No 5G service unless you have a good 4G service – This device will not connect to a 5G service unless you have a good 4G service. It is a technical limitation as stated by Nokia but hidden away in the fine print. If like me, you bought this device because you have poor 4G connectivity & performance but good 5G connectivity & performance this will be a disappointment as it will not connect to the 5G service. My 2022 iPhone SE shows 75% 5G signal strength (Telstra) and download speeds around 200Mbps measured with “Speedtest”. My old D-Link 4G did about 10Mbps on Telstra 4G also measured with “Speedtest” I would tell you how the Nokia performs on 4G but Nokia have seen fit to not support connectivity to “Speedtest” even with with all firewall and security options turned off. This means that Nokia has “hard coded” an Access Control List (ACL) into the device, hidden from the user. If they are prepared to go to these lengths just to stop purchasers using the “de facto” standard “Ookla Speedtest” broadband performance measuring tool, what else are they blocking with this hard coded / hidden ACL ? For selling this as a 5G device with “hidden” caveats and blocking access to a “de facto” standard to allow measurement of performance they get one star. Disappointing behavior on Nokia’s part as I have had extensive experience with their professional networking equipment which has always been very good.
