Wouldn't recommend – Terrible camera quality, slow, glitchy and power/volume buttons are thin, hard to press and became even harder to press over time as they became stuck. Show details
Poor Phone – Have had three fatal problems in 3 years. Camera often won't focus, Bluetooth connectivity unreliable, battery life terrible. Now a design fault with the charging port had to be rectified at my cost. I'll be buying a Samsung A Series, soon probably! Show details
Biggest piece of junk around – Had this piece of garbage for over a year. Speakers are worthless. Sound is terrible. I don't even know if there is any sound adjustments features in the settings. Camera is pathetic. And just lately phone is crashing constantly and running extremely slow. I have not downloaded any new apps that may be bugged. I've never been an apple fan but I'm seriously considering buying one. Show details
Good phone but some issues – I love this phone, but it's not perfect. It is durable if I accidentally drop it. It has good speed and storage. Some issues with connecting to Android Auto in my car. Maybe because I have had the phone for 18 months. I had to get it repaired recently because the screen was completely black. I think it is a common issue with the phone because the repair technician seemed familiar with the issue and it was fixed quickly. Show details
The worst phone I have owned in 30 years – That's right, I have been using mobile phones since the 007 analogue phones and this is by far my worst experience. From early on, it wouldn't complete charging or more correctly, would discharge even though it was plugged in. It cannot be used for text entry when on charge as that introduces random extra characters at a significant rate. Now… Read more
it doesn't charge even though the charge indicator is on. Bluetooth pairing can be flakey. Voice quality and reception is acceptable. Note that it doesn't have NFC, so forget about contactless payment. Bought at Kogan.com.au September 2018.
Bluetooth, Camera and Battery Life Issues Mean there are much better Phone Options – A very strong and well made phone however - Bluetooth is generally unable to pair with other devices; a known problem that Nokia have not bothered to rectify. Regularly the camera takes pictures that are out of focus; a problem reported by users since the phone was available. Battery life is very ordinary. There are better mobile phones (start with the Samsung A20) that are also cheaper. Show details
Don't Buy This Phone – This is easily the worst phone I have ever had. To start with, it is functionally clunky. I constantly find myself pocket dialling, activating apps when I don't want to and just plain making my phone do stuff that I don't want it to because it is in my pocket. It is also so unintuitive. it does things like force you to answer your phone through… Read more
your smart watch or activity tracker once you have connected to it. Worst of all, help is so so hard to find. I would not recommend this phone to anyone. You have to figure things our yourself with an Android system that seems to be an odd fit and poorly thought through.
Value for Money (now that software update fixed 4G issue) – Had a Nokia 6.1 for over 18 months now, and it has been an OK phone. But, when the May 2018 'update' messed up the 4G use and had to lock to 3G it was a real hassle (slow internet, poor phone reception). It took Nokia way too long to fix the software bug (that was heavily reported by many other users on the Nokia 'community' support forum). It was… Read more
eventually fixed late 2018, and has been OK phone since.
Except, it just stopped working one day. Was fine, had used for photo's, sent a a text message and came back to it a few hours later and the phone was dead. Stopped working. Dead, dark no response. I took it for repairs (and rushed to buy another phone - see my review of he Nokia 7 plus). After about a week, the retailer called me to say the phone was working. They had done nothing, it had been left in their repair draw and worked when they went to log the repair a few days later. Weird.
Since then, it's worked ok. It's solid, having been dropped a couple of times (since that weird issue) and has now a few bruises on the aluminum shell, but no cracks in the glass, etc.
Just a shame Nokia seem to have poor / slow customer service.
Plagued with issues! – After update, the call volume is unhearable and has to be used on speaker. Sound quality is also horrible. Camera is very poor, slow to focus and worthless in low light. I was planning on taking it back, but got a few drops of water at the bottom of the phone and the mic has packed it in. This is a prime example when the cheap option doesnt turn out to the cheapest option.... You are better off buying almost anything else. Show details
Nokia Fails on Previous Success – Nice looking phone, with the back cover a smart looking glass and very thin. The only trouble is, it is very slippy. The clear plastic cover stops this but defeats the purpose of the stylish design. Blue tooth connect-ability is poor. Always trying many times to connect to devices that used to connect instantly with my previous Motorola. Headphone… Read more
jack will not work using aux cable. Sound quality through blue tooth is also poor when the volume is increased. After six month the usb charging port has failed, now I am unable to charge the phone. Seems to be a common problem from looking on the internet. Overall a very poor phone indeed.
Very good phone for the price. Stable and good battery life – I have had this phone for 6 months. I use it a lot for phone and bought the dual sim version. If you dont want to pay the $$$ for a decent android phone. I recommend this device 64GB/6GB ram, the phone has good hardware supported by AndroidOne. So it gets google security updates. Well built and the battery runs for a day without issues, usually… Read more
1.5 days on avg use. Fingerprint sensor and unlock works great, makes things easy Also Dual Sim is great (or 2nd slot is a memory expansion)
Camera on the phone is not the best (or the camera app isnt the best). You cant do fancy things with the pics but otherwise, works absolutely fine. The phone is missing NFC (this is why i didnt give it 5 stars), no idea why Nokia took this away. The OS does glitch a little but a restart usually fixes this (could also be cuz its an international model).
