Nokia by name only – Brought the Nokia 3310 3g as an update as I like small feature phones, lasted less then a week went straight back to my S40 Nokia 208,everything is second rate in the 3310 operating system compared to the S40 os,Nokia time to bring S40 os back for your feature phones please until then ill stick with me good 7 year old Nokia 208,rate the 3310 2 out… Read more
of 10 and 208 9 out of 10, would have given it 10 if it had a better camera. I recommend if you like feature phone don't waste your money on Nokia's new phone's try get a second hand 301 or 208 and use Aldi's network which they use Telstra's towers for these old phone's, handset's must have 3g 850 band or they won't work, cheers.

very annoying keyguard – The right button, which finish the call, activate keyguard in same time. So keyguard may be "off" in settings, but it will be activated anyway every time you finish the call. To make call you always have to waste time to disable keyguard, disregarding it already "off" in settings. Emergency calls are not possible because keyguard always "on"
Nokia in the bad ways, Smartphone in the bad ways – I purchased one of these (Vodafone) yesterday and am already massively unimpressed. Pros: -Looks kind of like a Nokia -T9 dictionary (if you want the nostalgia, otherwise a horrid con) -Appears more durable than modern "glass" phone -seems to have a ton of standby life and a battery with larger capacity than most modern smart phones -SNAKE!… Read more
(for those of us old enough to have the old 3310, 3315.. but its nowhere near as good IMO)
Cons:
-Sometimes I get horrid "clipping" on calls but this could possibly due to poor network and congestion in my area.
-Half the "installed" games have 180 second demos before you have to buy them, with no apparent way to remove from the device and if you purchase, aren't linked to anything but that specific handset..
-If you want to use a Micro SD (within the 32 GB limitation) it needs to be formatted in FAT32 (outdated file system) and will require the use of a PC as I am unaware of any company selling FAT32 formatted MicroSD On that: Start, Run, CMD, cd x:, "Format X: /FS:FAT32 /f" (where X is your MicroSD drive letter and no quotes" (I did find 1 for sale on Amazon in FAT32 format but it is a no name brand and generally this means it has been made to look bigger than it actually is) There is also no provision within the phone to perform this critical process.. so if you don't have a PC (Or Mac I guess!) or decent PC skills, I would avoid entirely.
-Has a bunch of annoying "smart phone bugs" like random crashes of apps like messages, or some strange thing where the phone kept repeating the last 6 message I received over and over like someone was sending them to me at a rate of 6 a second until I closed the app and reopened it
-No way to update or otherwise flash firmware to correct these issues
-USB error when plugging in the device and asked if want to select "charge only" or "Mass storage" selecting "Mass storage" will sometime produce and error that the USB is in use and cannot be put into MS mode, correct by disconnecting and reconnecting device.. sometimes this may take several attempts.
-Awful call quality, sometimes the line? or handset? garbles the call so badly as to be 100% unintelligible for either party.
Don't call me – I've had the Nokia 3310 for about a year and during that time, I've found the call quality to be hit and miss. Sometimes it's clear then other times (and I'd say about 70% of the time) I just can't make out what the caller is saying. I tend to tell people to text me, don't call, as I have no confidence that I'll be able to understand what's… Read more
being said. I don't need anything fancy as I really only carry it in case of emergency. All I want is a phone that makes and receives calls with text as well - I don't even use the camera and never use it for internet access.
Excellent feature phone – I seldom write anything online, but had to add a comment after reading many of the reviews on this page. I'm not sure where the hostility towards this device is coming from. I own the 3g version (as 2g coverage is basically obsolete in Canada), and have found that doing some up-front work with the settings resolves nearly all of the issues that… Read more
people seem to be having with the phone. It does a great job of calling/texting (in Canada, anyway), and if you are old enough to have used the original Nokias in the 90s/early 2000s, you will have no problems knowing how to navigate the menu or use the various typing options (i.e. typing with or without predictive text, etc.). Any menu variances from the original can be easily figured out by reviewing the online manual and user guide for this device. Problems with MMS messaging and internet set-up can be resolved by setting up a new access point, again, instructions for which can be found online. It's a great (adorable) little phone with excellent battery life. I look forward to seeing what the 4g version can do when I decide to upgrade.
