Easy to set up, great when it works but is unreliable
I purchased the Netgear EX6110 a week back from Officeworks, and after configuring it, was amazed at the improvement of this extender. I have marginal coverage at the East side of our home, and also desired some outdoor coverage to access my WIFI switches.
What I found is every day or two, I lose connection to the devices attached to the device. It appears that the devices are unable to obtain IP address albeit the signal is strong, and you are able to "connect" to the WIFI, but have no internet. This happens on both the 2.4G and 5G WIFI.... To remedy I have to give it a power reset. Even resetting my NBN primary router does not resolve the problem when it occurs. I have now enabled Fast Lane Router-to-Extender in 5GHz only and Extender-to-Device in 2.4GHz only (Router must support 5GHz band), hoping that was not overloading my 2.4G primary network, but the problem continues even after the latest update (Hardware Version: EX6110Firmware Version: V188.8.131.52) So, although it is a great performer when it works, it is unreliable...
Purchased in January 2020 at Officeworks Physical store for $128.00.
