Sovereign Rest Latex & Wool Mattress (Queen size) – I'm allergic to fire retardant, so I can't buy a normal mattress. After much research, I bought a Latex & Wool mattress from The Natural Bedding Company (Stanmore, NSW), as they are fairly local to me. After spending about 2 hours in the shop lying on all the mattresses (the staff were very patient & helpful, despite me wanting to try every mattress in the shop), I settled on the Sovereign Rest, Queen size.

Unlike many latex mattresses that weigh 60-70kg, this one is only about 45kg, and they have pointed me to a video online that shows you how to turn it easily. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't comment on that aspect.

The mattresses are hand made and I was quoted 2 weeks delivery. The mattress arrived within 1 week, so I was very happy. There was, however, a minor problem with the mattress (I guess this happens occasionally with handmade items). After discussing it with the store manager, they fixed the issue perfectly, and quickly, no drama at all. I was very impressed by this aspect of their customer service.

I love my new mattress. It's quite firm but very comfortable and supportive. I am sleeping like a baby. It's easy to make, despite the weight, because the corners flip up easily. I was very nervous about buying a new mattress - such a large outlay, and you don't really know what you're getting until you've slept on it a while, and in most cases, can't return it. But I am very happy with the Sovereign Rest. Definitely not for anyone who likes a very soft mattress though. My old mattress used to give me terrible back-aches (should have ditched it years ago), but I have not woken up with a sore back since the 2nd night on this one.

As a result of my experience, I am more than happy to recommend both the Sovereign Rest latex/wool mattress and the store. Their prices were also among the best of any I had seen online. Big thumbs up, guys!

Excellent firm mattress – I weigh around 86kg and 190 cm tall. Reviewed all the websites looking for a firm mattress because previous highly rated memory foam mattress was causing lower back stiffness and minor pain on waking every morning. Purchased the Supreme mattress from Natural Bedding Company in Oct 2016. The mattress is very firm but no longer have any back issues and now look forward to each night's sleep. Not as cheap as internet based sellers but worth every cent and made in Sydney from natural materials. Highly recommended if you are looking for a very firm but comfortable mattress.

An update after 6 months use - this mattress is very firm and provides excellent support for sleeping on back - no sagging! When sleeping on side it did not provide enough support between the contact points at hips and shoulder, so there was some slight residual stiffness and pain in the lower back. I purchased a 50 mm latex mattress topper (from Latex Bedding PL) on 20 April 2017. This provides the necessary support along the body and with the firm base has virtually eliminated any lower back stiffness or pain.
