Motorola Razr 40 Ultra (2023)
MPNs: PAX40002AU and PAX40029AU1 review
Terrible experience with Motorola Razr 40 Ultra – Avoid! I bought the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra expecting a premium device, but instead it turned into the worst phone experience I’ve ever had. The screen developed a vertical line across the middle long before any physical damage occurred. This is a well-known defect among Razr 40 Ultra owners (just search online and you’ll find countless people with the same issue). Despite this being a clear manufacturing fault, Motorola refused to cover it under warranty. Instead, I was quoted over $500 for a screen replacement – a price so high that you could almost buy a new phone (certainly not another Motorola).
To make things worse, Motorola blamed a minor puncture mark at the top of the display for the screen failure, ignoring the fact that the line fault was there first and that’s what caused the display to deteriorate and bleed throughout. This is incredibly disappointing, especially from a company that markets itself as trustworthy and premium.
I sent my device in under warranty, but instead of taking responsibility, Motorola shifted the blame to “physical damage” and tried to charge me. If this is how they handle customers, I can confidently say this will be my last Motorola device.
⚠️ Buyers beware – The Razr 40 Ultra screen is fragile, prone to faults, and Motorola does not stand behind its product. If you’re considering this phone, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $800.