Happy – I recently purchased the updated Nokia 3310 as a downgrade from my iPhone 6S. The phone itself looks fun and vibrant. So far, I have found it super easy to navigant and very user friendly. It works on the 3G network which is good as a lot of basic phones are on 2G and unusable with most providers. I would recommend the Nokia 3310 to anybody looking to purchase a straightforward, reasonably priced phone with lots of added nostalgia! Show details
Total rubbish – Unusable, with ridiculously complicated, nonsensical instructions. Nothing intuitive about it at all. Clearly designed by morons, and not particularly cheap. Mine will shortly be going into the garbage bin, after three days of unbridled frustration. And the camera is rubbish. They should be ashamed to sell such junk. Zero stars. Don't waste your money. features are ok but not very well made – purchased a new 3310 for my son. the phone is a classic nokia with all the classic looks and sounds. very basic whihc is perfect. the make and the housing of the phone are cheap and not very durable. cheap plastic back. printing on buttons has worn away and phone memory size is a little too small Show details
One man's trash is another man's treasure – All I can say is …..Bad camera Show details
Just OK for calls – Obviously this is a nostalgia phone but it does have a kind of web browser but boy oh boy is it average. I tried getting through the whole day with it and although a lot of people commented on iot, in reality it was quite frustrating. Long battery life and good call quality but its not really all that usable Show details
Bought it fpr a bit of fun – This was the classic impulse purchase! They had them at the supermarket on super special for $29. That's great but I forgot it was locked to Vodafone so that's limited its usability for me. It was a bit of fund to see what they have done with the old classic (used to have areal one) and its now in the desk draw for 'later" Show details
3310 intermittent garbled conversations – Rubbish, bought 2 both had the same problem of garbled conversations. Nokia help desk had no answer, and stopped answering my emails. the best they could do was to try a factory reset, which does not rectify the problem. Stay away. nokia do not have a fix for the problem. Show details

Know better, choose better.
Novelty item only – I don't really know what possessed me to part with money for this - pure novelty item and stuck on only 3G. It only takes about five minutes of mucking around with it to get over it. I will keep it because it was cheap and it will be an OK pub phione,. Show details
Bought for fun – I bought this for abit of fun because it was one special for $29 and I used to have a real one back in the day. I probably should have saved my money because after playing around with if for 15 minutes I became bored with it and haven't actually used it at all. Its only 3g and its kind of limited. Fun memory - not really useful Show details
Solid phone for simple use – I’ve found that the Nokia 3310 is a very durable phone over the few months that I’ve owned it, living up to my expectations as I do tend to be quite rough with it and it is still in perfect shape. Another good feature is the battery life which is very impressive. Unfortunately the phone also has some downsides such as the inability to use… Read more
messaging apps on it apart from texting which is quite frustrating
Overall a good phone for simple texting and calling
can't write text – might as well buy a pidgeon to send a message ,as instructions are useless nothing like the old phones whoever bought out nokia should be ashamed.could not believe how complicated the menu is . cant save numbers when people call ,the user guide that comes with phone might as well be a roll of toilet paper . Call Quality and Battery Life – Sadly I have been disappointed with the rerelease of the Nokia 3310. Both the battery life and the call quality have not been up to the brandsrevious reputation. Calls drop out or can not be understood despite appearing to have good coverage. The battery lasts barely beyond a day despite only being used for phone and sms services. Was trying to… Read more
avoid buying a smartphone as I did not want to pay for unnecessary services and apps, but it seems I am at a point where I no longer have any other choice.
A dud. Disappointing from Nokia – Bought this phone a month ago because I wanted to get rid of my smart phone. It usually functions properly, but sometimes the phone call quality is completely unintelligible. I can't find a pattern to it with regards to my location, callers location, callers phone etc.. Sometimes it happens in the middle of a call for a bit then clears up, other… Read more
times it doesn't work for several calls in a row. I returned my phone and got a replacement and the same problems are happening for the replacement.
For those of you looking for the nostalgia of the old 3310/3315 you won't really get it. It actually does several things _worse_ than the original (for instance the predictive text controls are annoyingly clunky). There are several usability issues, like hitting the return button to the main menu ends up opening the camera, and (very worryingly) when it's locked in my pocket I've pulled it out and been one key press from calling 000.
I'll be returning this one and getting my money back.
Excellent Phone - Unreliable Call Quality – I purchased my Nokia 3310 in December 2017. I am a big fan of Nokia and only needed to replace my old Nokia due to the shutdown of the 2g network in Australia. I work in a high tech role which requires me to travel all over the world. I have no need or desire for a Smartphone as I have enough technology in my life as it is. My old Nokia phone was… Read more
excellent and worked everywhere I traveled flawlessly with the exception of the US. The new Nokia 3310 is an excellent phone and does everything I need it to. It even works in the US. There is however a dark downside to the Nokia 3310. Around 30% of the calls I make or receive are absolutely unintelligible. The call quality is so bad that I have to hang up. This is embarrassing. When I call back the call quality is usually excellent. The problem is not related to the person I am calling and is totally random. My network (Optus) is aware of the problem with the Nokia 3310 and indicate it is related to the way the phone sources phone towers during calls. I contacted HMD regarding the problem and they suggested I replace the sim card. I have done this however the problem remains. I have contacted them once again and they have said they can do nothing other than forward my report to a higher department. I have contacted the retailer where I bought the phone. They advise they have received similar complaints from other customers. They are willing to send the phone back to HMD however advise that on previous occasions the phone is tested and returned as serviceable with the problem remaining. I really wanted the Nokia 3310 to be a great phone. Unfortunately I have had to stop using it. I have thrown my Nokia 3310 in to the naughty corner and moved to an Aspera F26 instead. The Aspera works all over the world as did the Nokia. It is nowhere near the general quality of the Nokia but...the call quality is consistent 100% of the time. HMD: please fix the call quality on the Nokia 3310 so I can use one with confidence as a reliable phone.
