Omega J8227
MPN: J82271 review
Looking for a Juicer...Check this out ! – Prior to this review I want to state that I have no affiliation with Omega Juicers. Matter of fact I never heard of Omega juicers until I was recently doing my juicer research. I read a book called "Celery Juice" by Anthony William about the benefits of drinking celery juice. I thought to give it a try and blended half a stalk of celery (about 4-5 ribs) in my wife's Nutribullet blender, which crushed an ample quantity of juice but left too much pulp residue. I liked the taste of the celery juice and decided to buy a cheap juicer which happened to be a centrifugal juicer. I got more juice from the juicer but still too much pulp left over. After a couple of weeks I thought to do a bit of research to find out whether all juicers retained so much pulp after extracting juice as a standard. I learnt that it is best to use a low speed masticating horizontal juicer for celery. I checked around and found a few good quality juicers which were above my budget. I kept coming across the brand Omega which had excellent reviews. The prices at the top end are quite steep and it took me a few days to decide whether to pay a high price for a juicer, for what could be a fad. I was getting used to drinking the celery juice each morning and I did feel somewhat better in my body. So I finally decided I would invest in a mid range unit and purchase the Omega J8227S. I ordered this on a Saturday and received it on the Monday. As soon as I opened the carton I could right away see the quality oozing out of that box. The outer carton was sturdy and it housed the actual juicer package inside it, which was beautifully printed. Inside this carton there were two other cartons which contained the juicer and accessories. Every item inside was packed in a sealed plastic bag. The instructions are in a printed book, reminiscent of how instructions used to be delivered before the digital age. Instructions are very clear with some recipes added in the mix.The juicer is a very sturdy piece of machinery, compact and easy to assemble all the parts. It is made in China but Omega is an Australian-owned company, which is why I purchased this model. All the accessories are well made and sturdy. They have to be. The warranty is 20 years for the motor and 5-10 years for juicer parts. I am extremely happy with this juicer. I am still getting a minimal amount of pulp still juicing the same amount of celery - less than half a cup -and double the amount of juice which does taste so much better. It is a very quiet motor. Cleaning is a breeze. Everything is easy to pull apart and reassemble. The bonus is that this juicer is multi purpose as it can be used as a food processor, pasta extruder, dessert maker, etc. I have not used these functions yet. I bought this from Appliances -On- Line for under $400. It is worth the extra money. I have posted this review to assist anyone trying to make a decision on buying a great and reliable juicer from amongst the large number of similar units in the market. Also celery is good for you. Cheers.
