Never buy a Narwal. This is the worse company I have dealt with. Purchased a Freo Z ultra in Jul and it’s just been three months and the baseboard module broken when it returning to base station, Narwal refused to claim warranty because I purchased from authorised retailer not from their website, they selling this robot for only about 450 AUD in… Read more

China but in Australia it is 2200 AUD and they don’t repair for you if you purchase from some where else.

If I could give this 0 stars I would! This is a replacement for my Roborock which has worked for 3 years. We therefore know my IoT network supports a robovac and is 2.4ghz as required by both companies. The Narwal will NOT connect to the internet (or is it the app?). Call support who are polite but not helpful - they will send out a list of troubleshooting tips - oh, yeah, when? Do we think I want to spend days or weeks trying to set up this device?

What an absolute farce of a company. We have a less than 6 month old Narwal Freo Z Ultra which is continually coming up with an error on the side brush. Speaking with their support line they DO NOT care and continually pass on the blame to others other than themselves and their faulty product. to resolve the problem or even assist with a warranty repair. I have 3 of these units 2 which work perfectly but 1 that continues to fault with NO assistance or support from the team at NARWAL. Narwal promise the world but deliver very little and l am ashamed that this company does not even provide help in trying to resolve a problem with an item that is less than 6 months old. I will definitely not be supporting this brand and will look at alternative providers (ROBOROCK) who are more considerate than the people at Narwal. Will never buy a NARWAL product again as their support has been poor and bordering on pathetic.

Zero customer focus; do not honour their promotions and blame the customer – Company does not honour promises nor promotions sent by them. good however service I think in long run will be the fail point. Wanted to purchase Z Freo. Was sent a text with coupon code to use. Continue it and does not work. Customer service say this is due to that promo expired - to which informed them I only just received it. Asked to send screenshot of text , to which I did. They then said that has expired and Black Friday sale now on. To which Insaid not my problem you sent me the code to use today and you have to honour this (Australian Consumer Law and many legal cases won on this very point). Still not acceptable from Company who then offer me a $50 off code to which I responded - this is a standard code for $50, you need to honour the code and promotion you sent me as a customer . Still no budging. Hence avoid this company as this event merely indicates the lack of any service so god help anyone who has fault with the actual product.

Great product so long as you don’t use 5G – For something that cleans and mops brilliantly, knows how to navigate obstacles, recognise easily what’s carpet and tile etc, this product is amazing. Downside though is no one at Narwal thought to make the software 5G compatible (probably privacy reasons). This means that if you don’t use 2.4GHz, the unit puts the child lock on and locks you out of being able to even use it manually. At this price point, that’s a no no…

under 2 hours, now it's 3-4 hours with human supervision (when it get stuck doing those weird dances, only recall can reset its behaviour). Functionally it's worse than an iRobot with random path finding 10 years ago.

Other than this major issue, couple small issues as well

* App complains about dust bag near 30 day mark, even tho the bag is rated for 120 days * App cannot show correct settings when entering setting view for the first time * Robot back wheel started to make squeaking noise * Robot internal dust bin will leak long and tangled rubbish like pet furs through its bottom observation window due to base station cannot suck it out successfully * Even during its peak performance, it doesn't seem to prioritise its camera feed, some obvious obstacles still cannot avoid it especially near glasses / mirrors, bumps into it every time * Customer support is not helpful with canned answers, no firmware updates despite reported issues

----- Update ------- * Fixed terrible pathfinding by re-mapping, I had to debug myself, canned answers from the support is definitely not helpful * Changed my rating to 3 stars as when it works it works well, be prepared to debug buggy behaviour by yourself when it doesn't work
