We went to Northerlies for my daughters and her boyfriends 21st last night. We sat down i had a lady walk up to me and ask if we wanted the cake now... before dinner WHAT THE.... I said no we will have the cake after we eat. We ordered our food the staff were not friendly at all. They brang the food out oysters were cold. The stake sandwich was… Read more

hard and very tasteless. My daughter got the bolognese it was horrible. No love in the food what so ever. I told a staff member about it and she took the plates and rolled her eyes as she left. When they bring out the cake it was a nightmare. The staff started singing before they got to the table and didn't stop to sing with us. It was a joke im a local in this town and I will NEVER go back there again. Staff and there serves was terrible and the food was just as bad..... get better food at a local pub.... absolutely not with it....

Courtesy bus nightmare – The actual restaurant and service great but the courtesy bus ....awful. I felt do unsafe, the driver was driving too fast and swerving. I felt so shaken after the journey that I lost my appetite and couldn't appreciate my meal. I told wait staff and spoke to management and with a different driver on the way home.

Brought me to tears, service horrible – I would like to complain about the service and treatment I received tonight . Not only did my meal not get logged with the kitchen after I paid but when it finally came out they still missed a meal and then proceeded to accuse me of not paying for the meal that was missed. They then refunded me for the meal i apparently didnt pay for, work that… Read more

out??. The treatment I received was totally unacceptable and I will be rating this experience accordingly. The lady that was extremely rude to me was a brunette named Charlette, this girl is in the wrong profession. She argued with me that I didn't pay for the missing meal which i had, hence the refund from another lady. I have never in all my experiences of dining dealt with a person so rude. She ruined a birthday party gathering and our holiday. I have no words for how disappointed I am with our dining experience at Northerlies which is sad as the food (that we actually got) when we finally got it was nice. Mind you my husband missed out and never ate so left hungry. Disappointed is an understatement

Wonderful Place for a Drink or Meal – This overwhelmingly stunning venue is an ideal destination for either casual drinks or a memorable meal. The whole venue has been created like an oasis at the end of a 15 minute drive out of Cannonvale; from the beautiful landscaping to the spectacular, nautically themed bar / restaurant, perched on the edge of the bay, looking over towards the… Read more ·  1

marinas, hills and beaches of Airlie. As a meeting place for after-work get-togethers, or somewhere for a special event, you can relax within the main restaurant area, or on the beach-side deck, watching the tide come & go. But the impressive, soaring all-wooden architecture will vie for your attention, from the vaulted ceilings to the bar made from a wooden ship split in half. The interior design is award-winning. The meals from the inventive menu are of Michelin star standard, the staff friendly and efficient. After a walk down to the water's edge, or a stroll around the landscaped grounds, you can collapse in one of several huge shaded loungers on the grass, and sip a coffee or an apres lunch cocktail, but you are likely to end up back on the deck perusing the dessert menu. You could stay over in one of the purpose built traditional "yachts", built as apartment stays, on the side of the landscaped hill, and then maybe the next day have a BBQ lunch at the new, thatch-roofed, sand-floored beach bar. The whole venue appears to have been built out of a passion to create something special, rather than being just a commercial enterprise. How does it go... "build it, and they will come"... and they do.

Avoid disappointment – Saturday Sour Event As like many elderly people one of the pleasures is to go out for an evening meal with family and enjoy the food company and conversation and marvel at the new words the grandson is speaking Our choice of restaurants was a big mistake The car park could not cater for any sort of numbers On entering the restaurant a small wait… Read more

was expected and eventually we were seated and were immediately set upon by the drink waiters Drinks were ordered more drink waiters and more drink waiters after an hour we finally got a menu and ordered During this time conversation was impossible as the entertainer was obviously trying to play or attract an the attention of the people across the bay at Airlie Beach. Ear plugs should be part of the table settings But now the food has arrived OMG when you order steak that is what you get nothing else the fish fillets would have been put to shame by those from a gold fish The mussels the whole four of them were smaller than the cherry tomatoes I think the idea of small plates is to enhance the illusion More drink waiters More drink waiters and eventually the message got through and then no more drink waiters The cooks did not take any notice as to how the steak was to be cooked The focus was on artistic creation not meal satisfaction Now for desert and the realisation of no drinks no dessert After half an hour gave up and got up to leave and the usual questions at the counter while paying the bill Q How was your night ? A Not enjoyable Response Sorry about that Q How was your meal A Disappointing Response Sorry about that Q No desert ? A Would like to have had dessert but no one to take order Response Sorry about that I could get you some now We received more "Sorry about that " than in a political speech The final gesture of have a good night was very appropriate as from here on it can only get better The grandson's disappointment was overcome as we stopped at Macas and brought him a ice cream on the way home As the saying goes have been here twice First and Last
