The perfect gumtree bargain! Amazing!! – I scored this pram for $40 on gumtree and besides replacing tyres it’s been amazing! I was after the NZ built model and it doesn’t disappoint! I have a bugaboo buffalo as we camp and live where there are no footpaths and it’s equally as good as my bug! It goes everywhere, I love the one piece fold and the fact the weather cover blacks out the seat so my toddler can have a nap when I’m out! It’s amazing and such a great product! Show details

Trouble – Bought a faulty MB with a dodgy front wheel. Awful customer service and lack of responsibility. Good luck if you buy one and something goes wrong is all I can say. They are not built like they used to be but you can’t tell mountain buggy that at all. Good luck.

old school pram built like a tank – I bought the original NZ made mountain buggy in 2008 in anticipation of our 1st baby. I bought the works: sun cover, rain cover, bassinet, belly bar, everything. The pram was used to death, my only complaint was its weight (make sure you bend from the knees!) and that it would pretty much fill up the boot of our Toyota Corolla. I used to go to… Read more

Farmers Markets on dirt and rocks and hang at least 8 kg of shopping underneath and on the handle bar, this thing could take it. I took it to glitzy shopping centres, naughtily using the escalators -not travelators!- with shopping hanging off it, up and down kerbs, stairs, on off road terrain, there was nowhere this pram could not go (and look smart at the same time.)

Fast forward to 2016 and the birth of a new baby. The pram which was kept in storage in slightly damp conditions has held up beautifully. I did give the fabric bits a wash though. The zips of the sun cover died but I replaced it with a generic one. The rain cover is doing great. The bassinet which we kept in its original box was as good as new. We had to buy replacement wheels as the old ones were starting to pack in, but I bought them off the MB website and had them delivered no problems (I live in Sydney).

The reason I am writing this review: I am currently looking to buy a new pram just to have a lighter pram that sits more upright (second bub is super curious and keeps wanting to sit as upright as possible) and I have been taking the baby to shops and trying prams out, and to my great consternation NOTHING steers as well as this tank, which I can literally steer with one finger. This is quite a feat for such a heavy solid pram. I have a McLaren umbrella stroller which I kind of love to hate and I still haven't found a "hybrid" model I am happy with. To be honest I haven't tried the newer Mountain buggies or the Bugaboos (those are very pricey), but everything else cannot compare, even the Uppababy Alta that I had my heart set on.

So until I find the one before my baby is out of prams, I'll keep looking and I'm sure one day I will make a second hand buyer very happy when I sell this old classic.

My favourite pram thus far – I originally got a second hand MB Swift for the purpose of running and soon realised it wasn't quite suitable so I sold and purchased a used 2009 NZ made MB urban elite (12 inch wheels and rear wheel suspension make it more suitable for running). I also own a BJ city select and this pram is by far my favourite. It is second hand and still going… Read more

strong (very sturdy, well built) so the quality of the NZ made Mountain Buggys is perhaps the best on the market (or was, can only get NZ made Buggys second hand now). It manoeuvres so well (can run and steer one handed) and has been fine for jogging along the beach/bike path. Handles walking on all terrains beautifully. It is quite a big pram so not ideal for going into shops and cafes and it only just fits in my car boot! I primarily use this pram for walking and running so the big size is not a deal breaker for me (just lives at home when not in use, put my other pram in the boot when needed). The sun hood does not provide great coverage so the extra sun shade is a must have accessory in my opinion. Love it so much that I would be keen to find a NZ made double urban elite once we have our second baby.

Perfect jogger pram! – If you're after a pram that will give your child or toddler a comfortable ride then I can highly recommend this pram. I purchased this pram second-hand and the state it's in is exceptional. It came with all of the extras, the shade-a-babe cover, storm cover (haven't used this yet), sheepskin underlay and the sleeping bag/booty. This is the model… Read more

that was made in New Zealand and the quality of all of the attachments looks like it will probably last me for all the children I want to have. The pram provides a smooth ride and it is handy to be able to inflate / deflate the tyres to suit the terrain your child will be travelling on. The lay down function of the pram makes it comfortable for sleep times or for a newborn baby. The Mountain Buggy Elite is easy to collapse but, as stated in other reviews, takes up a lot of room in the boot of the car. It is light in comparison to other prams offering similar features, but I consider 12kgs to be quite heavy to get in and out of the car constantly. I would recommend this pram as a second excercise pram and have a lighter, smaller, stroller to take to the shops. Durability, stability, comfortable ride, easy to steer, easy to fold up. There are two bolts that stick out the side of the wheels that seem to get caught on doorways etc. although I haven't owned this for that long so it might be the driver of the pram (I am female hahaha)! Quite wide.

