Mechanical perfection – Look two years on and this phone is keeping up to date and working like a trooper... Extremely satisfied still, if I had my time over I would do it again.... Pity it does not support OTG because it sounds fantastic great music Show details
Perfect phone packed with features – This phone is big but beautiful. It's quite the eye catcher and provides many a compliment or topic of discussion. I won't detail the specs because they are easy enough to google. However, the external camera can take amazing photos and the tiles on the home screen are considerably mesmerising and provide a refreshing take on the home screen… Read more
layout. Like the android operating system, the Windows 8.1 OS provides a lot of customisation, however, it combines this customisation with the ease of access found in iPhones.
Incredible workmanship – The ultimate in modern day smartphones. The Nokia Lumia 1520 is quite simply the best smartphone you can buy today. There is nothing better currently and won't be for quite some time. Having owned many Nokia phones in the past, there is a reason why Nokia is the greatest mobile phone maker in the world. I hope Microsoft don't rebrand them! Everything Screen might shatter easily due to its size.

Full Microsoft office essentials built in
Skydive to save all you're data
Cons
Not much choice in protective cases
Only available to buy outright at Harvey Norman in Australia and $744 is a lot upfront for a device
For the average consumer
Conclusion
This phone is up the top of the range and while most people will find it to big there are some people like myself who find even a 5" screened phone to small
But with specs like
A snapdragon 800 quad core processor
2gb of ram and 32gb internal storage
This phone will definitely keep you entertained
With all Microsoft office apps included you can do all you're working on you're phone and save
All data to skydrive And with more and more apps popping up in the Microsoft app store the app gap is closing fast .
If you are looking an alternative to ios or android
This phone is definitely worth a look into
There is simply no lag and all about productivity & simplicity simplicity performance no lag wp os only availible at harvey norman in au to buy outright
The hardware and the software - a story of compromise – I have been a fan of Android with my old HTC Desire serving me well, a great phone indeed. With a change on the cards I was looking for something that suited my requirements. It was a choice in the end between the HTC One, LG G2 and the Nokia 1520. The HTC One would have been the choice though I wanted a slightly better camera though everything… Read more · 2
else on the HTC was award winning. The LG had a fantastic screen and a fantastic camera but the reports of the GPS were worrying though I was not sure how true these reviews were. Then I saw it, a red Nokia 1520 and thought, this could be it. Bought it through Kogan as I wanted the red model, it had to be faster :-)
With all the phones that have been on the market recently, there has been one or more short coming that had held me back from purchasing that device. The Nokia had one thing that had me worried, the operating system. The camera, the battery and the screen rang all the bells, though how juvenile was that operating system.
The software
OK, I will cut to the chase, Windows is an operating system that is getting a push but no, it hasn't the size of Google Play or Apple but the apps they do have are very good. The only annoyance was that I could not sync the calendar via the USB like the old days with ActiveSync 4.5 or as I did with Android or how those with iTunes would sync. The Nokia software you feel is so much more mature than the Microsoft Store, I don't know why but everything Nokia is so polished. Windows Explorer is a great browser, you can select Desktop mode and unlike the other operating systems, Desktop only webpages will open up without trouble. On the other hand, one other annoyance does pop up which Android has the upper hand, no Flash support.
The hardware
One thing you will notice with this device is it is dam big but funny enough, very manageable. Most of my pockets can handle the phone with ease and I can still climb stair and sit down in a normal way. Getting into my car though can be tricky and I have to be careful not to impale myself. The buttons are very well positioned though at first the separate camera button was getting in the way as every time I tried to hold it one handed with the right hand, the camera app would start. With a protective case though the button wasn't as easily hit and the problem has been solve, The other thing with the protective case, it helps protect the camera if you lie the phone on it's back. Battery life is amazing, the screen in direct sunlight is very good and the GPS with offline maps is another major bonus. The GPS is very quick at picking up a signal. The camera is very good, very very good and the Nokia apps make full use of that fantastic lens. Music sounds good with the right headphones, good bass and mids with acceptable treble. The phone's external speaker is loud enough to annoy your work colleagues. Fantastic screen, GPS, responsive, sound processor for headphones, CAMERA, battery Camera button can be annoying when holding with right hand, no USB calendar Sync, Windows Phone 8 is still young, No Flash support
