECT ANY AFTER SALES SERVICE.
