After using it for 4 years, one fine day inner glass shattered during baking. I was of the impression that we have 5 years warranty on that, as we bought brand new house from builder in 2021. To my surprise Residential Group is handling Omega Appliances in Australia now, and they clearly refused to assist saying that glass is not covered in… Read more

warranty. THIS IS INSIDE GLASS and nothing on the warranty documents says that glass is not covered. What a waste of money and time.

Terrible oven – We had this oven included as our package for the house we built in 2019. For 2 years now the oven hasn’t worked properly. We can’t even bake a cake in it as it burns every time we can’t trust it and is very disappointing. Show details

Omega Oven - Disappointing performance and manufacturer response – Purchased this quality home in November 2021 from initial owner who had it built circa 2019. An Omega OF914FX or OF916FX 90 cm Gas Hotplates /Electric Oven was installed new ( Without moving oven cannot tell which model from label which covers both models ( we have label with the house papers and warranty). Oven has performed well up to now… Read more

but some weeks ago it failed with the Oven fan grinding and excessively noisy and the thermostat tripping the safety switch on reaching temperature.

Contacted Omega immediately who simply did not wish to talk about it as in their view "warranty does not pass to a second owner" (received in writing). Found that curious as at least one other premier brand has assisted in almost the same circumstances in recent months and even replaced the major appliance unit with a current model. Omega suggested we contact a local appliance repair firm and gave name.

Obviously very disappointed at the substantial failure in less than 3 years, particularly as we have used Omega products previously.

With no other alternative we contacted the repair firm who called after a couple of weeks and simply confirmed that which we knew, in that the fan had failed. That cost $120 for about 20 seconds work and payment was required immediately. Suggested both fans be replaced as the other would likely fail and went away to order parts, suggesting repair costs could be an additional $300/$400. The unit remain unusable until repairs are done.

This is a serious failure and very poor performance from what we thought was a quality appliance that would at least last a reasonable period of service (greater than 3 years!) The lack of consideration from Omega is also very disappointing.

Internal fan faulty bearings within 3 years of use – The Omega OF916FX oven was installed as new in my knockdown/rebuild house, settlement was 2-May-2019. Within 3 years of use, the internal right fan started to squeal so ever loudly, obviously due to faulty bearings. I am extremely disappointed with this product. Show details

Never ending problems – This oven was supplied by the builder in our newly built home. While under its 2-year warranty, we once got the smashed glass door panel replaced FOC as it simply fell off as I was pulling the handle to open the door. Subsequently, again while still under warranty, the bottom element failed. This too was replaced FOC. I can’t say anything bad… Read more

about their service. They are good, attentive. In the third year, while it is no longer under warranty, the floor element stopped working again. I emailed the local service. The call-out charge and possible replacement cost was close to $500. I decided not to get it repaired. I am not sure what I will do with it now.

Too Many Problems and Bad Customer Service – We upgraded all our appliances in our new home to Omega as we had the impression they were a good and reliable brand, how wrong we were. Free Standing Oven is good to use and works well when its functioning properly. Upon installation of the oven they could not remove all the blue plastic protection without having to dismantle the oven door n… Read more

face panels so the guys pulled the plastic off as best they could and said that a service guy would call to come back to complete and also tighten the handle on the oven as it was loose, This did not happen.

Less than 3 months old the heating fan was rattling and causes loud noises. We had this arranged to be fixed which the service person attended but when asked could they remove the blue plastic as you could see it all around the edges and tighten the handle they said it was not on their list of works and basically said they wouldn't do it and left.

A year later we noticed the oven was taken a long time to heat up and things took a long time to cook, we checked by setting the modes and found out it was the bottom element of the oven not working. We rang Omega and had this arranged to be fixed. We received call from service who said they will be out to fix the issue. They attended but had no part to fix the oven as they were only there to check the issue, however he was the first nice person who than also while checking the oven pulled it all apart the finally remove the blue plastic and tighten the oven handle.

3 weeks later we called as we heard nothing only to find out the part they received from Omega was damaged and told us they had no idea when new part would be sent. Also we have had 2 other warranty problems with our Omega dishwasher in between this but that's another review.

We rang Omega to inform them of this issue with service and they said they would get the part sent asap to service division. A week later Omega rang us and said after talking to management about all the issues we have had that they would replace the oven unit instead of fixing this. Wow how good was Omega doing this after all the issues we had. They said it will be a delay getting the oven which we thought was acceptable given the times at the moment. We rang them again as we have heard nothing on the progress of the oven and this issue has been going on for 3 months now with no working oven unit only the cooktop is working.

Omega contacted us to say the replacement Oven they have had shipped is also damaged and do not have any other stock. The Management than agreed again to have the oven replaced but with a different model which is very similar to ours and said to check the model OF910FX which is black face oven rather than stainless steel. We looked it over on the sites and agreed well if they don't have original we would accept this model even know it was black just to get our oven working. We rang them back the next day to confirm and now they have said they are NOT replacing the oven at all but now have the part and want to try n fix the issue again.

This past 4 months has been an absolute nightmare with Omega and we are now back at trying to fix this broken oven again. After choosing all our appliances in the home to Omega we will not be going this way again. We have had 2 friends lately building and they have changed their appliances to other brands due to our experience with Omega. I am also in the new home building industry dealing with New Home Building Managers and will start to express my concerns over the dealings with Omega.
