OnePlus 13

Recently upgraded from Oneplus 11 (cn) to 13 Global version. As described by other reviewer it's a very good phone and equal to the competition. There are obvious improvements with the OP13 such as water proofing, visuals, camera etc and I can recommend it. However from a personal perspective I question myself whether they justify the significant jump in price for everyday use. My old OP 11 seems just as smooth, similar battery life and oddly somehow feels better in the hand. I've owned OnePlus 6, 8, 11 and now 13 and honestly they all performed the same daily tasks just as well. I guess being a man of a certain age I just love the thrill of unboxing new supposedly bigger and better gizmos.
Purchased in for $1,449.
This smart phone is a serious contender for other major brands in 2025. First thing I noticed was the surprisingly lower price than major brands with the same or better specs. The style, weight and feel is excellent. Running on OxygenOS 15 offering 4 version updates (android 19) and 5 yrs of security update. Battery life is the winner 6,000 mAh battery even with most features turned on can last up to 2 days. Cable connect 100W fast charge is incredibly quick. (0 - 100% in 36 minutes)
A new type of ultrasonic fingerprint means you can have wet fingers or even be underwater and it works perfectly. IP69 waterproof where the other major brands only has IP68. Seen YouTube clips showing the phone can be put in a dishwasher for 90 minutes and still work perfectly. but I don't suggest it.
The Display is 6,82 inches 3168*1440 (QHD+), 510 ppi which is higher than some of the major brands in detail and is absolutely brilliant with great vibrant colours. I was out in bright sunny daylight and easily read the screen.
The CPU is a Snapdragon 8 Elite which has a very quick response. The smart phone has switch on the side to set ring, vibrate or silent which is very handy.
The Front and back cameras are excellent they take professional quality photos with a huge amount of features to play with.
I noticed with the name OnePlus the time and some feature highlight the number "1" in red which looks pretty cool.
Only concerns: The smart phone package is lacking a charger and wireless charger as they are extra.
If you use a bulky protective case, which we all do with expensive phones, you can't properly use the wireless charger as it has to be firmly based on the back of the phone and can't be used on the front. But I see new protective case sellers addressing the matter
Can't use Vodaphone sims in Australia. All other providers work perfectly but I read OnePlus are addressing the matter for Vodaphone users.
I paid extra $99.00 for a 2 yr warranty. $50 for an 80w supervooc charger AU plug. 100watt chargers on ebay are around $90 $79 for 50w wireless supervooc charger c-type cable used with it and has its own little fan to keep it cool and looks nice in appearance.
If you are interested in this smart phone there is plenty of reviews worthwhile watching on YouTube before you decide to buy.
