Bar-be-que Galore Sth Nowra (Liars) – We have had our Gen2 for three years now and overall as of now it is complete failure. Initially we were told by Bar-be-ques Galore that you don't need to use the fan (liar!!). However in our experience if you don't use the fan the top of the unit starts to warp. We used it last night which I developed a headache and the wife was getting a soar… Read more

throat. I am pretty sure the fireplace is a $3,500 death trap. No symptoms like that with the air con. A show piece now. Not using it anymore, period. So just an update on our situation and our replacement fireplace which we purchased again NOT from Bar-be-ques Galore (Sth Nowra) but from Highland Fires in Bowral which is an AUSTRALIAN made Nectre15 which was $1,000 cheaper than the Norseman Gen2. It isn't installed as yet but I will keep you posted. Just a heads up for those thinking of purchasing one Saxon, Norseman & Scandia are all made in China. The latest update on the Norseman Gen2 is that it is in the backyard and used if as a $3,500 incinerator. 'What a waste of money'

Can’t find compliance certificate – I have been searching on the Australian home association website for the compliance certificate, and the Gen 2 is not listed. Does this mean it’s not certified for use in Australia ? Show details

Great heat but door handle needs better design – Have been using this unit for 3 years and it heats the house really well. We live near the ocean and have a surface coat of rust on the top plate due to the salt air. I modified the door handle by covering the steel handle with wood to reduce the temperature. Very poorly designed handle as you need to open the door periodically and you don't want to be looking for gloves each time. The heater does create a great heat and much better than aircon. Show details

Top Bows 10mm when in use, Noisy FAN – Purchased from BBQ Galore in Launceston FEB 2020. Was told that unit does not require fan to operate and can be used for cooking. Major issue is that the top plate of the unit bows up by 10mm during use. The operating instructions state that fan must be used after 30min lit. Takes 3.5 hours to boil a half full steel kettle when fully lit. Door… Read more

Handle extremely hot in use, to the point they supply fire gloves with the unit.!! Our old Saxon that this replaced could do the same in 45mins from cold. Fan unit extremely noisy at all speeds. Unit looks nice however is not fit for purpose. Strongly recommend that you do not buy a total waste of money. This is going to shed asap.

Not very good. Doesn't heat much at all – Not very good. Doesn't heat very well even in afternoon only takes chill of the air in lounge room and rest of house still quite cold. Doesn't make much difference in my daughters room