Great phone – The best phone when it comes to camera quality, speed and performance of the device. The slow-motion video quality could improve heaps as it is not the same quality as the normal video camera, but this is nothing compared to its other features. Show details
Breaks down after 4 months – Wanted to see if an Android Nokia was as reliable as the Nokias of old but was severely disappointed when the phone broke down - blank screen - in less than 4 months. Show details

Value for money – If you looking for extra mobile phone, this might be can be one of the best options. This single sim phone has a good camera and a big screen. Very cheap and value for money. Show details
A Great Mid-Range Phone – This is a solid mid-range phone, with a great stock Android experience. Apps run smoothly, although I haven't tested it on high performance apps/games. In good light the camera is great. Struggles in low-light and doesn't have some of the killer features of a flagship device. I purchased this phone after re-thinking my need for a flagship model - I wasn't disappointed. Show details
Nokia response to Android 9 upgrade bug very disappointing – Following installing the Android 9 upgrade, I discovered my Nokia 6.1 would no longer play mpl3 files. The 1300 contact number for Nokia Australia was disconnected so I was forced to use tech support chat. After going through the rig-a-roll of clearing app cache and storage, they finally admitted this was a 'known issue' with the upgrade and Nokia… Read more
was working on fix. However, they couldn't provide an estimated time frame on when it would be released. It has been 5 days already. I miss my music and I am travelling on Monday! I am astounded there is not more chatter about this online. Nokia's response to this bug is very disappointing. I have a new phone but these upgrades are not covered under the warrantee so I am stuck with a phone which is not fit for my purposes. When is Nokia going to fix this problem?!
Nokia 6.1 plus, Bluetooth horribly broken on Android 9 – Stock android is nice, handset is a little smaller than I expected. Camera OK. Bluetooth is plagued by an issue where if you're using SIM slot 1, the bluetooth stack doesn't send the cell signal to connected headsets or car systems. The car in turn thinks you're in a "No Service" area and won't let you make or receive calls via bluetooth. Issue… Read more
is noted on all Nokia dual-SIM devices, and has been posted on numerous forums online by people around the world.
Have logged with both google and Nokia support and developers numerous times, each refuse to issue a fix via OTA.
If you value being able to use your phone while on the move and remaining safe, avoid any Nokia devices until they fix the problem.
Great phone for the price – This phone works very well. Love the Android One which means it gets the some version upgrades (went from Android version 8 to version 9) and monthly updates. It has all the bands including 4G Band 28 which are used for Optus and Telstra. The full HD sreen is great, the sound is OK. It has VOLTE and NFC but I have not tried either. Many others… Read more
have mentioned that the camera is from very poor to OK. Well, towards the end of 2018 a software update came through which greatly improved the picture quality and response. For a phone that is about $350 I would say the camera is very good. I am very happy with it, and of course it wont be as good as a $1000+ phone.
The 6.1 has a solid metal back which is great, not glass which some other phones have, may look good but impractical.
Just after I received the phone I had a problem with the sim card being stuck in the tray (even though the SIM card was put in correctly), and this was sent away and fixed under warranty. While this was annoying the warranty process worked well and when returned it has worked well.
A terribly average phone – The phone doesn't charge unless i put upward pressure on the charge port, and yes i have tried multiple cables. The camera is terrible for a phone in this day and age. The phone crashes if there are a few chrome tabs open. The phone purchased from KOGAN, had a "3 Mobile" sim card in it when i received it. It looks nice, but performs terribly. Also, Nokia is just a badge now and the phone is not made by them. Show details
Waste of money – Purchased a new Nokia 6.1 mobile in Sept 2018, but yesterday while it was still ringing the caller was not hearing me and i could not hear them. On returning to the dealer they stated that they no longer stock nokia because of hardware issues with every nokia phone purchased in the last 6 months. Show details
Not a good buy – The phone is bigger than the Samsung I had and it actually gets hard to hold on to being large. Pictures are horrible to pixelated. I've not had it a week I would return it if I could. Not only is it too big, it's heavy and has a Sharpe feel. Show details
Excellent value midrange phone – The Nokia 6.1 is a value for money mobile phone. The free android updates keep it up to date and fixes any bugs. The body is nice and solid with a nice two tone finish. The fingerprint scanner works well and is conveniently placed. The camera is nothing special but is adequate for a phone camera. Phone calls are clear and the phone performs well with the 4G network Show details

Still trying to get used to it – I haven't really had the phone long, trying to see if I prefer andriod over an apple. I haven't got any complaints to date about the durability or brightness. Struggling with taking a screenshot and how to alter some settings. Some times it does appear that the apps freeze for a moment, however I'm impatient and want things to load instantly. Show details
Excellent phone considering price – Bought for around $300. Great performance. Solid build as you expect from Nokia. Love pure android without any bloatware. After using for few days, ended up buying another one for my partner. Camera is not one of the best but great in similar price range. I would highly recommend this phone. Show details
https://www.nokia.com/en_au/phones/nokia-6 – I was tired of paying top dollars for flagship phones. Have switched from Samsung S9+ to this Nokia 6.1 phone. Best decision I have made! Design: Beautiful design with copper finishes. Feels great and luxurious in hand. Specs: Just enough for my use. I honestly don't see the difference in speed, screen or anything else. picture quality is a little lower but still very descent. In fact I find the software very smooth with no bugs so far.
Battery: Life of the battery will definitely last from early morning to night with moderate use.
I paid $350AUD for this phone, I would never spend $1000 more for virtually the same features!
