Ordered 2x Chicken Curry dishes. “Will have to check if we have any” They did. Ordered 2x Smashed Potatoes as well. “We don’t have any Potato Salad” I wanted Smashed Potatoes. With attitude, “We don’t have any potatoes.” Curry described on menu as having a coconut curry sauce. No sauce at all. Chicken was lukewarm and rice underneath was cold. Asked if it could be warmed up. It came back boiling hot with the response “ Hope this is hot enough for you.” It had been microwaved to within an inch of its life. Coffee average and not hot. It was a Wednesday lunchtime. Won’t return and as a local won’t recommend. I didn’t ask for a receipt so can’t provide one as requested for verification.
Oh dear, and it used to be so good – I do not like to write negative reviews but my history with this venue, like so many other people of my age, goes back to a cosy old school cottage with the worlds’ greatest scones. A day out in The Blue Mountains was not complete without a call at Mt Victoria and an order from friends and relations to bring scones back to The Northern Beaches. Now that I live in The Blue Mountains, and this place is fifteen minutes away, it has been a massive disappointment. There have been several attempts to revive its fortunes, and in truth, they should have had everything going for them. We all want to see it thrive. Today was unfortunately pretty typical and looking around at the good attendance at rivals, the empty tables said it all. There is an obvious lack of understanding of expectations. A cold day, but no soup. They did have soup on previous visits; their attempt at pumpkin made the previous owner’s dish an absolute treat. But this was tasteless and watery, as was a later bland veggie-based effort. Today I ordered smashed potato salad thinking, oh, that sounds nice. What I got was dish of whole small potatoes in skins, garnished with butter, with most under cooked (one was raw). Where the “smashing” and “salad” was is a mystery. My colleague gave much of his breakfast to me, perhaps out of pity or perhaps he didn’t want it either. We will persist in giving One Tree Hill a chance. The cakes are wonderful and the coffee more than adequate. I am sure the owners will have had no shortage of being told about times past. They need to pay attention.

Six weeks later and now in a death spiral. Arrived at 1.30pm. Ordered Muffin, Scones with jam and cream and Flat Whites; then took a table. Ten minutes later the order arrived in a carrier bag and boxes with no utensils and take away coffee. We will put this down to the "just-out-of-nappies-work-experience-staff" who might have thought of closing early, although the board outside proclaimed Open until 4.00pm. As we left the place was empty.
