It's recommended that you thoroughly clean the paintwork and clay bar it so as not to lock in any specks of dust, but since the car was brand new and very clean after a good wash I just applied the CMX as per the instructions, left it 'till next day and repeated. Even after the first coat the paintwork sparkled and felt glossy-smooth compared with the original paint. The water just beaded off as advertised: to all but the (above) obsessive eye it's a beautiful finish. I inadvertently parked last week under a tree that shed tiny blobs of resin or sap. Today they were hardened but just came off the ceramic coat with a fingernail and after washing the car (yes, twice in nine months!) it looked like new again. Recommended for those who want a quick and relatively cheap finish.