The best pram ever! – Very sturdy, great build, I cannot fault this pram. The kids love it still and I have even managed to put them both in it at the same time! Goes off the road too, so easy to get around anything, excellent turning around 360 like a breeze. Survived two kids for almost five years now.

Worth the price. Every day – This pram is amazing – goes over bumps/gutters, etc. with ease. Very comfortable and easy to use. We got the luxury bundle with all the bits and pieces and use (or have used) all of these components. Not a cheap pram but worth every cent. Poor product quality – Pram is nice and light and easy to use however build quality is really poor. We bought the full urban jungle luxury bundle. The first thing that went was the brake system which locked up the whole stroller and made it unusable. Thankfully this was replaced. Terrible Customer Service – It has been over a week that I emailed the company to ask them about replacing an inner tube & tyre, there is still no response. Customer service used to be excellent when it was NZ owned, but now it appears to have sold out to another organisation that does not provide after-sales support.

Great jogger – The Mountain Buggy is a great value pram. We choose Mountain Buggy after a lot of research as walking and jogging are something we regularly do. Excellent – We absolutely love this pram. We really wish we could have afforded one with our first two babies. big this time and bought all the optional extras and have used and would recommend everything - bassinette, nappy bag, UV cover, rain cover, sleeping bag etc. Our baby still sleeps in the basinette attachment at seven months, which is so handy when we are travelling. Although the pram doesn't have a large range of colours, the bassinette attachment has a wider range and I got a lovely purple one. We got the pram in blue, which looks good and is easy to keep clean. Very sturdy and smooth ride for baby. So easy to push. Bassinette attachment is great for little babies. Sleeping bag attachment keeps baby warm. Great range of extras like fitted UV cover and rain covers for both bassinette and pram. Very expensive, particularly if you buy all the extras, but well worth the investment if you can afford it. Elite model doesn't have the large variety of colours as the urban. Wheels can get punctured by bindies etc. Takes a bit of effort to collapse and get into my car boot. Cannot have baby facing you in pram mode.

A Great Multi-purpose Option – Great Reliable Pram!!! Rugged enough to handle the outdoor adventures yet sleek enough to also cruise down the Shop aisles. Elite is easy to push and even easier to steer - think one handed even with and older toddler. The weight limit is a massive 35kgs.

The Elite comes with a Nappy Bag, Liner & Bottle holder on the side, I purchased the Storm and Sun covers as additional accessories, the suncover was a must but the storm cover has rarely been used so not essential in my case. Great Quality, Multi purpose, Suitable from Birth, Great range of accessories available, Easy to push/steer, Adjustable Handle Long Fold - May not fit in some car boots.

Great outdoors pram – A great pram perfect for outdoor use, not so much to take traveling or go shopping with due to size and bulkiness. Next time i would probably just buy a good stroller. reliable. Made of good quality materials, i found some of the other prams seemed to be quite flimsy. The basket underneath is a good size. The bassinet attachment is perfect for your newborn baby. We bought this pram as both my partner and i are tall and assumed we'd have a long baby so we wanted it to last, so its good in size for larger babies.. Lightweight compared to other prams. Easy to move/steer. A great pram really for active people who mostly want to use it outdoors. The really only annoying thing about this pram is that it easily tips if you hang anything remotely heavy on the back, i have had it tip several times even with my baby in it, and only had my nappy bag on it... Size- It is a very big pram and you need a big boot to fit it in, it fills up my whole boot space leaving room for not much else. I have also often become stuck at the checkout of coles/woolies as the wheels are so wide that you cant fit out. A stroller would be more suitable to take shopping. This pram is really a more outdoors type pram.

Good – I love this pram and would highly recommend it and its accessories. This may not be the best pram for someone who just wants it for shopping or cafe use due to the size. Very easy to manoeuvre, nice looking, sturdy and great quality (I have New Zealand made model). Great range of accessories which are well worth investing in - carrycot, rain and storm cover and sleeping bag. Very comfortable for baby and parent. Still looks brand new after 8 months of constant use. Quite bulky and heavy to fold up and takes up lots of space in car - I have a mazda 3 and whilst it just fits in boot, I usually put the back seat down so that I can fit it in more easily. As it is quite wide, I often find it doesn't fit through a lot of spaces while I am shopping and I end up running into displays/chairs/doorways etc.

OK – I am so disappointed in the company. They actually told me that my 3 year old pram was old now and couldn't be helped. I find that so short sighted in this environmentally aware time. something on it. DOn't buy one if you want after sales service. :( I love this pram. Everything about it is great. See my previous review for all the greatness. Unfortunately the customer service for after sales parts is dreadful and I've had to take off 2 stars. :( Parts for pre 2010 models have been phased out and if they have them but they are not in your local rgion, they "will not ship across market borders". Most ridiculous excuse for not helping I have ever heard. The Webshop Manager was totally unhelpful even though there is no Market Border if the product cannot be bought anywhere else!! The customer service at Phil and Teds who now own Mountain Buggy is the WORST customer service I have NEVER received. It has really removed 2 stars from the buggy in my rating. Yes it is THAT bad.

