Its actually scary how well this works
I bought this on a whim thinking it wasn't going to do much and that perhaps it was a gimmick. But no...it actually works really well. I personally have an extremely sensitive sense of smell, bad odors make me gag and it doesnt help that I have a sensitive stomach either. So when I bought this I didnt expect it to actually get rid of every bit of odor in the house. I use it for the bin especially, I use it on our dogs' mat too because I hate the smell of animals in the house. It works well for when all the windows in the house have been closed... Read moreand you want to get rid of that funky smell. I am going bring this to my work and use it in the bathroom because that smells horribly and test it out. I can imagine how helpful this would be for pregnant women who get nauseas at certain smells too. This doesnt have a scent to it, it just neutralises the already existing odor, so it makes it smell like nothing, which is especially great for me since i like to use minimal artificial fragrances as possible. Wonderful product, will certainly buy again.
This is highly toxic and stripped the color from my dashboard
Ok so before any of the Nilodor reps come at me, I know that Nilodor is not to be used on plastic surfaces. I had a piece of sponge that sits by my air vents that I would drop the drops onto in order for the smell to circulate throughout the car. A drop of this leaked onto my dashboard and within a couple of hours the drops had corroded away my black dash - BUYERS BEWARE do not use this anywhere that you will be breathing it in in an enclosed space especially. If it has done this to my dash I do not want to be breathing it in that's for sure. Disappointing purchase that states it's non toxic

Rat wee in wooden floor boards - worked when nothing else did.
Rat wee had soaked into a corner of the wooden floor over a period of up to a month and the smell was something else through that whole room. I scrubbed them with bleach and scrubbing brush, mopped with vinegar in the water, wiped everything out with disinfectant, did the bicarb and vinegar mix thing, husband sprayed febreeze over everything - after a couple of weeks of repeating all of the above with no significant improvement I was ready to put the whole house in the bin. Someone suggested nilodor to me and I was ready to try anything so imme... Read morediately purchased from Woollies for $8. I had read in others' reviews that it's important not to use too much, so first I put just the recommended number of drops (two from memory, but whatever the pack said) in a bucket of water and mopped the floor in that whole room with that. Then put one cotton ball with 2 drops in the aircon vent of that room, and one cotton ball with 2 drops on the floor in the offending corner. I couldn't smell the nilodor itself at all after doing these things. By the next day the stench had significantly improved. I put another two drops on each of the two cotton balls and by the following day the smell was gone. It's now a week later and the original cotton balls are still in the aircon and on the floor but I haven't re-applied the nilodor on them since that second application. I still can't smell nilodor in the room so I don't know if it's still working or if it's worn out but the rat wee stink is gone already anyway... I don't know how it works. But it works!

Nilodor is excellent.
Nilodor is simply the best, eliminating all different odours, especially cigarette smoke.
I have been using Nilodor for many years, and wouldn’t use any other deodorizer. No other
deodorizer comes close to it.

Dead rat smell gone in minutes!
We had a dead rat in the roof, unable to get it out, it smelt so bad. Had windows, doors open for days, 2 air purifiers, fan, constant air freshener spray, smell was still there. Then I applied a few cotton buds with this product and put them against a window and fan, it neutralised the air. No rat smell. I can walk past and not hold my breath. It smelt pleasant. It lasts for ages. Really does get rid of odours.

Amazing but don't use too much
We have a holiday rental, that smells of cooking smells & almost like a wet dog smell. We always wash the air con filter & range hood filter, we've had the carpets cleaned to no avail. I then remembered Nilodor. I bought a bottle & placed 2 drops on the air con filter. We used the air con 2 nights in a row for a few hours & no smell anymore. I think just having the air con on just filtered the air from the house. In all honesty I think 1 drop would've done the trick, the 1st night all we could smell was Nilodor. Highly recommend.

This liquid works great for removing all types of smells. I think the big mistake people make is using too much. I put a drop or two on a scrunched up tissue and within a couple of hours all odours are gone for days. If you use more than this, you smell the Nilodor which is really strong and can be unpleasant. Be careful not to spill it on your hands or clothes as they will become smelly too. The tiny bottle last for months. So a little common sense and care and I think you'll find it's an amazing product.

The only thing Nilodor does is cover unpleasant smells with its equally unpleasant smell, especially in the bathroom! Its so potent that if you accidentally get it on your clothes , it's impossible to get rid of the smell.
IT DOES NOT WORK!

