We bought a Mountain Trail LXV6.2 about 3 years ago. We have made numerous trips in the van throughout Victoria, NSW & Qld. The van has never let us down and we're usually surrounded by other admiring nomads at van parks who wish they had bought a Mountain Trail too. We deal with Stirling on the Gold Coast and his team have been fantastic whenever… Read more

we have questions... nothing is too much trouble. The only issue we had was with the NCE TV which we have recently thrown out and replaced with an Engladeon 4k. This is definitely the best van on the market for serious off-roaders and those who want a superior caravan.

Just taken delivery of a mountain trail van that was ordered in September 2024. After the initial deposit was paid in early October, nothing was heard from the company until an invoice was sent for the deposit for the build to start (12 weeks before completion of the van ) so that puts the van to be completed in June. After hearing no more we… Read more

made an enquiry as to when the van would be completed and we were told there was a delay and the van would be ready early July. The last request for payment was made around the 20 th of June ( 4 weeks before completetion). Still no word on delivery date, we contacted the company stating we would like to pick up the van on the 25th of July giving them extra days as per contract to be told it wouldn’t still be ready. Finally able to pick up our van on the 30th of July over a month late from first payment, to be stuffed around about our bank transfer. The communication from this company is atrocious. Delivery dates are not adhered to despite payments being requested even though they know they are behind schedule. For the money these vans cost service should be a lot better.

Great service from MTRV national Show Room. Have a 2023 4.7 LXV, had a bugger moment after having left the shower door unlatched during travel. Damaged the hinges but still worked although a bit floppy. Arranged with MTRV to have the hinges replaced with a heavy duty set. Travis did an exceptional job with the door now working well. Went to pay… Read more

for the repairs on completion and was told MTRV would look after that as a warranty job. This I consider to be well above what I could have expected. Just great service from a very reputable company. Thank you MTRV.

Excellent – He bought Lvx 5.7 off road caravan. We could not be happier. The service was excellent and after sales service has also been amazing. Thank you Stirling for looking after us so well. It is a quality product that allows us to truly be off grid for extended periods of time with all the comforts of home. It handles corrugated and dusty road like a charm. It is a pleasure to own. Show details

Caravan exceeds expectations – We are approaching two years ownership of our Mountain Trail RV LXV 6.2 and during that time have done many trips in some very remote and inhospitable places. We have travelled Northern and Central Australia on corrugated, dusty 4wd only tracks and traversed the dunes on the Simpson Desert. We have been to Cape York, Cape Arnhem, we have travelled… Read more

the Snowys, NSW and Victorian high country on roads not recommended for caravans. During our travels we have seen other high-end off road vans and travelled with friends with their off-road vans. I have not yet seen a caravan which I would swap for my LXV 6.2 which has performed without fault and beyond our wildest expectations. Not one speck of dust or water has entered and surprisingly the van has handled the rough and corrugated roads without any interior or exterior damage or deterioration. We live in 5 star luxury within footsteps of pristine trout streams and in remote desert without seeing another human for days at a time and without the need for any support when off-grid. The support and service provided by the team at Mountain Trail RV is exceptional and if assistance and advice is required to manage the extensive electronics and management systems, senior staff appears to be on call on Facebook 24/7 to answer the simplest questions. This van is a credit to its designers and builders.

Now two years on from the previous review and nothing has changed. My previous review remains accurate. We have travelled the worst roads in Australia including the Gibb River Road and up to Mitchell Falls where Caravans are not supposed to go. We had some minor failures in the best available aftermarket products fitted to the van (not MT issues) however Mountain Trail RV again supplied exceptional after sales service even long after warranty to repair or replace damaged equipment. Nick from Mountain Trail sees all caravans and campers he has built as his babies and treats them as such.

Quality Product & After sales service & support – We purchased an EDX V2 in 2019 and have completed 40,000kms across Aus, much off grid & 4wd tracks in WA, NT, Qld, SA and NSW. The service at MT has been awesome and has delivered over and above in many ways. The EDX has exceeded our expectations in its capability. Highly recommend MT for customer support and after sales service. Something that is often missing now days! Show details

I bought a very expensive caravan from this company, I wish I hadn’t – After our first trip in our brand new LXV 4.7 I noticed the tyres were badly worn and a local specialist wheel alignment company was unable to align them as there was not enough adjustment available. I notified both the admin and service manager of Mountain Trail RV by email, after 5 days without a reply I contacted them again and their attitude I… Read more

found quite appalling. After some discussion they agreed to repair it but would not replace the damaged tyres, I threatened to go to Dept of Fair Trading, the owner said if I did this it would take a very long time to get my van repaired .Eventually he agreed to replace 1 tyre and swap a damaged with the spare. Now I along with many other MT owners have a serious issue with the solar panels being mounted directly onto the composite material on the roof. As there was no gap under the panels the composite material has degraded badly and started to delaminate, also the panels have degraded. I sent an email regarding this to MT but have had no reply. I have found the owners of MT to be rude and condescending.

High end marketing with no after sales service – We purchased a used mountain trail caravan believing it to be a high end product. After talking home our new 4.7 van I realised it had a serious wheel alignment problem. I had several discussions with John. He is the after sales go to person. After admitting to me that that year model had a design fault with the suspension he refused to do any… Read more

kind of rectification. He then tried to console me by telling me he would send me a mark two set of alignment washers. (What an insult) the washers never arrived. “A high end product “ I don’t think so

They ask Google to deleted the bad review – Dont trust the review, because the owner can simply ask google to remove. Lol Original review in Google, 0/5 Star. Never felt been look down so much before. Price has been agreed clearly between me and the business owner through text. The next day he came back with a different figure and dishonouring our agreement. when we kindly and… Read more

respectfully ask for clarification, he responded with insult and condescending word. Well i guess in a way is good the deal is off, can’t imagine what after sales service will be like? More insult? Dishonouring the warranty?

Edited updated: Mountain Trail can reply whatever you wish. I didn’t disagree for the after hour text and weekend tour which we drove 3 and half hour to Albury to make it happen. What we trying to explain is once the deal is agreed from both party, why there is price change the next day? And we are only asking to round the figure from $82140 to $82000, is that too much to ask? And if you don't agree why reply below:

“All agreed. Can you please make the deposit transfer today so I can take it off our other sales staff, otherwise they may sell it and this is the last one until July next year! My email is xxxxx@xxxxxx.com.au thanks”

Make mistake, count wrongly? The least you could do, is just a simple apologies and explain to us, then We might still going ahead to order one. But this is not the case, all we got is insulting, Of course i hang up the phone when someone insulting us. You don’t expect me to listen to all ur further insulting word right?
