Great for it's time – This was the first mobile I ever owned and I still treasure all the fond memories of using it in my high school days. I received it some time in 2004. One great thing is that it was affordable even when I was young. I think the price was less than 100AUD, but I wasn't game to ask how much mum spent as it was a gift. The phone was really basic… Read more

and easy, but still had some great features: 3 games, an alarm, reminders, and the unforgetable composer feature that I often used to make my own ringtones.

Sure it didn't have much storage space for messages, but it worked well during calls. I also loved how the cover and rubber keys could be changed to something snazzy and came in many different colours.

As a kid, pulling off the cover and taking the battery out to pop a sim card in also made me feel like some kind of super tech genius XD

Best of all, Nokia's 2100 was small enough to fit into pockets and had those epic little notches on the white sides to hang phone charms from - I really wish there was an easy way to hang charms on more phones these days. To top it off, there was even a small frame on the back side of the cover to show off your favourite pictures or stickers.

By today's standards the software is like something from the stone age, but the Nokia 2100 is the one phone I will always remember as the beginning of my journey into the tech scene. What really makes it a cut above all the fancy phones, despite basic software (which I still love), is that it bounced! I dropped mine quite a few times as an active kid and it lived through each fall like a champ.

Although it was really basic and didn't even have a camera, it was also very customisable and fun to use without being a big distraction like the phones of today. One thing that mattered most was how long the battery lasted between charges. I could usually go about 2-3 days without needing a recharge, but after a few years the battery had to be replaced as it wore out over time.

If I could ever find another phone like the 2100, but with 5g, I would definitely buy one.

Great – Really good phone kind of hard to make phone calls because you have to hold it up to make one great for jobs on a building site and really rugged

OK – It does a decent job of calling others and I have to say, it does it pretty well. I was a tad disappointed that it came with very few features. its cheap and does exactly what a phone is meant to do-call people. It makes my friends laugh at me, because it's so old and has very few features

Excellent – The Nokia 2100 was my first mobile phone, and as people upgraded to their new and fancy phones that did this and that, I never even cared because this phone was so easy to use and did everything I wanted without complicating things. It is really a great phone, I would still be using it today if I could find a battery to replace the dead one. A… Read more ·  1

great phone, very durable, easy to use, nice screen backlight, good features-- nothing unnecessary like with newer phones. After years of use, the battery started to die-- though this WAS after much, much use.

Good – This phone is a good worker and is great if you just want a phone for answering and making phone calls. It has quite a few features and has great reception. While this does not look like the most sexy and stylish phones out there, it is a great phone that has good reception and quite a few different features. If you are looking for a basic phone… Read more

that will be used for answering calls and doing text messages than this one is a good pick. It is cheap to buy and you can often pick one oup on a pre paid plan for not a lot of money. It is very basic.

Good – One of my first mobile phones was the Nokia 2100 and it really is a great, simple and easy to use phone. These phones do not cost a lot of money and while they are not featuring all the whizz bang features you can get these days, they are still a great phone with everything you need if you just want a phone for mainly making calls and texting… Read more

people. Affordable and long lasting phone. Works great and will last for a while. It does not feature a lot of modern features that many mobile phones do, but it does the job.

Good – The best thing about this oldie is that the battery lasts for ages, probably because it doesn't have unecessary features. It works well on the basics of phoning and sms'ing - the keypad is easy to use and sound quality is good. It also has a loud ringtone and the black and white screen although outdated is easier to see in sunlight than many of… Read more

the newer coloured screens. Another pro is that it has the game 'snake' pre installed which is a game many of us have memories using in our teenage years! Excellent battery life, simple no nonsense features, good sound quality, easy to see screen in sunlight Black and white screen

Good – This is a very reliable phone that I've had for over six years. I've dropped it numerous times - once I accidentally dropped it down some concrete stairs. I've had it in my pocket when it's rained and soaked me. I had to replace the battery after just over five years (as well as the cover), but it's working fine. Great for someone who only wants a… Read more

phone for text messaging and making calls. It has no camera and so is ideal for taking to concerts (or workplaces) where cameras aren't allowed. This phone will last you a long time, and will make a great back up should you decide to buy a more modern phone. Reliable, simple, sturdy, good size, no camera no MMS, no colour, old, no bluetooth

Good – This phone was a great purchase as a second basic phone I needed. After I used it I put a prepaid sim card in it and gave it to my dad as his first mobile phone Just a simple, easy to use phone. It is a great basic phone with no fancy schmancy fuss. Nothing - it is a great basic phone.

Excellent – This was one of my first ever phones; I got it in junior high school. It lasted me a very long time, the battery life naturally decreased but that was fair as I talked on it for more than 2-3hours per day. If the new phones with cameras, colour, etc hadn't come out this would be my choice! Great for those who just need a phone, minus the… Read more

complicated features etc. Reliable. Easy to use. Simple. Stylish design compared to many other phones that were on the market at the same time. Quick functions. Easy to message and do things very fast. The original SNAKE! No colour. No camera etc. Basically very old technology.

Good – Overall, it is a good basic phone, the Nokia 2100 would not be a phone for those who like to have a lot of features on their phones. I would recommend the phone to anyone who is after an easy to use phone! The Nokia 2100 is a good reliable phone, typically sold as a pre-paid phone a few years ago. Easy to read in the sunlight as it does not have a… Read more

colour screen. Features a calculator, calendar etc. You can send and receive SMS messages, make calls easily enough! Phone keypad can be a bit small, and also a lack of features.

Excellent – I have really liked the Nokia 2100 since I saw it in the store and bought one for myself and one for my husband. The only problems that we have found with this mobile is that it does not have a camera and you can not use the newer cordless bluetooths on it. Apart from that it has been a terrific phone. We have never had any problems with them, and… Read more

Excellent – A great budget phone.  The best phone I've owned.  Unbeatable for the price. This is a great budget phone.  Does everything I want from a mobile except maybe a calender.  it's small, light, still good battery life after 2 1/2 years. The lettering on the key pad finally wore off after 2 years and the nokia express-on cases DON"T come with a keypad insert, so had to get an aftermarket.  Other than that, nothing.

Good – Before I got a mobile phone, I really wanted this one because it was so cute. Then I got it and was really happy with it, as it did all I needed it to do. If you don't mind not having a colour phone, then this is a good choice. It's a great phone with all the features you could hope for in a black and white phone. It is cute, small and fun. It is a good first phone. It's not colour.
