Nylex Knockabout Hose

Works ok for me after 3 years – Haven't had problems but only the odd kink sometimes. Always wound up on hose real most of the time. Have 3 hoses but cut 2 down shorter as water pressure off house was poor after the long travel. Trying to look for another hose to run off my shed, hard to find especially 50m lengths now that bunnings don't sell anymore. Been happy with hose so far. Woefully designed. Obviously not tested. Hope someone was fired for this – It not only doesn't resist kinks, it kinks when it's straight and all you're doing is pulling it along a straight, flat path. It's terrible for gardening, it's terrible for delivering water to anything because you can't get water through the 50 kinks. embarrassed stocking this. It's bringing down their reputation. I'm going to mitre 10 next time to see if they're any better.

Kink resistance of a drinking straw – It’s 27deg in April, and the hose is in the shade (so not softened by the sun). The hose is 1 week old and this is its first use. to kinks than a drinking straw. Any radius under 250mm or the slightest sniff of a corner and it kinks. Very poor performance! Bought as it’s the only lilac hose available for recycled/tank water use. Would return if it was jst for regular use. It gets one star as it satisfies the criteria of being a hose.

If you just purchased this, then turn around and take it back – Unwrapped, lay on the lawn to unkink. Never ending argument with this hose due to continuous kinking. WTH Nylex, why would you manufacture such a thing that is not fit for purpose. Nylex, please complete more R and D on this product. The worst hose ever – Bought this hose from Bunnings, I have been gardening for 50 years and found this is the worst kinking hose I have ever experienced, absolutely terrible for older Australian , you need to keep bending over to untangle the knots. Don't buy it!! – This hose is terrible, so much for kink resistant!!. Kinks continually. Not sure where they get there rating from. Unfortunately I only read kink resistant before buying it. Should have looked closer. Not exactly cheap for a hose that kinks continually. Unbelievable that they claim it is kink resistant. Just shows don't trust the packaging.  Show details

And i thought the Pope hose was bad – OK after reading all of the negative reviews I still went out and purchased the Nylex Knockabout. Perhaps the other reviews were wrong, and surely this hose cannot be worse that the Pope hose i previously had purchased and threw away. kinks. Maybe the cold winter is not helping. Lets wait and see, Silly me I thought the product was made in Australia, but no, made in China. Wish i had read that before my purchase!

Ok so just a follow up from my review from last year. One would think as we endure a hot summer, that this hose in question would do what it is meant to do.....wrong. Even after a 47 degree summer day last week the hose still kinks! and is 'broken' Back to Bunnings for a refund. Do not buy this hose!!!! You have been warned!

Terrible – This hose is expensive and useless. It kinks all the time despite being apparently kink-resistant. Every time I use it I have to walk back and unkink it several times. Not flexible at all. Much cheaper hoses by other brands are superior, I will never buy Nylex products again. Had other problems with Nylex products. I also wish had read the reviews before buying.  Show details

Awful, frustrating – This hose is horrible. I wish I had read the reviews before buying it. it kinks. It won't roll. it is not flexible. Winding it up is a frustration, it is like a really thick, inflexible rope. shockingly awful. I am taking it back to Bunnings. I hope they take it back. Utter waste of money. Without Doubt the Worst Hose Ever! – This is without doubt the worst host I have ever bought. I have the 12mm x 30m hose & I bought it specifically because it sadi it was kink-resistant. for me to return it. Never again Nylex. By putting 'kink-resistant' on this hose oyu have ensured that I will now doubt every claim on all of your products.

Readily kinks – Very disappointed with the 12mm X 30m version of the Nylex Knockabout. Having a grade 4 anti kink statis, I did not expect to have to stop unwinding the hose to straighten out the several kinks which develop. Only 6 weeks of use so far, and it is not getting any better.  Show details

Readily kinks poor quality – Used this hose 4 times from day one it kinked so easily. I have had it less than a month and noticed today it is splitting. I expect to soon have to cut and join it. My advice is buy a cheap one as this one is not much better or buy the expensive one. How they gave it the kink free rating they for it has me beat. The only way I have found to use it is to Kay it out before turning the water on.
