Great dual dashcam

published

We have Navman dual camera dashcams (MiVue 800) in our two vehicles for a couple of years and they are fantastic. My wife was recently given a company car and she wanted the reassurance of a dashcam. Purchased this camera a few weeks ago and I installed it last weekend. Works perfectly. Both cameras are smaller than our old models and the front camera sits snuggly behind the rear view mirror. I installed using the 12 volt plug. Good features, great functionality. 2 year warranty. Highly recommended.

Purchased in November 2020 at The Good Guys.

Buyer beware

published

Have a 2019 Hybrid. Not suitable for a hybrid as voltage fluctuates when in EV mode. Dashcam requires 5 volts for continuous No warnings on packaging no comment from salesman at JB HiFi. Contacted customer support after spending on installation then further checks. Their response sorry cant help. This product is under warranty and I should get a replacement model that suits my vehicle.

Hi Support, recently purchased a mivue830 dc, 1st problem is that the cable that runs to the rear camera is to short, 2nd problem ,the double adapter where the the 3 cables join is to short, rather than having this join up along the dash board it should be long enough to tuck under the dash board. 3rd query is how to check the speed showing on the dash cam as this differs from the car speedo by about 4 to 5 kmh, so which one is incorrect?

Hi Lipp,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Regarding the rear camera cable, we can provide an 8 meter cable as replacement. Please send an email with your Full Name, Phone Number, Serial Number, Date of Purchase, Shipping Address to our email support team at pcnsupportaus@navman.com.au and we will send you an 8 meter rear camera cable.

For the second problem, can you please confirm if you are referring to the Y cable? The Y cable has standard length and the car power adapter is long enough to reach the Y Cable if hidden under the sidings of the car.

Regarding the speed shown on dash camera, the speed is being calculated based on the information gathered through GPS satellites and may differ from the actual speed of the car which is being measured by its wheels. The speed shown on the device is -/+ 15kph from the actual speed of the car.

If you will have any other concerns, please feel free to send an email to our email support team at pcnsupportaus@navman.com.au.

Kind Regards,

Hi, i recently (6 weeks now) bought a navman mivue 830 dc dashcam, and a new samsung micro sd card on the same transaction, from the first day i installed it, i kept getting a card error, so i would eject the card and reinsert it, it would work fine for a day or 2, then the error would pop back up, same process, eject and reinsert, etc. This ocassionally happens twice within 2 minutes, I would say on average, this happens at least 10 times a week, i viewed some recorded videos on my pc, front and back records great, so i dont really know what the problem is.
I dont think its the card, otherwise it wouldnt work at all, any advice on whether it may be faulty? I own an older navman dash cam (only front cam), had it for over 5 years and never seen this error once, any suggestions?

Hi Peter,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

The problem that you had described sounds like it has something to do with the SD card. We need to confirm the name, Class, Size and the type of the Samsung SD card that you have. The device should be compatible with Samsung Pro Endurance (U1) microSD (32GB). The complete list of recommended SD cards can be found on the link below:

https://www.navman.com.au/memory-card

If the SD card is compatible with the dash camera, please check if it can be returned and replaced from the place of purchase and see if a replacement SD card will resolve the problem.

In case that you will need further assistance from us, please send an email to our email support team at pcnsupportaus@navman.com.au and we’d be glad to provide further resolution.

Kind Regards,
The Navman Team

On second thought, you mentioned 32gb can it be a 64gb?

Hello I just got the Navman DDR MiVUE 380DC and was wondering how you get the camera to automatically turn on and off when you start up and turn off the car?

Hi Graeme,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

The Mivue830 should turn on automatically once connected to the Navman car power adapter and once the car is turned on and it should start normal recording. Once the car’s ignition is switched off, the device should turn off automatically after few seconds.

If the dash camera is not turning on automatically when the car is turned on, can you please try to connect to another power source such an AC Adapter to check if it will turn on automatically?

Can you also please confirm if you are using a Smartbox or if the cigarette lighter port is direct powered from the car’s battery? If yes, this may be the reason why the device is not turning off automatically when the car’s ignition is turned off.

Please also ensure you are using a Micro SD card that is compatible with the dash camera. The list of compatible SD cards can be found on the link below: https://www.navman.com.au/memory-card

For any other concerns, you may also send an email to our email support team at pcnsupportaus@navman.com.au.

Kind Regards,
