Great basic package – I've had this phone for almost 2.5 years and have been really happy with it.  It's a little old now, the screen is a bit small and the battery has all but died, but it has served me very well over time.  I've had it crash a few times upon receiving a text message, but that has been lest than 3 or 4 times in the whole time i've had it.  Sure, the… Read more

camera isn't anything special, nor is the memory card, and although this was one of the best Nokia's out when i got it, it is the bare basics by today's standards.  All up tho, great little phone with bluetooth, mp3, GPRS, etc.  The changeable covers are a bonus too, because it can get scratched & all you do is get a new cover. Another great thing is the 5 way button (which takes some getting used to) and the programmable shortcut keys and shortcut menu. Small, efficient, bluetooth, GPRS, Voice dialling, programable shortcut keys, MP3, changeable cases. Low res camera, small screen.

Good – Nokia have used years of thecnology to create this great little phone. It is easy to use and operate. I'd get another one any day. This Nokia is the smae phone as what we have at work. It gets used everyday and is our oncall phone 24 hours 7 days a week. It's deadset reliable and works fine as a phone. The camera phone is quality but that is not… Read more

what I look for in a telephone!!! It's buttons are easy to use and easy to sms someone. The dcitionary is extensive as all nokias are. Not much. It is a perfect size to lose and easily slips out of your pocket when you drive, so buy a pouch or holder and you won't have any dramas.

Good – Overall, the phone is easy to use, has many features such as bluetooth, car kit connectivity etc. Easy to read screen with loud ring tones. Great phone to use, the buttons are a resonable size, menu's are easy like most Nokia phones are, the screen is nice and clear. The housings are fairly easy to take off and to replace. Works great in a hard… Read more

wired car kit that you can have fitted to your car. After working in a phone shop, I saw many of these phones coming back with screen issues, however could be attributed to their high sales.

Bad – going from an ericson to this phone i noticed that you have to allocate things to different folders to be able to save all text messages, ringtones, pictures and videos. i find that having to actually move the files in to sepperate folders it can be very time consuming and when you get a message or video and dont have enough room it is a pain in… Read more

the rear to have to either delete some files or move things around to be able to view the message or video. i cant really think of any besides it is compact the small memory

Good – I think it is an all round good phone for business purposes. Maybe not as flashy as others available but certainly serves my purpose. So much so that I am intending to upgrade to the 6230i with a 64mmc and pass this phone over to my husband who currently has a 6610. Good menu options (better than my previous phone. Fits into my car kit that I… Read more

have had for my previous two phones so that was a huge influencer in my choice. Centre key is a shocker - believe you can purchase a 6230i keypad to overcome this problem.

Good – The 6230 is a compact, fast little phone. If you want something with all the latest apps without the bells and whistles of a symbian phone, the 6230 is the way to go. This phone is a great business phone, it has all the latest apps and software, all compacted into a nice sized phone that is fast and easy to use. If you want something to impress… Read more

your friends with, the 6230 is not the way to go. The screen size is quite small compared to the newer models like the 3230, and the 32mb MMC card isn't quite big enough. If you buy a 256mr or 512mb card, it can fit everything you can imagine on there. Also, it isn't a symbian ohone like the 6600 or the 3230.

Good – It is far above the phone I had previously. I suppose it all depends on what you had before this phone and what your expectations are. I find the blue tooth and car kit great for work and I have had no problems with it. I have had the phone for nearly a year and have always had it in a case. The case was a bit hard to put on at first but now… Read more

is easy to remove and replace. The camera, video, internet, and games are all easy to use. Although I did have a very basic phone before I find the 6230 easy to use and suits my lifestyle. Camera has a lot better image resolution than the 6220, and the video mode works well better that I had expected. Also the night mode for still images work well when I tried it at the fire works. Voice recognition works well. Blue tooth with the car kit works very easily. Great size, small and convenient. GPRS great, very handy to have internet access. There is no shortcut that can be set up for the Blue tooth. Also the menue button is not always that easy to use.

Good – when i first got it ,i was a bit sceptical,i soon learnt differently, the range of features is exceptional. A+ the fact that it has polyphonic ringtones, being able to take a picture at a moments notice.being able to set high security if i leave it anywhere. the volume could be louder

Bad – Solid on the things that 99% of any phones out there can do. To pay $720 for a phone with headphones made from mount franklin bottles is a joke. I have been buying nokias for 6 years, no more. Nokia has lost my custom, what a rip off. I could excrete a better phone from my bowels. Next i will be buying a sony ericson. good voice clarity and… Read more

speakerphone, good battery life, decent media features, small size, screen res and colour ok. i could have bought a set of headphones from the reject shop which would have better quality audio. The case face scratches like a bitch, unless your storing it in a silk robe dont even bother. camera sucks, headphone and accessories connection on bottom of phone disconnects and just plain sucks, case doesnt fit properly, battery just "floats" in the back, bluetooth is a joke, hard to connect, hard to work, particulary with this model of phone. You cant see the clock on most wallpapers. Its always black. Honestly, a few extra lines of code in the OS could have resolved this. Same with the battery and signal gagues, even though they change colour they have that stupid gradient and are hard to see. Just plain lazy. Why have an mp3 player with 32mb of memory. Wow, 7 songs. WORST MENU/NAV KEY EVER. Nav key down and directional pad are attached. You try to press in the middle of the nav key, and it could go anywhere. up, down, left, right. When trying to play games or use internet services the nav key makes it a joke. Its almost like the finnish are mocking us.

Terrible – Do not buy this model of phone. There is a fault with it, search the internet and you will soon discover I am not the only one. A pity I didnt search the net before, type in the model and see what happens. The phone is a good size phone and looks the part. Would never buy a Nokia 6230 again. It stopped working after 3 months and Nokia would not… Read more

fix under warranty. Apparently condensation got into the phone and voids the warranty. Maybe Nokia should invest some of their profit and make a phone which will work for more than 3 month especially when you are on a 24mth contract. I found Nokia customer service to be rude and very UNHELPFUL. Will never buy Nokia again.

OK – The Nokia 6230 is a compact and professional looking phone with a well balanced feature set and cover nearly every function most users need to a satifactory level. The screen is disappointing but an improvement compared to other series 40 phones especially in photos. Camera is acceptible and it does do video too. With so many features, the… Read more

menu system is struggling to present them in a user friendly fashion eg. SonyEricsson. The menus are too long in list mode, grid mode still scrolls up and down the small screen and the inclusion of three navi key functions complicated further by the crap keypad.

But being a Nokia, you can count on good reception, messaging, phonebook so its a good business phone without being too flashy or large to carry. The music functionality is at best, a time killer commuting and not a MP3 player replacement.

Its a decent phone but a flawed one. The revised model , 6230i has a independant central Navi key, higher res. screen, 1.3MP camera and USB plug and play so it maybe something to hold off until. - Compact yet well featured phone

- MP3 functions at last + Radio

- Good reception

- External housings can be changed

- Memory expansion - The middle direction key has an annoying poorly designed shape and select button

- Keypad in general is far from Nokia's better creations

- Series 45 menu is inconsistent and annoying at times

- Screen is bad by 65K colour standards. Displays warm colours poorly and resolution is sub-standard.

- Polyphonics still fall behind Samsung & co.

- Nokia 6230i refines alot of the above bad points. (Wait till then?)