Simply blown away with how good this works.
Old house, possum & owl season, owl must have dropped the bit he didn't want to eat (most of the carcass) down an old sealed chimney. The smell was eye watering, with the still heat we've been having the stink honestly took substance.
I was ready to spend a few hundred dollars on a ozone machine when an neighbor (who could smell it from the driveway) told me about this product.
As the stench was toxic it took almost 2 days to clear BUT it took ONLY 2 days to not cover (like every other method I tried) but remove the dead possum smell complete... Read morely! That's incredible. That's just crazy fast. Do read the instructions, I was liberally splashing this on cotton balls and dropping them in corners as well as lobbing them into the old chimney and a little does go a long way, I over did it at first as I could smell the Nilodor (you're not suppose to be able to smell it when you use it) and it gave me the worst headache until I ran around and picked up 80% of the cotton balls, the Nilodor scent went and in less than 2 days it cleared the air. A possum takes anywhere up to 12 weeks to decompose so every week I just refresh the cotton balls a little and not once has the stink crept back in. Amazing product! If you have an overwhelming stink you just can't get rid of, use this.
Dead Rat !!
Real bad smell coming from WIR, the WIR has some cable holes , so turns out a RAT fell in into brick work in roof space & died .. I removed 90% of RAT could not get to other part of RAT so smell was still there , Nilodor on a saucer in WIR topped up every day , left window open in bedroom, after 1st day can’t smell the RAT , but still topped up for a week.
anyone know who invented this product? Can only see it was available in USA since 1955 , but no history on who invented ? purchased from a IGA store in Perth.

Stong smell to get rid of strong smells!
This is a great little product. For such a little bottle of stuff, it packs a punch. I wear plastic gloves when using so it doesn't get on my fingers.
I don't quite like the smell it creates, but usually a whole lot better than the one you're trying to get rid of!
My best friend couldn't get rid of a cat urine odour.. Until this product.
My best friend recently had a cat move in with a boarder. The boarder and cat are no problem except the odour of urine as the cat does not leave the owners bedroom often. Even with kitty litter and conventional odour eliminators, nothing seemed to work for my friends sensitive nose. So I suggested a product that had been highly recommended to me by a truckie friend who successfully masks the odour of cigarette smells inside the cabs and interiors of cars and trucks he drives. Also hotel and motel rooms, as his socks and shoes really stink after a full day.
After testing this product 30 minutes ago, my friend messaged me and said..

Gets rid of every pesky, unwanted scent!
This product is a lifesaver when it comes to unwanted smells in the kitchen, bathroom, or anywhere for that matter. I used this for a spill in the car, and it instantly took away the scent. I have also used this in a bottle cap and placed it into the fridge to get rid of mouldy/rotten smells, and added to kitchen bins when they get a bit smelly. A huge tip is that you only need a tiny drop for each situation as it can be quite overpowering if too much is used. It is a product that every household should keep in their cupboard.

Great for freshening up kids bedrooms.
I've kept a bottle of Nilodor in my house for many years. Really good stuff! Lovely menthol/peppermint smell, too. Great for when the kitchen bin is a bit on the nose, or when the large rubbish bin outside is starting to smell.
Years ago when my son was living at home, his bedroom always had a very 'ordinary' smell to it! (You will know what I'm talking about if you've got teenage boys in the house!). When he was out working part-time, I would often put a saucer in his room for an hour or two, with a drop or two of Nilodor on it. The room alw... Read moreays smelt so much fresher & nicer after I did that.. Much easier & more economical doing that than spraying Glen 20 around all the time. Nilodor is very easy to use. Just upend the bottle, give the bottom a tap, & one drop is dispensed. Apply one drop near odour source. Not to be used on painted, varnished, plastic or rubber surfaces. A tiny 7.5ml bottle lasts for ages & ages. The label on the bottle says 200 drops from one bottle. Great product. Just remember to wash your hands after using it. Can be found in any supermarket, in the laundry aisle. Under $10.00, I think. Been so long since I've bought some, I can't remember the exact price.

Questions & Answers
Can any Nilodor product be used for pouring down bathroom sink drain? Drain smells bad and I've used the baking soda vinegar hack? Smell leaves for a bit but back in a week
I never had to use it for the bathroom sink, so I could say, if my sink is fishy, after cooking fish, I spray some around the sink and it gets rid of fishy smell. You can try pouring the hot water with it down the sink. It can’t hurt. Or dry the sink, then wipe the sink with one drop of Nil, and it will kill the smell coming from the sink. Best of luck.
When I was on holiday my friend accidentally switched off the fridge. All meat and fish spoiled inside. I used bi-cab soda and dishwashing liquid to clean all parts and interior. Kept doors open for more than 24hrs.
Still small bad. Can I use this product to eliminate odour and how to use it.?
