4 Scottric  · Fit for purpose – Happy with product and performance, would be better if you could drill down further into 15min lots to review impact of loads
5 Dane B.  · Does the Job – The App is very accurate with its monitoring. It's the only system I could find that does 4 batteries on the one app.
5 Straddy  · Great Battery Monitor – Very easy to fit and a practical addition to my 4wd. I thought one of my two batteries was failing and this proved it correct.
5 Michael S.  · Battery Monitor – excellent product, works very well giving you all the information that you need to keep your battery in top shape.
5 william  · Great little unit – Easy to install and a perfect alternative to an unaffordable battery monitoring setup, quick and easy to open the app to view percentage
5 Lorenzo Fioriti  · Good tool – Very accurate readings and resisted under lots of water. Rate it 100%

So useful, why haven't I had one of these before? – Not sure why I finally realised one of these would be useful to ward off the possibility of an unexpected battery failure sometime in the future, but once I found out that these could be used to monitor the health of my battery and communicate it back to my iPhone via a handy app, I was all in. Bought one and fitted it myself in 10 minutes...so… Read more ·  1

easy. Worked so well that I later bought a second one for the wife's car. Now I monitor the health of both batteries via the one app. Very useful as we are both retired now and the car's don't get out as often (to charge the batteries) as when we were both working.

Update: The 2nd one that I purchased for my wife's car stopped working after only 4 months. So, my initial enthusiasm for these devices has now greatly diminished. Question: do they not make anything to last anymore?...oh wait, I forgot.....it was after all made in China.

Further update: June 2022. The first battery monitor that I bought and fitted to my Subaru Outback finally failed as well. So that one lasted 10 months. That's 2 failures out of 2 in less than a year. I won't discourage anyone, but you can make your own mind up as to whether these things are worth it.

Very useful, ultimate battery management – I use these to monitor both the main battery and auxiliary on my Toyota. It helps to maintain confidence that i can always start the car an run the fridge freezer without running out of electricity. I’ve been experimenting running a wind vane to charge overnight when necessary and the monitors have been a great help! Show details ·  1

Handy piece of equipment – Love this, perfect to use on a dual battery system. I use this on my auxiliary battery when I’m camping so I’m not needing to go check the monitor in the car every ten minutes. The app is easy to use and one of the handiest gadgets I’ve got. Show details ·  1

Acurate monitoring – Does the job really well. My brother was the one who discovered this and recommended this specific brand to me. He said it does not cost much but performs really great. He was right after all. Show details ·  1

Had an intermittent failure on one of the two I purchased – Contacted Oricom, had a replacement in 2 days. Found these very useful caravanning and camping. Can monitor car or van battery and determine when to connect solar panels to either car or van. Show reply

Works as expected – I have a Samsung phone and found it difficult to make the app work. My I pad on the other hand loaded the app and it worked straight away. Great information from the device very happy. I can check the battery condition from inside my house. 2 devices for $95.00 Show details ·  1

Device is ok but the App is a let down – The device is well designed and BT connectivity is better than other battery monitors I have used. The App however leaves much to be desired, it lacks the following, - Ability to set battery type (SLI, AGM...etc) - Battery selection (car battery, AUX battery etc) My car has an AGM battery which sits at 13.01v when fully charged. The app marks it… Read more

as "charging" since the voltage is over 13v. I never get the % charge level. Having different battery types with voltage profiles would resolve this issue. I contacted support and was advised the Oricom BSM888X "wasn't designed for AGM batteries" even tough the website states "Compatible with all 12/24 volt batteries". I hope the app is improved soon.

Device is great, just don't buy more than 4 – Great concept and device, but if you want more than 4 to holistically monitor all your battery environments the Android and iOS apps won't support it and Oricom support have confirmed no plan to change this. Show details

Handy For Cranking Batteries – I have three of these devices on my car and they perform well, I can keep an eye on my batteries when camping. One issue for me is when you haven't used the app for a while and you go to use it, it takes ages to go back through every day to update its logs which is time-consuming when you have three because it will only update one battery at a time. Show details

Doesn't handle the heat in the engine bay – I've now had two of these stop working in the engine bay after a few days driving, while the one in the canopy on my 12v system just keeps on going. It's great to be able to use an app to check on my second battery but I would really love to be able to keep an eye on my cranking battery with it but it just can't handle being in the engine bay. Until this design flaw is addressed it's pretty useless. Show details

Work great, have one in the Pajero and the caravan – Had a long play with this, wanted to have it on the caravan battery but bought two on special. One in the tow vehicle too. I find it slow to connect and the update can take a little while if you haven't connected for a while. It did show me how much the battery uses when connecting appliances to it through an inverter. Well worth the money. Show details ·  1

Highly useful device – Excellent piece of kit for monitoring car battery condition. Takes less than 10 minutes to install and then connects seemlessly to your smartphone via Bluetooth. App is also quick to download and very easy to use.  Show details ·  1

Pretty Good but not Great – This review has been updated since I first posted a week or so back. Oricom have updated their app which appears to have improved connectivity. It also won't load the Firmware update, the… Read more

Super useful Gadget – Used on a second battery that runs the fridge in the 4wd. Given the battery position in the tray it's hard to access. Great product. Beats a battery gauge in the car – 4 weeks in and working great. I had a Baintek battery gauge at rear of car that was never accurate due to voltage drop. This is so much better and gives so much more detail. Great product. Would totally recommend.  Show details ·  1

Handy – Gives handy read out of voltage Bluetooth. Also stores battery history, helped me work out when the starter battery was cooked. The notifications however from the app are a bit excessive, would be handy if it only gave you an update once a day, not every time you stand near the car Show details ·  1
