Buyer beware, Inferior mattresses of poor quality – This mattress which I paid over $3000 for is if very poor quality, supplied by Beds and dreams Castle Hill and promised the world. The reality is that the mattress has developed a significant dip to the point I cannot roll to the other side of the king bed as its like rolling your body up an embankment. This developed after 6 months of sleeping in… Read more

it, yet I have a 13 year old posturepedic mattress in my daughters room that is still like new. Do not be fooled by the fancy marketing and new brands on the market, the tried and tested brands that have been here for decades are still selling for a reason. I have lodged a claim today as my wife cannot even sleep on my side of the bed anymore when I am travelling for work.

Some people make me laugh – All the people complaining about how the mattress isn’t right for them, yous do realise this mattress has a 100 day trial. If you’re not happy with it you can get a full refund. Cant complain about that.

Sleeping in a ditch – For the first year the bed was great after we got used to it but slowly two distinct depressions became apparent and sleeping was painful. We did get support from beds n dreams to cover cost of refoaming but we paid freight to VIC. Only 6 months after getting it back and a firmer topper we have the same ditches. I’ve been told by the manufacturer… Read more

that maybe I brought the wrong mattress. No concession at all that the mattress has a fundament issue.

Update - after raising the issue again and the mattress being taken away it was agreed that there was an issue and it was replaced but told this was our final support. after sleeping in the bed for some time we replaced it.

Further to this we had similar issues after a new foam top and they agreed to replace it but said… Read more

Mattress has not lasted – Initially the mattress was great. Purchased in Aug 2021 and now In May 2022 it has not held up. Both of us end up rolling into the middle into each other. It is not enjoyable. Would not recommend. Show details

Hated it for 3 months love it after 1 year needs breaking in – Bought a queen in medium and for 3 months I hated it. I am a very small frame, only 42kg. I had such painful sleeps to the point I slept on our sofa. I was literally waking up in pain through the night for weeks. My 90kg husband hated it for about 2 weeks and loved it after. The larger your frame, the faster it is to break it in. In the end I… Read more

bought a $500 top of the line mattress topper and I could sleep on it pain free and gradually broke it in.

We've since upgraded to a sleeping duck in King and given this mattress to our 4 year old but I still love sleeping on it and it's fine without the topper. Better than the sleeping duck half half which we bought but the sleeping duck didn't need any time to break it. It was good from the 1st night and a third of the price. However, I am pretty confident this mattress will remain comfortable for much longer.

Worth the investment if you're prepared to break it in or buy a really good topper to ride it out.

uncomfortable – Mattress is supposed to be the best. Well I found that after 1-2 hours trying to sleep I developed terrible pain in my shoulders and found I had to turn over all through the night to get comfortable. I can no longer sleep on the mattress and it has been shifted into the spare room. We have gone back to sleeping on our 12 year old pillow top which… Read more

Terrible mattress DON’T BUY IT – Side sleepers. Lay on the Ultra Plush in store for an hour in the Fortitude Valley store and it was soft but supportive. The mattress we received has no support, like the store model. The manufacturer has denied there is an issue with the mattress and the Fortitude Valley has refused even a partial refund. We could only sleep on the mattress for a… Read more

couple of nights and I’ve been getting medical treatment for the back pain I have from sleeping on it. I had to constantly move around on the mattress to get even a small amount of support. Was like sleeping in a ditch or hammock.

Terrible disappointment – Our mattress was supportive for about 3 months before it started to sag. We now have huge body imprints (I know body impressions are expected over time) and we’ve only owned the mattress for a year. It is causing both of us to experience back pain. I feel like I’m sleeping in a ravine.  Show details

Disappointed – I sleep on my side and find the mattress is too firm in the shoulder and upper arm area. It creates a pressure point, causing me to toss and turn all night to relieve the pressure. The mattress is soft in the hip area and I suspect this contrast is putting my spine out of alignment as I wake up with a sore back every morning. The decorative… Read more

So far so good....even after six months – We purchased the Neo Luxe Vantage Firm Queen mattress at Beds n Dreams Belrose (see separate review). This bed was recommended to us as being one which is designed to be "cooler" than some others. We chose the Firm over the Medium because we found ourselves "sinking" into the Medium rather too much (and also, please be aware than not all… Read more

brands "Firm" are the same - the "Firm" edition of the Neo Luxe has, in fact, got plenty of softness on the surface, whilst of course giving very solid support). We also anticipate that the bed will soften over time.

The experience when we got the bed home was very much the same as that in the shop - i.e. the bed was comfortable, and you have a feeling of lying "on" the bed rather than "in" it. Also be aware of two things (1) it is a heavy bed, so much so that my wife cannot lift it to tuck in the sheets (2) it is a deep bed, I think some 40cms from top to bottom - this means that you can be quite a way off the floor, which may be a problem if you have a fear of heights:)

Importantly, we found the bed to be as cool or cooler than our previous bed (which we had for many many years).

Can't comment yet on how long lasting or durable the bed is, but as the title of this review says, "So far so good".

By the way, we bought the bed in one of the routine "Sale" cycles, and it was 50% off current list price. I'm not sure I would have been so keen to purchase at the full RRP of $4,500.

SIX MONTHLY UPDATE JUNE 2018

===========================

We have had this bed for six months now, over quite a warm Sydney summer. The mattress was cool enough and is not a matter for complaint at all. The bed remains firm, with just a small amount of "give" away from the edges compared to when we bought it. It still remains very firm though with plenty of support, and you still get the lying "on" it feeling. We remain quite satisfied with the purchase. Our only (small) issue is the weight of the mattress which makes it literally impossible for my wife to lift up when tucking in the sheets. Probably falls into the category of "first world problem".
