Don’t waste you money – Really poor connection to 4g , constantly cutting out , distressing hearing my 86 year old mother trying to reach me. Phone randomly calls any number stored in the phone. Consider what else is around. Show details

No Frills, No gimmicks, just right – This phone was for my 90 year old mum, she doesn't need to surf the net or take selfies, just call me if there is a problem or for me to check up on her. The dual SIM function at this price point is amazing. It just worked straight out of the box, thanks Opel

Opel 4G Home Phone. Day 1 and it is perfect – Product background: A home phone for seniors that makes phone calls and text messaging easy. General review: If you are looking for the ultimate 4G home phone for seniors this is it. No need to teach mum/dad how to use a mobile this home phone is super easy. Huge buttons and a generous screen make it a breeze even for those with vision… Read more

issues. After setting it up for mum I gave it a test drive and it has all the basic functionalities a senior would need...date/time/calculator/voice recording/options/settings/SOS button/quick dial/storage for four profiles/contacts list and more. It even has a lithium battery for when the power goes out. Powered by the mains you just plug it in but best of all NO hard wiring or NBN connection needed. You simply put your SIM card in and set up your Wi-fi. You can do in and out bound calls hands free if required, light to move around so any senior can lift it, plus it is nice and compact so doesn't take up much desk space. Day 1 and I'm glad mum is happy I just hope it has a long shelf life and doesn't breakdown within 12 months.

Pros:

* bringing back the old school home phone with a hand receiver but using the new technology * 4G capable * has all the functions and added features a senior would need i.e. phone calls, messaging, world clocks etc * ideal size and good screen size * only needs the mains power (has a backup lithium battery) * NO NBN or landline hardwiring required * exceptional sound quality when using the hand receiver * it has two SIM card slots (a standard size and a nano size)

Cons:

* it isn't a mobile so unfortunately you can't leave the house with it in your pocket lol.

Verdict:

4.5 stars out of 5. Awesome.