Excellent – I love this pram and would recommend it to anyone who wants a tough pram they can take anywhere. It's great value & if you can get a well-cared-for secondhand one you're laughing. moving or fixed if you want to jog with it. It's easy to push & turn with one hand. The canvas seat & hood pop off easily for cleaning or to attach the bassinet. We used our bassinet with bub until she was 4 months. It was great to have her facing us & just like a bed for her to sleep in when on the move. The canvas fabric doesn't show wear easily and is a breeze to clean - as long as you keep it out of the sun it should be really durable. The seat reclines almost totally flat & is fully adjustable (can be set at any height between the minimum & maximum). I bought mine secondhand and got a new seat & hood from mountainbuggy.com. You can get loads of other pre-2010 parts & accessories (for the New Zealand made models) there too. If you don't have a car with a big boot you'll need to take the back wheels off to fit it in. They're quick release though, so it's not really a big problem.

Missed it while travelling overseas with a travel stroller – Great pram. Beautiful suspension, turns on a 20c piece. The bassinette attachment got lots of use in our family. Good sized basket. Almost Perfect – I really like the Mountain Buggy, except for two things, my daughter now 1 Yrs Old is a Petite wee thing and she wants to sit up right as most her age do, the seat belt part between the legs is so far foward that she gradually slips forward, even if I sit her up right again within 10mins,this can't be good for her posture and the shoulder straps… Read more

Good – Overall I would recommend this pram if you are outdoorsy and will be walking a lot - you can take it anywhere (except those narrow checkouts of course!) material is so heavy duty that dirt just brushes off. I don't feel I have to be precious with my MB as it is so durable. The carrycot attachment was great for bub up to 4 months. Baby is now in the proper pram and we've had no problems so far. It is big and a little bulky. You wont fit through every checkout but it's not a major drama if you use a little foresight. It takes up a lot of room in the car boot so make sure you prepare for that. I found it a pain to have to take off the carrycot every time the pram went into the boot. It can be hard to find the old NZ accessories such as sun shade and they cost more than the new ones.

Excellent – I wanted a durable, multi-terrain pram as I knew we'd do a lot of walking and not always on the best paths, and I wanted it to last well. Polar fleece lining too warm in summertime and nappy bag too small (both included in price), wide body (if you want to go into a shop with small aisles or a lot of stuff displayed on the aisle floor, forget it!), difficult to get into storage basket underneath, bulky in car boot.

plenty of helpful pockets. But my two main gripes are the pram is too bulky with the wheels too widely set and the baby can't face you. These two complaints have me want to buy another pram, even though it is a very good pram. This is a good pram. Sturdy. Firstly I used the carry cot for my new born to sleep in, which was fantastic. I could push the pram around the house easily from room to room whilst my baby slept. The frame has great suspension to rock the baby to sleep, and pushing baby around on different surfaces. The carry cot is very roomy and comfortable. Perfect little cocoon for a young baby. The adjustable handle and drink holder are very thoughtful. The pram seat is spacious and has good reclining levels (but is difficult to adjust). The pram is easy to maneuver. Fairly easy to collapse and open. Easy to assemble. Quipped to handle till 32 kg, around 4 years old. Comes with maternity bag and change mat. Two main complaints and flaws in design. The back wheels are too widely set, making it difficult to go through doors, restaurants, shopping aisles etc.. This is a real complaint. Also, that the seat is not reversible and the baby can't face you. I have to often pick up the baby and carry him because he can't see me and feels insecure when there is a lot of people or traffic. The reclining straps are difficult to adjust, particularly when baby is in the pram. The buckles get sticky. It is very large and bulky when collapsed. Too large. inconvenient to travel with because of it's size the airlines insist you pick up from baggage claim, which means carrying baby through large meandering airports. Not good on the back. If the seat is reclined, it is difficult to get to the shopping basket, but also space is compromised with the seat as it sits low into the basket. (Very spacious with the carry cot attachment though). Dangerous for unsuspecting husbands and helpers when they offer to open pram for you, they always open it from the side with one hand at the front. When it opens it jams their hand between the footrest and front wheel frame and is very difficult to get out. Very painful and happens all the time. Must buy accessories separately.

pram when my son got bigger, I decided to spend the money t the start one really good pram!! Very easy to manoeuvre, easy to push, turns with ease. It's easy to fold up and put in car, very easy to put bassinett on and off. Good range of accessories. Comes with a handy bag & bottle holder. The back wheels are a bit wide so you have to be careful going down narrow passages or aisles.

Love it – Had three prams with three kids - nothing beats the mountain buggy. SO good to push, to run with, for storage space etc. Love it.
