account but to no avail. To her future tenants, please ALWAYS be careful. Be mindful of all the emails and charges she will send you because she will confuse you with a lot of different invoices which I can provide as a proof. Beware guys
Property manager – I have a few properties under management with the Newstead Realty and everything always gone smoothly even when things pop up unexpectedly the solution process is smooth. But I want to make a shout out to one particular member… Hayley is a absolute weapon… besides from when she’s in a meeting always so generous with her time, contactable after hrs, lunch breaks and weekends. 10 stars for her if I could. Second class for rental – I was a bit concern I was saw this review as I had sign rental agreement with this mob. It's true what they say from previous reviewer, they treat renter as second class citizen. They will try to get you for everything for bond money.

Professional, courteous and problem solver - Newstead Realty – Robert was the agent who sold us the property. Incompetent and unprofessional – We experienced conflict and resulting emotional stress upon moving out of our apartment in Kedron at the beginning of the year. Firstly, I had been informed by an agent during a house inspection in early 2014 that our outdoors area was due to be professionally cleaned using a Karcher steam cleaner. The agent assured me that this would be taken care of at no cost to me. The cleaning was never organised, and almost a year later, the outdoors area was listed as unacceptable and dirty upon moving out despite our continued efforts to sweep the dirt away. (There was also no tap or hose outlet in this outside area so our cleaning ability was greatly decreased.)
Secondly, due to botched shower repair work, my ensuite shower would leak daily; again, I flagged this at several house inspections with no follow-up. This led to a small build-up of grime on the connecting floor tiles. This too was listed as unacceptable at the final inspection.
Because of these two issues which were largely out of our control, and despite our best cleaning efforts, we were billed a large amount of money to have the entire apartment re-cleaned. This amount of money was completely disproportionate to the actual cleaning issues at hand.
Upon receiving my (depleted) bond, I was surprised to only have received half of what I was owed. After my first year of renting, my housemate moved overseas and signed her portion of the rent to me on an official RTA form. I emailed the form back to Newstead Realty as requested.
I called the RTA this afternoon and was informed that the Change of Bond Request form was never received from Newstead Realty. Therefore, my former housemate has received half of my bond. I now am in the position of personally negotiating the return of money that has been sent to her.
There have been too many instances of incompetence, lack of care and general rudeness in my dealings with Newstead Realty. I advise any potential tenant to think very carefully before taking their business to them.
Avoid Newstead Realty – Newstead Realty are both unethical and unprofessional in their dealings with tenants. I rented an apartment from them in Kelvin Grove that had a serious mould issue examined by a mould remediation expert that we hired (as we were concerned) and who ordered that we leave immediately due to unsafe levels of mould. the lease until then, and so we were suddenly forced to find temporary accommodation and pay substantial costs for decontaminating all our contents as instructed by the mould remediator. The agent refused to take any responsibility or compensate us in any way. And instead of rectifying the issue they simply re-advertised the apartment when we moved out. I only hope no other tenant suffers what we did.
